I Prayed have prayed
Lord, help us to do what we need to, and we trust that You will do what only You can do.
Reading Time: 6 minutes

Elections have been underway and with six months until November, no one knows what will happen. If the 2020 elections taught us anything, it’s expecting the unexpected. I recently spoke with a seasoned intercessor with experience serving at polling places and with True the Vote. She shared an eye-opening experience recently while serving as a volunteer. I pray that Donna’s story will be one of awakening that our prayers for the election are desperately needed, and our need action just as much, if not more.

Pray for your fellow intercessor.

Donna recently moved into a new neighborhood which is affluent compared to her much-loved old neighborhood. Since she had finished moving and was tired, she hadn’t signed up to serve for the election. However, two days before the election, the Travis County elections office called her.  “I got convicted and didn’t feel right about declining. Being affiliated with IFA as a state prayer leader, I knew this was the plan of God for me on that specific day.  It is like an open-book test — I had to say yes. I don’t look at it as volunteering; I look at it as serving my city and state. I was excited to meet people from my new neighborhood. The polling place was a beautiful resort and it took me a few minutes to find because it was large. I walked through the foyer and followed the signs to the events center. I managed to make it on time at 6:00 a.m.,” she said.

“When I walked in, I was surprised to see that everything was already done. All the signs were up in the room, even the parking lots. Since everything was set up, there was nothing for me to do.  Five workers were present: three female, one male, and the election judge, sitting at a table with tablets. None of them wore name tags. I extended my hand and introduced myself.  Not one smiled or shook my hand. They just glared at me. I sat at a table by myself. I overheard the people badmouthing a candidate. He showed up in the parking lot with a small group. The election judge asked me to go and put stickers on the machines. So, I did. They plugged and turned on the machines, we made sure the ballot boxes were set up, and now we were waiting on voters. We couldn’t clock in at 6:00 a.m. because the machines rejected the ballots. The workers had pulled out and used the wrong ballots for this election.”

“When a poll worker arrived at 6:30 a.m., the election judge was frazzled. This young woman was a Republican and all attention and hostility was turned to her.  They never spoke to her at all. I introduced myself and she was very friendly.”

“At 7:00 a.m, two people came in and waited in line. Two clerks were helping them. I was told to stand behind the voters to see if they had any needs, so I did.  Because the wrong ballots were used, we couldn’t check in the voters. They weren’t able to clock or log in. Tensions became very high. They unplugged the machines. The election judge contemplated telling voters to go vote around the corner. After a discussion and a quick response from the state election office, that option wasn’t necessary. A woman was stamping ballots in a corner and when I offered to help, she told me to go elsewhere. The concerned candidate from the parking lot entered the center, and the election judge was very hostile and told him he could not be there. A state election worker came to test the ballots and found out they used the wrong ballots. Just like that 250 ballots were spoiled.”

Donna was sent to the parking lot to help with curbside voting. She greeted, encouraged, and ensured that voters they had their IDs ready. She refused to let the indoor atmosphere deter her from serving. They didn’t give Donna a tablet purposely, which meant she had to walk back and forth. But she determined to be pleasant and friendly, and she made sure the voters in the curbside had everything they needed.

Finally, at 3:00 p.m., Donna was sent to lunch. She said the election judge had her phone out and put it away when she saw Donna. When she returned from a thirty-minute lunch, she was shocked to see law enforcement had been called on the candidate in the parking lot. When she asked what happened, she was told the candidate was harassing voters. Donna believes the election judge exaggerated the statement due to the fact that she had had a bad encounter with him in the past and held a grudge. At 5:00 p.m., people were being sent home.

Donna was surprised because she knew that 250 ballots had been spoiled and would need to be accounted for. She stood next to the judge and another clerk who were looking at that form, and she said, “Wow. I wonder how we account for the 250 ballots. How do we do that?” The clerk and election judge positioned themselves with their backs to Donna and never answered her question. “I found out the next day that the candidate whom they were bad-mouthing, and who was reported to the police, lost by 200 votes.” He is pursuing legal guidance and action

Reflecting on the events, Donna is most concerned by the numerous violations of policy, ethics, and perhaps the law. Here is a list in Donna’s own words:

  • There was no visible equity.
  • There were no signs stating Republican or Democrat.
  • They badmouthed one candidate.
  • I overheard the group talking about local elections and controversy.
  • I heard them speaking badly about the candidates and groups.
  • The election judge had her cell phone out, which is a big deal.

