For nearly two weeks now, Iran has been in the midst of an unprecedented uprising. And as protests rage across the nation, many feel this uprising has a chance to finally bring down the corrupt Islamic regime for good.

Pray for your fellow intercessor.

From Reuters:

Iran was largely cut off from the outside world on Friday after authorities blacked out the internet to curb growing unrest, and video showed buildings aflame in anti-government protests raging in cities across the country.

Rights groups have already documented dozens of deaths of protesters in nearly two weeks and, with Iranian state TV showing clashes and fires, the semi-official Tasnim news agency reported that several police officers had been killed overnight.

In a televised address, Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei vowed not to back down, accusing demonstrators of acting on behalf of émigré opposition groups and the United States, and a public prosecutor threatened death sentences.

We previously covered these protests, though the situation for the Ayatollah’s regime has become far more dire since then. Videos from Thursday showed protestors flooding the streets of Tehran in what seems to be the city’s largest mobilization yet.

These protests were initially motivated by the economy, as the rial lost half its value against the dollar last year and inflation topped 40% in December. The unrest quickly morphed, however, into protests against the regime itself.

Vowing not to back down, the Iranian regime has responded with force and oppression. According to the Reuters articles, at least 48 protestors have been killed, and the regime has shut down the internet, phone calls, and at least 17 flights.

Why are these protests happening now? According to The Epoch Times, it could be because last June was a turning point. Writing for the Times, political commentator Arya Kangarloo highlighted how, for years now, Iran has relied its nuclear program and its proxy terror forces as “two main pillars.” Both were effectively crushed last year, however, by the U.S. and Israel respectively, leaving the state in a week strategic position.

Meanwhile, Iran’s exiled Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi has predicted the regime is “very close to collapsing,” according to Fox News. He called on President Trump to intervene to protect the protestors pushing back on the Ayatollah.

We prayed on Sunday for a wave of freedom to sweep across countries ruled by dictators and regimes, including Iran. Now it seems like our prayers for this Islamic nation may finally be answered. Let’s pray for freedom for the people of Iran!

Psalm 2:8-12 Paraphrases, the nations are Jesus’s inheritance and the ends of the earth are His possession. He breaks them with a rod of iron and dashes
them to pieces like a potter’s vessel. Now therefore, be wise, O kings (Mullahs);
Be instructed you judges of the earth (land). Serve the LORD with fear, and
rejoice with trembling. Kiss the Son, lest He be angry, and you perish in the
way, When His wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all those who put
their trust in Him! NKJV.
God’s seen and heard the prayers of His children in Iran! He’s setting them free!
Praise His Name! LORD, finish the work and be glorified!

ps. 140 This is a prayer for Protection against the Wicked. This is a prayer for the Iranian people, who want FREEDOM, and be a Christian nation ,under Jesus Christ rule!!! Rescue me, O Lord, from evil men; Preserve me from violent men Wh o devise evil things in their hearts: They continually stir up wars. They sharpen their tongue as a serpent: Poison of a viper is under their lips.
Keep me , I Lord, from the hands of the wicked; Preserve me from violent men Who have purposed to trip up my feet. The proud have hidden a trap for me, and cords; They have spread a net by the way side; They have set snares for me.
I said to the Lord, ” You are my God; Give ear, O Lord, to the voice of my supplications.
O, God the lord, the strength of my salvation, You have covered my head in the day of battle. Do not grant , O Lord,
the desires of the wicked; Do not promote their evil devices, that they not be exalted. As for the head of those who surround me, May the mischief of their lips cover them. May burning coals fall upon them; May they be cast into the fire, Into deep pits, from which they cannot rise May a slandered not be established in the earth; May evil hunt the violent men speedily. ”
I know that the Lord will maintain the cause of the afflicted And justice for the poor. Surely the righteous will give thanks to Your name;
The upright will dwell in Your Presence.
AMEN

Iran is experiencing not only a potential political revolution, but also a spiritual revolution. Thousands of Iranians are embracing Jesus Christ as their Savior, while thousands of mosques have closed. Father, we pray that you will sustain the Iranian people in their hour of need, and that you will not only empower them to overthrow this demonic dictatorship, but also to continue to embrace Jesus Christ as the true Savior and Lord and reject the false God of Allah.
