I Prayed have prayed
God, we pray that You would protect us and our cities. Empower our police force, Father, and allow them to protect us from violent criminals in order to prevent situations like these.
Reading Time: 3 minutes

As cities become less safe and law and order become more scarce, many might be forced to take matters into their own hands.

From The Daily Signal. This week, the media found its latest iteration of its favorite narrative: white man harms black man.

That iteration featured a 24-year-old white Marine from Queens attempting to suppress a 30-year-old homeless, psychotic black man, Jordan Neely, via use of a suppression hold. Neely was apparently threatening people on the subway when the Marine took him down from behind, keeping him in the suppression hold for 15 minutes; Neely died shortly thereafter.

The extraordinarily inflammatory and insipid Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., immediately rushed to Twitter in order to gin up outrage: “Jordan Neely was murdered. But bc Jordan was houseless and crying for food in a time when the city is raising rents and stripping services to militarize itself while many in power demonize the poor, the murderer gets protected w/ passive headlines + no charges. It’s disgusting.”

Meanwhile, Manhattan Borough President Mark Levine tweeted, “I saw Jordan Neely perform his Michael Jackson routine many times on the A train. He always made people smile. Our broken mental health system failed him. He deserved help, not to die in a chokehold on the floor of the subway.”

So, who was Neely? A career criminal. He wasn’t just shouting threats at passengers—he had been arrested more than 40 times in the past. Those arrests ranged from drugs to disorderly conduct to fare beating. When he died, he carried an outstanding warrant for assaulting a 67-year-old woman. A bevy of people apparently report that he had attempted to shove people onto subway tracks more than once.

Why was Neely out on the streets? It was clear to everyone that he was a mentally ill psychotic man with a serious drug record, a rap sheet longer than the phone book, and an alleged history of violent incidents. The answer is that the city of New York has decided no longer to prosecute crime. To do so might raise the unpalatable spectacle of racial disparity in crime statistics—and it is apparently more important to preserve egalitarianism in arrest statistics than to take active threats off the streets.

The consequences of such idiocy are dire, for both the general public and for people like Neely. How long can the authorities in New York expect everyday citizens to experience hostile and violent encounters before taking action?

Commentator Toure tweeted, “It is normal to see loud, disturbing mental breakdowns on the NYC subway. I’m not defending that; I’m saying it’s a regular occurrence. What’s not normal is to murder people having loud, disturbing mental breakdowns.”

But short of prophecy, how can those watching such a breakdown, complete with threats against others, know who is harmless and who isn’t? Normally such questions are outsourced to law enforcement. When law enforcement is prevented from doing its job, crime rises—and citizens are forced to engage in acts of self-defense.

All of this would be perfectly obvious were Neely white and the Marine black in this case; then, the media and political class would declare the Marine a hero for protecting others on the subway car. But the narrative must be preserved—the lie that crime by minority members must be ignored for the greater good of society, lest response to such crime facilitate systemic racism.

Often, it’s innocent victims who pay the price. In the case of Jordan Neely, it was the criminal himself, who never would have died were the system rational enough to have policed him decently years ago.

Lord, thank you for right thinking and conservative voices like the daily signal.. and thank you for prayer platforms like intercessors for America that are courageous enough to post their articles supporting righteousness and sane thinking. Lord I also thank you that changes reflecting the same conservative and well-balanced thinking has been coming to our federal legislatures in the form of house Speaker Kevin McCarthy and other legislators that are finally beginning to return to sound jurisprudence in their legislating.. although we realize it’s a long uphill battle to return to how our country was once.. but maybe the Lord will continue to have favor on us and things will be rectified sooner than we hoped. Thank you for courageous citizens like the Marine who took action to defend people.. thank you that he was not persecuted or prosecuted in in the media.. especially in New York. In the mighty name of Jesus, Amen

Father in Heaven, please protect this former (not ex) Marine from the evil that is surely coming his way. With man this is impossible, but with God, all things are possible. In Jesus Name. Amen

My comment is that when uneducated people vote in IDIOTS, this is what we get, a broken system of lawlessness blamed on the lie of racism. AMERICA IS NOT RACIST!!!!! UNDER PRESIDENT ABRAHAM LINCOLN’S LEADERSHIP, SLAVERY WAS ABOLISHED! And what are our schools teaching? They are erasing our great history with lies which come from COMMUNIST CHINA’S influence. If PASTORS IN CHURCHES ARE NOT ADDRESSING WHAT THEIR FLOCK IS CONCERNED ABOUT, THEN THEY HAVE BECOME A VERY WEAK CHURCH. I believe and have faith that THE GLORIOUS EKKLESIA AROUND THE GLOBE IS FULLY AWAKENING AND THAT A LAST DAYS BILLION GOLDEN HARVEST OF SOULS IS COMING! In the name of Yeshua, Our Salvation! Amen and amen.

So, because his mother was murdered when he was 14, that gives him the right to try to push people onto the Subway Tract to murder them? That gives him the right to scream obscenities at everyday people trying to go about their business? That gives him the right to assault a 67 year old woman?
The answer is NO. The marine should be commended for stepping in to protect everyday people from an out of control man.
The leaders in New York certainly are incompetent to handle the increasing crime of their city.

I pray that you, O Lord would take the blinders off of your children’s eyes. If we your people would humble ourselves and pray and turn from our wicked way, then You will heal our land.

As this young Marine has protected others by subduing the psychotic Neely, may our Lord also protect this young man who was protecting others without regard for himself.

Yes, you reported some facts, but did you say why he was like he was. His mother was MURDERED and he became mentally incompetent because of it. YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF YOURELF. I subscribe to you, but I CAN’T STAND WHEN YOU DON’T TELLT HE WHOLE STORY! AS CHRISTIANS, THERE IS MORE THAN ONE PART OF A STORY. TELL IT ALL. I AM TOTALLY DISAPPOINTED IN YOUR JOURNALISM AND IT MAKES ME THINK, WHAT ELSE AREN’T YOU SAYING IN YOUR INFORMING US ON ISSUES FOR WHICH TO PRAY!!! THIS IS DISGUSTING!!!

Be very reluctant to shame others with your words….. As Christians we do not want to be found doing our Enemy’s work for him!

It may be that his mother was murdered, but that seems to me that it doesn’t matter at this point. Should he have been excused while he was a danger to others? Just ignore that and let him go free? He needed help. I think the part about his mother doesn’t add to the story. There are many people whose mother or father was murdered but they don’t go around threatening other people. As a Christian, I feel very sorry for him and wish that he had received help rather than being out on the stree after so many arrests. But I also feel sorry for victims of his violence who have no protection.

Oh Lord, our world is so dark! But You still reign above all! I pray for true justice for this marine, that he would have a fair trial and the whole truth would be told! I ask You to provide a fair jury. I ask You to cause people to stand up against these bizarre policies to go against policing and not to prosecute crime. Our hope is in You Lord!

There is more to this story than this site provided. This young man’s mother was murdered and stuffed in a suitcase when he was 14 and that’s why he was mentally challenged.
No, they didn’t tell you that. He needed help! There is ALWAYS a reason a person is the way they are!!!

How would the persons attacking him, know his history? They have a right to protect themselves. It’s tragic but who know what he might have done.

Many people have their loved ones murdered and don’t become deranged and violent because of it. He was a violent felon and needed to be incarcerated, rmwgether in psychiatric care or otherwise. The lawlessness in NYC and failure if (leftist) domestic policy to address mental illness us what caused this issue. Not the deceased mother’s death
