Following a heated exchange in the White House last week and a pause on all military aid, Ukrainian President Zelensky appears to have backed down, insisting on social media that he is “ready to come to the negotiating table” and “ready to sign [the minerals deal] at any time.”

Zelenskyy’s statement came less than a day after Trump paused all aid to Ukraine on Monday night. A senior Trump administration official also told Fox News that military aid will remain on hold until Ukrainian leaders show a commitment to good faith peace negotiations. …

Lets talk about what is true rather than the narrative that we want to hear because it absolves our conscious of blame. Zelensky was elected in 2019 with 73% of the vote. He is not perfect by our standards, but he has the support of his people as the following quotes prove.
A wsj reporter who was on the front lines with the Ukrainians says this: “Desertions, corruption, disorganizationāitās all been said. And thatās why I decided to see for myself. First, I headed to the north of Pokrovsk, in the abandoned mine that serves as its headquarters. Since the beginning of 2025, a solid officer with 27 years of experience, a veteran of the terrible battles of Sumy, has reigned. He says simply, āThe brigade wasnāt missing muchāmaybe a conductor. Letās say I was that. It wasnāt rocket science.ā”
And this: “At both ends of the hangar, computers have been set up so the men can watch, live, the globally broadcast conversation between Mr. Trump and their president. At first when Mr. Zelensky speaks, the tank surgeons are pleased because they feel he is in control, a good messenger of their suffering and heroism.
Then, JD Vance and Mr. Trump drown out Mr. Zelenskyās voice and insult him. The men in Pokrovsk say nothing. A mixture of stupefaction (such vulgarity) and dread (they, in the grease and blood, understand how indispensable foreign aid is) but also pride. This young presidentās standing up to the most powerful men in the world is the image of that calm and mocking boldness, which in Ukrainian is called nakhabstvo and in Yiddish chutzpah. That pride is evident on their faces.”
This is from a reporter who is there in Ukraine on the front lines, not broadcasting from Maine. He is
someone who is not making millions off of his broadcasts. To many Ukrainians, their leaders is heroic. They are not selling much needed military hardware. They depend on it for their lives.
Lord, we pray for true and lasting peace in Ukraine. We pray that both Ukraine and Russia would be able to work with the U.S. to bring an end to the bloodshed.
Heavenly Father, God of peace and harmony, You would have Your children on earth live together in peace and quietness. O Lord, frustrate the plans of all evil humanity who would stir up violence and strife; spoil the weapons of those who actually delight in war and bloodshed; and according to Your mighty and holy Will, end all wars in the world, to include the Russian-Ukrainian War. Lead us to recognize and confess the truth of Your Word that from the lusts of our own hearts come wars and fighting among us. Mercifully hear my prayer and grant us peace in our days. In Christ Jesus’ mighty and holy Name, and by His Authority, I pray. Amen.
In President Zelensky’s post, it appears he is trying to establish terms. President Trump stated multiple times there are steps or phases in establishing peace, an order in which to obtain it. The U.S. is only a portion of this equation. War is ugly with great costs to human life and extreme depleting of financial resources, the U.S. knows this all too well. President Zelensky seeks help and aid (understandably so) for Ukraine. However, he is not in a position to dictate to other nations which are attempting to aid. He met with Democrats prior to meeting with President Trump at the press conference, what did they advise? $350 billion already spent with no reconciling of where it went, why? Former President Biden incited Russia with talk, but no plan to cease the war. The minerals deal allows benefit to the U.S. and also establishes funding for Ukraine in it’s rebuilding. Security was the next phase, but President Zelensky continued to pressure. It did not end well. Not sharing ALL of the negotiation can be advantageous (arbitrators know that). Heavenly Father, please bring lasting peace and restoration to the Ukrainian people, please return all the children and others taken against their will. Bring peace in the nation of Russia, as many did not seek this war. Give wisdom to President Trump and align him with Yourself. Soften the hearts of hardened leaders. We thank You for hope, healing and peace. In Jesus’ mighty name. Amen.
About the minerals deal, most do not understand that it takes 13 years to get a mine up and running and just be in a position to just determine if the site is viable. If not, a company has to try a new site. At that point, millions, perhaps even 100s of millions has been spent. That said, the minerals deal is probably more to impress MAGA than to be any real benefit to either country for a very long time.
About the money, Ukraine received about $106 billion in aid or military equipment, the rest of the money was spent in the United States replacing the military equipment we sent to Ukraine. So, our military benefited because it got new equipment. And our factories and workers benefited. Since our tanks turned out to be easily destroyed by drones, the military came up with a new design, a booker. Our cold war equipment which we sent to Ukraine that was so old it had to be rebuit in order to work was replaced.
Of course, it is expected that Zelensky would play every card he has, including pyschological warfare to protect his people. So, of course, he would be expected to say want he wants and a little more than what he expects he would get.
Because of the enormous amount of money that has to be spent in developing a mine and the political risks that Russia will claim even more of Ukraine, it is going to be hard to get a mining companies interested in even trying to get mines started in Ukraine.
Actually the 70 billion in military equipment when depreciation is taken into account was only worth 19 billion. It is valued at 70 billion because of replacement costs, so you will notice that 1) the Ukrainians got a lot of old equipment 2) our military got much needed new equipment 3) the cost of the equipment was counted against Ukraine twice, once with the $70 billion we sent then and then a second time when the equipment was replaced.
The devil starts wars because of jealousy and provocation. Ukraine and Russia are blood brothers who have been fighting each other for centuries. Intercede with heavenly warfare for God’s intervention to bring peace in Europe. Jesus said ‘there will be wars and rumors of wars’.. the only assurances come Jesus Christ. Pray waring nations now to Him.
I am glad that the peace plan is in effect, Nevertheless it seems that the untrue statement made by president Trump regarding president Zelensky’s starting the war in Ukraine was at the heart of the original offense and White House failure. That statement was probably made as a result of Zalensky’s unwillingness to back Trump”s claim in the past that he had not tried to bribe Ukraine’s leaders in his last presidency. There were republicans at that time who refused to believe Trump as well and became life-long enemies as a result. This behavior remains disturbing as V.P. Pence intimated on X recently.
Gracious Lord, let the truth be known and any secret manipulation be exposed if Zelensky believes he can deceive the US. You, Lord are the movers of men, Lord and let us move to peace.
Lord, you stand on the side of the oppressed! Stand now with Ukraine against Russia! If Russia is not entering into a peace agreement with the intent to abide by it, reveal their deception. Do not allow the Russians to use a peace agreement to build up their military in order to return or to move into new land as Europe and Ukraine fear! Lord, remember the Ukrainians trapped on lands now controlled by the Russia military! Protect them because they are helpless! Do not allow Russia to turn on them and slaughter them like they did with Chechens, the citizens of Georgia and the Ukrainians in Crimean! Release the children kidnapped by Russia! Heal them from the trauma and from the brain washing!

