I Prayed have prayed
Lord, we pray for a fair and honest election process in November.
Reading Time: 3 minutes

President Trump is raising a completely legitimate concern that an unprecedented expansion in the use of mail-in ballots in the 2020 election could lead to voter fraud. But that has not stopped his critics from declaring his statements to be false.

Really? In 2012, before mail-in voting became a partisan political litmus test, the New York Times published an article titled “Error and Fraud at Issue as Absentee Voting Rises.” The piece noted that “there is a bipartisan consensus that voting by mail … is more easily abused than other forms,” and that “votes cast by mail are less likely to be counted, more likely to be compromised and more likely to be contested than those cast in a voting booth.” A bipartisan Commission on Federal Election Reform, chaired by former president Jimmy Carter and former secretary of state James A. Baker III, concluded in 2005 that “absentee ballots remain the largest source of potential voter fraud” and that “vote buying schemes are far more difficult to detect when citizens vote by mail.” Carter and Baker also pointed out that citizens who vote at nursing homes “are more susceptible to pressure, overt and subtle, or to intimidation.” In Florida, there is even a name for this: “granny farming.”

No one questions that mail-in ballots have much higher rates of not being counted. A Massachusetts Institute of Technology study found that in the 2008 presidential election, 7.6 million of 35.5 million mail-in ballots requested were not counted because they never reached voters or were rejected for irregularities. That is a failure rate of more than 21 percent. In 2008, it did not matter because the election was not particularly close and mail-in ballots only accounted for a fraction of votes cast. But imagine the impact that would have in a close election in which mail-in voting is tried on a massive scale.

If mail-in ballots are adopted widely for the 2020 election, mass failures would be inevitable because about half the states have either no or extremely limited vote-by-mail options, and thus lack the experience or infrastructure for sending out, receiving or securing millions of mail-in ballots. We’d be conducting an experiment of unprecedented scale right in the middle of one of the most contentious elections in U.S. history.

Moreover, there is a huge difference between sending ballots to a small number of citizens who request them and requiring that they be mailed to every registered voter, as Democrats are demanding. Under the Democrats’ plan, ballots would inevitably be sent to wrong addresses or inactive voters, putting millions of blank ballots into circulation — an invitation for fraud. Add to that the danger of what Democrats call “community ballot collection” (a.k.a. “ballot harvesting”) where campaign workers collect absentee ballots in bulk and deliver them to election officials, and you have a recipe for disaster.

Democrats are already expressing concern that Trump may not accept the results if he loses. So why would they give him an excuse to do so? Maybe because Democrats don’t believe they can win without mail-in voting. During a pandemic, only the most motivated voters are going to show up at the polls, and Democrats have a massive enthusiasm gap with Trump. A March Post-ABC News poll found that just 24 percent of Biden supporters said they were “very” enthusiastic about supporting him, which is “the lowest [level of enthusiasm] on record for a Democratic presidential candidate in 20 years of ABC/Post polls.” By contrast, more than twice as many Trump’s supporters — 53 percent — are “very” enthusiastic about supporting him. While Trump voters would walk over broken glass to get him reelected, Democrats are terrified their voters won’t get out of bed to vote for former vice president Joe Biden. Solution? Let them vote from their beds.

That could backfire. Democrats are concerned about African American turnout because covid-19 has hit the black community especially hard. But using mail-in votes may not work out the way they hoped. One recent study found that in 2018, “black voters across Georgia’s 159 counties are disproportionately more likely to have their [absentee] ballots rejected than white voters.” If mail-in voting is attempted on a massive scale in 2020, and large numbers of African American votes are not counted, it may be Democrats who are crying fraud and claiming a violation of the Voting Rights Act. If that happens, Democrats will regret going on record insisting mail-in voting is perfectly safe. . .

When one receives two mail-in ballots for the primary earlier this year like I did you start questioning the validity of the process.

God, I just simply pray that Your will be done in this election. I pray for honesty, truth, and a fair election and I pray that if there is any wrongdoing involved, may it be revealed and done away with. May the USA get back to the ideals of our forefathers – freedom of religion, freedom of speech and truth and honesty. Thank you for our wonderful President Trump, and Vice President Pence. Thank you that they are not afraid to speak up for what is right. Our country is in much better shape with this administration than it has been in over 10 years. God, if it is Your will, we humbly ask for FOUR MORE YEARS!!

Voting by mail should continue to be an option if a voter REQUESTS a mail in ballot. However, the wholesale distribution of mail in ballots is not only wasteful, but is an easy way to fraud and abuse the voting system. In the midst of all this confusion and pain, Americans need to feel secure in something/anything right now. Potentially compromising the voting system with mail in ballots, fraud, challenges to outcomes
and voter anger will make Florida’s “hanging chad” incident look pretty calm to the possible riots, military actions and deaths that may result. Or, is this part of the plan for the extreme left and some of the state governors, mayors and federal delegation along with members of the FBI? It may be time to protect our republic from those in government who wish to complete the coup they started. Let’s stop dancing around and start charging the perpetrators appropriately. These seditious actions are nothing short of treason!