Donna summed it up well: “This is NOT supposed to happen. We are not to use our influence in a way that could shape another person’s vote.  They did not ensure a fair election for the people.”

Donna emailed the Travis County Elections office and requested not to serve around these workers again. She also had to email a report to the Travis County Election and the Republican Election offices, attaching her timecard for verification. Her hours were not accurate and Donna believes the election judge intentionally falsified her hours.

Although this was an unpleasant experience for Donna, she looked to God for discernment about why this happened. She believes He wanted her there to see the injustice happening at our polling places. This was in Texas, but it would be naive to think election integrity is only an issue in Texas. The November elections affect our nation. If we continue to sit idly by we will watch our freedoms be stripped away.

This is how Donna has been praying and how she would encourage intercessors to pray.

10 Ways to Pray about Elections

  1. Pray that people will vote for their conscience, faith, and values (Proverbs 11:3).
  2. Pray for Christians to wake up and show up to vote (see Proverbs 1:32).
  3. Pray for more believers and people of all ages to get involved in elections (see 1 Corinthians 15:58).
  4. Pray against division, strife, and every other evil spirit at work (see Proverbs 10:12 & 17:14).
  5. Pray against chaos at election sites (see Romans 16:25).
  6. Pray that believers will stand for righteousness (see Matthew 5:13,14).
  7. Pray for integrity to be restored to the election process (see Proverbs 12:22).
  8. Pray for injustice and corruption to be exposed (Mark 4:22).
  9. Pray for the younger generations who have a heart to run for office and not to be discouraged by what they see (1 Timothy 4:12).
  10. Pray for accurate vote counts (Proverbs 11:1).

A final warning from Donna:

“The enemy uses chaos to establish control.

When they control the chaos, they control the script and offer a solution to the problems they create.

What I saw taking place at the elections was people who were creating chaos on purpose.

We blame politicians, we blame everyone, but this is our government! We have to take responsibility and take our authority in Christ.”

Election Prayer:

Father, we come before You with a seemingly impossible problem with our elections. We praise You because You are not shaken or surprised by what is happening. You are still God and You are still on Your throne. Thank You, Lord, that You can work all things for good for those who love you and are called according to Your purpose. Even when it’s things we don’t understand. You are the God of all flesh and nothing is too hard for You. We lift our elections to You and ask for justice. We also ask for mercy on America. Many of our leaders have done evil in office and as a nation, we also reap from their bad decisions. We know that You can do anything, but what do You want us to do? Show us ways we can be proactive and make a difference, in Jesus’ name, amen.

Absolutely wonderful praying points. thank you for your work and dedication to helping us pray with conviction.

Here are the Gloria’s praying points with the scriptures from KJV bible written with them.
1. Pray that people will vote for their conscience, faith, and values (Proverbs 11:3).
The integrity of the upright shall guide them; but the perverseness of transgressors shall destroy them.
2. Pray for Christians to wake up and show up to vote (see Proverbs 1:32).
For the turning away of the simple shall slay them, and the prosperity of fools shall destroy them.
3. Pray for more believers and people of all ages to get involved in elections (see 1 Corinthians 15:58).
Therefore my beloved brethren be ye steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.
4. Pray against division, strife, and every other evil spirit at work (see Proverbs 10:12 & 17:14).
Hatred stireth up strifes, but love covereth all sins. The beginning of strife is as when one letteth out water; Therefore leave off contention, before it be meddled with.
5. Pray against chaos at election sites (see Romans 16:25).
Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery which was kept secret since the world began.
6. Pray that believers will stand for righteousness (see Matthew 5:13,14).
Ye are the salt of the earth; but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? It is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men. Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hid.
7. Pray for integrity to be restored to the election process (see Proverbs 12:22).
Lying lips are abomination to the Lord; but they that deal truly are his delight.
8. Pray for injustice and corruption to be exposed (Mark 4:22).
For there is nothing hid, which shall not be manifested; neither anything kept secret, but that it should come abroad.
9. Pray for the younger generations who have a heart to run for office and not to be discouraged by what they see (1 Timothy 4:12).
Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.
10. Pray for accurate vote counts (Proverbs 11:1).
A false balance is abomination to the Lord; but a just weight is his delight.

