Jews Denied Hanukkah Celebration in Local Festival
Was LoveLight Placemaking truly trying to keep religion out of its ceremony, or was there a more sinister purpose behind their denial? What do you think?
From New York Post. A Jewish community group in Virginia has slammed the organizer of a local art and music festival over its decision not to go ahead with a menorah lighting ceremony.
Join others crying out to the Lord day and night.
LoveLight Placemaking, a nonprofit which hosts the 2nd Sundays Art and Music Festival in Williamsburg, declined a proposal by a community rabbi to hold the lighting ceremony at its upcoming Dec. 10 event.
It claimed in a statement the move was “based on the objectives of the organization and a sincere desire to make this monthly event a place where all people can come together to enjoy MUSIC and ART.”
However, in their own statement, United Jewish Community of the Virginia Peninsula (UJC) said it was “shocked and dismayed” at the decision, and accused LoveLight of “not want[ing] to appear to choose sides in the Israel-Hamas conflict.” …
LoveLight flatly rejected the group’s characterization of their motives, saying it’s “never held a religious program” …
“It feels very wrong to label anyone associated with this as an antisemite when the rejection of this religious programming was entirely consistent with our decision to keep our gathering focused on art, rather than religious ceremonies.” …
UJC claimed that LoveLight “appallingly” offered to reinstate the lighting ceremony under the condition it was done “under a banner calling for a ceasefire,” a charge LoveLight did not address in its statement. …

Dear Heavenly Father, You said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. Jesus is called Your Final Word and the radiance of Your Glory. He tells us that He came into the world as light, so that whoever believes in Him will not remain in darkness. But Jesus also tells us, no one can come to Him unless You draw them. I pray You will have a “lighting ceremony” like no other, one where You draw people out of darkness and into the True Light of Christ. I pray this in the lives of Americans, Israelis, Greek, Chinese, Slavs, Arabs….in the heart of all Your people. I pray You will rescue the unbelievers from darkness and bring them into the kingdom of Your Son, whom You love…and I love. Amen

Colossians 1:12-13 Strengthen them with Your infinite power, according to Your glorious might, so that they will have everything they need to hold on and endure hardship patiently and joyfully. 12 Thank You, Father, as You have made us[a] eligible to receive our portion of the inheritance given to all those set apart by the light. 13 You have rescued us from dark powers and brought us safely into the kingdom of Your Son, whom You love
Heavenly Father we come before you and ask for you to bring Unity in the community. Through Christ Jesus all things are possible. Help your people who are made in your image to be as United as the trinity. Only you can do this Lord we trust you we believe you and we wait on you

Thank You, Father, that the antisemitism of this group in VA has been exposed and challenged. I pray for all antisemitism to be challenged, and that America will stand with Israel. Bring repentance and spiritual awaking, O Lord.