We pray that this man will humble himself and seek TRUE peace. We pray for a swift end to this conflict so that mens lives can be saved.
I pray that the peace does not turn into an opportunity for Russia to strengthen its military so it can return or/and move into new territory.
I pray that by the grace of God the Ukrainians tracked in the areas controlled by Russia will not be slaughters or oppressed.
I pray the 20,000 children that have been identified by name and kidnapped and held in Russia will be returned and able to recover from the trauma and the attempt to brain wash them by the Russians. I pray that the unidentified children that Russia kidnapped (One Russian government officials says 300,000) will also be released.

I would not trust Putin any more than I would trust Hamas. Why have Hamas and Putin not been brought to trial for Crimes against Humanity? They have broken International Humanitarian Law. Such needless slaughter. Putin is a despot. His name will go down in history like Hitler who is synonymous with evil, destroying the lives of defenseless civilians, men, women and children, No one knows better what Ukrainians are going through, than their president. How will they ever rebuild, or recover from the loss. their loved ones, their homes, their livelihood. Gone. just because he wants their land… He is like a madman, with diabolical cunning a man who will do anything to get what he wants, with no heart, and a desire for power and control. Anti-Christ Spirit. Trusting Putin is like asking Israel to trust those who have vowed to destroy the whole Jewish nation. How do you trust an enemy who brazenly attacks the defenseless and unsuspecting and then pretends to be your friend and you know he has ulterior motives. What a wicked evil world! Putin should have to pay for all of the damages and compensate the people for his crimes against them. But there is no justice in war. Come quickly Lord Jesus, and rescue us!
Zelensky is no better. Tucker Carlson reported that he had taken many of the weapons we gave given them for free and sold them on the black market to our enemies. Don’t be decieved. Both of these men are evil and I pray that America will not get caught up in this any further than we already have. Yes, Putin is evil but so is Zelensky.
If you will notice Tucker Carlson gave no proof to back up his claim that Ukraine had sold half their weapons on the black market. When pressed, he admitted he had no proof. If a reporter at a network had made a claim like that, a claim that has serious political implications and could impact millions, and had no proof, that person would have been fired and his career ended.
The majority of the weapons the United States gave to Ukraine were large. We are talking about tanks (31), missile systems, High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems (HIMARS) (40), Howitzers (75), Air Defense Systems, Bradley infantry fighting vehicles (300), Stryker Armored Personnel Carriers (189)….Some have GPS inserted in them and are tracked using NATO’s system. The equipment is not something that a drug cartel would be interested in obtaining and are way too big to be easily transported to the other side of the world without being noticed. What does Tucker think? A soldier is taking off in a tank and driving it to a flea market in the middle of town and selling it?
If someone has no proof and charges a neighbor with a crime, doesn’t that make that person a false witness? Isn’t that an abomination to God?