Father please continue to help America. Help those of us who love you and follow you to be strong and courageous as we stand and vote our beliefs. Thank you for the sacrifice of your son which allows us to have our life and being in you. I thank you that you are in control and that you have already defeated Satan. I claim your victory over every situation we are facing. You are a righteous, holy, faithful, wonderful God. So worthy to be praised! I praise your Holy Name.

Yes, we are on the spot.. we are the people that will carry the ball, – except remember that miraculous things have been done by our Lord in his word in the history of the ancient peoples of the Bible-, and we do need to be involved.. I am grateful for the accounts of those of you who have worked in polls and had experiences that were better than the one in this article-, but the wake-up call illuminated in this article… Lord let it strive us to pray more and thank you for those who are volunteering-, and yes we must be responsible to take account of ourselves and our cities and towns.. but let us not forget ultimately that the battle is the Lord’s..and we are just the conduits through which he works.. we are his hands and feet.. even for some of us that may not physically be able to get involved so much.. prayer is just as important.

In Jesus mighty name, – amen

If anyone has heard of a lady named KrisAnne Hall-, and she made a movie called the “non-compliant movie”.. and it is a documentary about our responsibility as American citizens &Patriots-, and as our government works from the ground up.
We are the ground.
Just go to noncompliant.com

This is a most serious concern that needs to be dealt with immediately and needs to be continually dealt with from now, today, until the Election Day. We will have to pray hard and pray long daily over this. It is an established technique that has been successfully used against those who want honest voting. The practices of cheating are well worked out and each person involved knows exactly how to
manipulate the situation to sway the voting to their political beliefs. Stopping this will take a mighty work of God and praying obedient Christians. It will be very difficult to overcome at this point because the cheating has gone on for years. I. believe the mighty Lord God can destroy the corruption, but only will move on our behalf when we take our prayers and obedience seriously and make stopping the evil a priority in each of our lives. The situation is not to be taken casually or we will fail again. Rise up, oh men and women of God!! Have done with lesser things!!Let’s serve the King of Kings!!

I feel I should go to convalescent homes and help people living there to register to vote, especially if they won’t be moving from there before November, THEN inform them about some of the most important issues we will be voting on.

What a nightmare that Donna experienced…a control freak at the polls. We need someone with authority at the polls (police) for people that are doing wrong re our votes. This needs to be cleaned up and not messed up. Those 200 lost votes could have made a difference. Pray for honesty at the polls this year.

My husband is a former chief officer of elections in a major Virginia city, and I worked many years as a poll worker who was paid less than the kennel fees for our three dogs on election day. I am happy to say that in all those years I never observed any misconduct. I pray that my experience is more typical of our nation. There are many, many election officials who are totally dedicated to fair and honest elections and who work very hard to make them happen. I thank our precious God for them.

Lord Jesus I am feeling led to help serve at the election polling sites and to bear witness to truth and accuracy and fairness of elections. Please Lord open the path for me to serve exactly where and how I might best serve YOU amidst our elections. And I ask you to stir the hearts of many more Godly citizens to serve at the polls as well. In Jesus’s Mighty Name I pray Amen!

What happened to Donna can happen anywhere. In order to elect fair and honest candidates we need to pay attention to the elections. We do not know what God’s plans are for us or for our community, but we still need to do our part and vote.

We who are in Christ MUST be vigilant! The Left will try in all sorts of ways to cheat. The story above shows this. We must be not only innocent as doves, but also wise as serpents. We don’t like the latter because of the use of “serpent” and might wish that the Lord had used another example. However, He used “serpents” and so we must be wise as serpents, but not be like them in other ways.

I’ve been an election judge since 2008. I was so discouraged with the process in the 2022 election that I was ready to give up. I live in Maryland in Anne Arundel County and they “started a new system” to vote. It took them 2 weeks to count our votes.
There is so much waste and stupid processes that it makes you not want to get involved. This primary in May about 150 people voted at my local high school, which held 2 precincts in the same school, one in the gym and one in the cafateria and another one across the street at the library. (at least they finally stopped renting the local church). We had early voting days for 8 or 9 days, even for the primary. Baltimore city is still “counting their votes.” Lord help us!

My heart was grieved when I read the article about Donna, and how the voting polls are still being manipulated.Isaiah 59:19.”When the enemy shall come in,like a flood, the spirit of the LORD shall lift up a standard against him”.Another word for standard is banner.A banner is a flag. The flag of the United States of America. The home of the free and the brave.Lord Jesus, convict every one of us to continue even more to pray in intercession, warring against the enemy, making declarations against the enemy and proclaiming that the church is and will be victorious in this election.Let is get involved like Donna has and pray at every polling place in our area.amen.

