I Prayed have prayed
Father, we lift up the Jan. 6 detainees. You know the hearts of all men, God. Protect those who are innocent, and set the captives free. Prevent their rights from being violated.

As Jan. 6 detainees continue to be mistreated, let’s join Archbishop Vigano in fasting and prayer.

From Human Events. Archbishop Carlo Maria Vigano intends to hold a 3-day fast from January 3rd to 5th in support of those who are still detained on January 6 related charges. 964 individuals have been charged with crimes, many of them misdemeanors, related to January 6, and 465 pleaded guilty. Hundreds are still languishing in DC-area jails awaiting trial.

In a letter exclusively obtained by Human Events, Archbishop Carlo Maria Vigano, the former Apostolic Nuncio to the United States, said “I hope that this initiative will find many adherents, in a spirit of true reparation of the innumerable sins and grave betrayals committed.”

“I can only encourage and bless this commendable gesture of penance, to be accompanied by prayer … for the beloved Nation which I had the privilege of knowing during my office as Apostolic Nuncio,” he said.

There are defendants “who are awaiting trials who have been incarcerated for 18, 12 months as DOJ delays those trials intentionally to inflict more pain,” Julie Kelly reported. She said that Biden’s DOJ and FBI “are still arresting people every week.” …

Many of these detainees are kept in solitary confinement in their cells in Washington, DC, in a jail many have termed the “gulag.” No matter where detainees are arrested, they are then transported to DC where they will face trial. And the conditions of their confinement are facing scrutiny.

“It doesn’t matter really what prison they’re in — and they’re in prisons across the country in indefinite incarceration — they are targeted,” Kelly said, “they are specifically mistreated. They’re kept away from their families. They’re kept away from their defense attorneys, which, of course, is a constitutional violation on top of the few other constitutional Bill of Rights violations.” …

Vigano’s call for fasting came in a letter to attorney Joseph McBride, who defends many defendants on Jan 6 charges, and has committed to a 3-day fast to bring attention to the detainees’ plight. …

It is heart breaking and sickening to know how these people have been treated by the country that they love. Mistakes were obviously mad by some, but nothing that was done deserves the treatment these people have received. Blind justice seems to be as dead as it was in slavery times. Why are our representatives not speaking out?

Dear Lord, Praying for Jake & all the January 6th prisoners being harshly & unfairly treated & falsely accused. I pray psalms 68, Let God arise, let his enemies be scattered, let them also who hate him flee before him. As smoke is driven away, so drive them away. As wax melteth before the fire, so let the wicked perish at the presence of God. But let the righteous be glad, let them rejoice before God. Yea let them exceedingly rejoice. Sing unto God, sing praises to His Name and rejoice before Him. Lord Your Living Word says that You bringeth out those which are bound with chains now thank you that enough is enough with this unfair & unrighteous treatment & their enemies are scattered and the captives of January 6th supposed riots are being set free according to your promises, In Jesus Name, Amen

Lord, release the captives and imprison those responsible for this egregious departure from true justice. Righteousness and justice are the foundation of Your throne. Let righteousness and justice rule this nation and the world! Praise Your Holy Name! For You have come to rescue us!

I want to know the stories of some of these prisoners personally. It is going to take an avalanche of prayer, love, & concern on behalf of scores of the American people who cry out to God regarding this injustice in order for it to end! This is going to get zero media attention. Nevermind, we need for it to get God’s attention. I am fasting & praying as I would like to do my part.

I agree with Archbishop Vigano in this time of prayer and fasting. How wonderful that Holy Spirit is leading in this. I’m a member of the Southern Baptist Church and yet all true Christians need to bind together in things like this. I’ve pondered. and prayed for many years and the conclusion God has given me is that God has His people in every type of Christian church; also He has unbelievers in every Christian church. May we clearly discern God’s will, not our own, in all matters of faith. God’s will prevail. Amen 🙏

True Justice
Asaph’s poetic song
1All rise! For God now comes to judge
as he convenes heaven’s courtroom.
He judges every judge and rules in the midst of the gods, saying,
2“How long will you judges refuse to listen
to the voice of true justice and continue to corrupt what is right
by judging in favor of the wrong?”
Pause in his presence
3“Defend the defenseless, the fatherless and the forgotten,
the disenfranchised and the destitute.
4Your duty is to deliver the poor and the powerless;
liberate them from the grasp of the wicked.
5But you continue in your darkness and ignorance
while the foundations of society are shaken to the core!
6Didn’t I commission you as judges, saying,
‘You are all like gods, since you judge on my behalf.
You are all like sons of the Most High, my representatives.’
7Nevertheless, in death you are nothing but mere men!
You will be laid in the ground like any prince and you will die.”
8All rise! For God now takes his place as judge of all the earth.
Don’t you know that everything and everyone belongs to him?
The nations will be sifted in his hands!

Lori, how perfect! I joined you in praying this palm over the situation, and I’m bookmarking it to pray over much of what we’re seeing these days!

I see this is the Passion Translation. It really puts it well, I think!

Lord, persecution of political enemies is something done in communist countries! May the people wake up to the communist takeover of our government that is being attempted, and may we shake off the shackles of tyranny. Lord, set these people free!

Rich, I notice many things are not right now. Yesterday I heard about a sportscaster who was disciplined or/or let go (can’t remember which) because he called “Illegal immigrants” in El Paso, TX exactly what they are, “Illegal Immigrants”! The politically correct term is “Undocumented”! Is this America or are we slowly, but surely being taken over by communism, socialism, whatever it is! The pot is boiling and the frog is in there! God will help us, I am confident of that!