Oh Debbie. My heart aches for you as I pray. I’m guessing you’re in Austin and I’m sorry that’s happening there. We work the polls in Collin county and our Head Judge does not let these kinds of injustice go on. She is fair and I pray more that God would open the eyes of more of these Head Judges. In His name I pray.

Lord Jesus, You are aware of the issues that need to be taken care of before the Election in November. By Your grace, please let all of these issues be dealt with properly. Please, Lord, make a way for election integrity and justice to prevail. Our hope and trust are in You, Lord, as you are our Ruler. Thank you Jesus.

Wonderful prayer points. Thank you! Prayed through them all. I am thankful for people who follow procedures. I am thankful for our election board. I am thankful for the poll workers. I am especially thankful for people who choose to vote.
Father, hear our cries. I speak order and peace over every polling place for early voting and for election day voting. Let all be done righteously and in order, all ballots being accounted for, and every voter given an opportunity to vote. Let every vote be a “legal” vote by a citizen of our country and her territories. I declare and decree that any and all attempts at anything illegal will be rightly adjudicated and thrown out. And Father, I pray that all glory will be given to You in this matter. Amen.

Gloria, your point about creating chaos so they can take control is one I hadn’t considered. I’ve heard a definition of ‘shalom’ being ‘the power that destroys the authority that holds chaos together’. I hope I didn’t butcher that definition! So I pray shalom over every polling place – and at the same time I pray confusion into the enemy’s camp so they are unable to cooperate to do evil.

They said that the ballots they had at the beginning were incorrect ballots but I would question that. What better way to get your hands on a batch of ballots to falsify than to declare good ballots as bad and set them aside?
Lord God, make us as Issachar, understanding the days we are in to that we would know what we should do. Help us also to be wise as serpents and harmless as doves as we set our eyes and hearts upon the things above and not the things of this world. Help us to live lives of godliness and holy conduct as the light and salt of the world as You called us to be.

I appreciate what you have shared. As a poll worker in Michigan God has instructed me to pray that every ballot I touch will not be compromised and regardless of who they vote for it will be counted and posted correctly. Even those we have not touched will be counted correctly . I will go to our township hall and pray in my car over the leaders workers and volunteers . Integrity will return to the elections, those who lie and are prepared to cheat will be exposed and held legally accountable . Being on the inside gives us opportunity to see hear and know how to fight this evil plan.

Doesn’t this account from Donna make you feel overpowered and that your vote won’t matter because of what she witnessed?
It has been on my heart for 4 years now since we heard of such incidents in 2020. What will happen this election? How can this overtaking be taken back?
I believe a supernatural miracle is absolutely needed. The enemy wanted to confound us, despair us, and create a no hope heart in God’s children.
But God…

Heavenly Father raise up Your army of courageous people who trust that if You say to walk around the walls of Jericho…we will walk around the walls of Jericho. Unite Your people Lord! Give them confidence and a sound mind in a time of great need. Let us put on our FULL armor and get out our slingshots and kill this Monster with trust in You and determination and zeal.
If God is for us, who can be against us?
May ALL darkness be brought into the light as plans are being prepared and connived for the coming election. May strongholds be cast down and deceit exposed as Kingdom armies are set in place, positioned by the only power worth worshipping today and forever…the Lord Jesus Christ…who will redeems ALL things broken and abused, showing ALL the earth who rules the Throne of our world!
Praise our Triune God for such Hope as we move with Him, crying out for Justice that only He can fix. Man can’t do it.
We need Your help Lord.
As we obey and move in faith, as we vote and wait on You, as we confess and repent of all necessary, as we praise and pray…bring Your people through this storm in Holy victory, to rejoice together and conquer, and watch the walls fall down!!!

In Jesus’ powerful name,
Amen

Yes yes yes! Grace, your trust in God and your praise to Him is inspiring. Thank You, God, for my sisters and brothers in our Lord Jesus who seek to live in the gratitide of grace, choosing to walk with you in doing what is right and true and good (see Psalm 50:23).

May Your love light shine through us as we endeavor to serve you with all of our hearts!!

We bind the dark powers which have been creating confusion and injustice; we loose Your perfect justice to let Truth and Freedom prevail. Amen.