Good article. Thank you. I have been thinking lately how the Democrats have decided that they will not let a crisis “go to waste.” I have a sneaking suspicion that the Democrats know they will lose to President Trump…their goal with this is not to when the Presidency but to steal the House, again, AND the Senate. When President Trumps wins the election (only if it is God’s will he wins) the Democrats will not be too bothered by because, if I am correct, what they are distracting us from with this, or any other issue as it pertains to voting, is their efforts to steal the power of U.S. Congress over the President and hold all of the UNITED STATES hostage! EEEK!!! I believe that is the goal and purpose of the Democrats agenda with this issue…Lord have mercy! I worry sometimes that I have become a conspiracy theorist, but the way the world is working these days-anything goes it seems! I could be wrong, but then again, I might not be. What the enemy means for evil, God will work for good and His glory!! Thankfully HE knows!! Thank God for all of you…Keep on praying warriors-God’s got this! Colossians 1:15-17; Revelation 15:3-4 🙂

I’m unclear on your position with fraud by mail in ballots.

There were facts exposed from congressional aired discussions that the presidential election was manipulated by the Russians in the media as well as at the election polls themselves.

Which is easier and more simple to rig, an electronic system using some advanced key strokes? Or manually as they would have to do with millions of mail in ballots.??

And besides, I’m instinctively drawn to favor what the current administration is against.

Cpost – you’re right. There was interference by Russia as proven. And further investigation (s) continue to expose and reveal that it was PAID FOR by a major party and politicians called the Democrats. Not collusion or the numerous other deceptive and deceitful stories that were made up by certain individuals. We know that corruption exists in politics big time but as Christians, we are commanded to expose the truth when it is purposely being hidden. If that means naming a certain party or people, then that is what we must do. As we continue to pray and move forward, it will be uncomfortable for many because their support for certain people and a party will be shattered under that exposure. Some will finally see the truth and some may never accept the truth. There are no perfect politicians or parties but lies exposed are one of the doorways on the road to accepting truth. May God help you to see that.

Check history if you want to see what is easier to rig. It’s not the ease that matters as much as it’s the area and number of people (votes) that can be affected. A friend of mine who works in tech high level security told me that an electronic vote can be changed in as little as 1-2 minutes from as far away as Malaysia. In 2016, an independent study assigned to check the “popular vote” within 6 months of the elections found 4.37 million votes that were altered, fraudulent, ballot harvested, mail-in, double or multiple and illegal (non-citizen or dead). ALL of those types of votes were to Hillary Clinton in the popular category. Of those votes, the vast majority of fraud was committed in mail in and ballot harvested votes. I should know since I am involved in helping to keep voting honest. When people live dishonestly or they have no moral compass, they will do whatever it takes to get an advantage. Lying for advantage about certain voting methods is included and so is the use of certain demographics or age groups. I work closely within the voting system. Mail in or full scale absentee ballots are the surefire method for wide scale fraud. History has already proven that.

Lord you are King of kings and Lord of lord’s and I praise You. In faith and believing that Your Will to be accomplished for this election I pray nothing would negatively influence nor hinder this election. Render the hearts that are influenced by darkness powerless and to submit to their Creators Will. Lord You are Able, You are enough. My prayer is for Leadership over this Nation that will accomplish Your will and purpose. To bring many lost souls seeking healing, peace and their Abba Father to You for Salvation. Lord I pray for all polititions to humble themselves and repent of their sins and pray for guidance and wisdom. Lord we pray for the hearts of the people in America to be drawn to You and Truth and that the suffering, violence, heart issues of hatred would turn us all humbly to You. In Jesus name. Amen

That you attribute her opinion to skin color is racist in itself.
Assuming poor people lack the wherewithal to get out to vote does not speak well of your attitude toward them. I never let poverty keep me from voting.
Analogous is abortion, sought by women and men in poverty.
      When we
want something bad enough we find a way to make it happen.
It is reprehensible to discredit a people group for their low economic standing. I’m personally offended because I was one of those you’re selling short, as though money has anything to do with having a brain and passions.
Please open your mind to the fact that poor people take pride in casting their votes even if getting there creates some hardship. I believe most poverty stricken people want to be thought of and treated as equals, capable of more than walking to the mailbox. And they want to be sure their votes are counted, not buried in a pile somewhere.

In your response to the comment concerning Michelle Obama….where in that comment you responded to does it mention or state the color of Ms. Obama?? I don’t see that anywhere which can only mean you are making an “assumption” about the individual who made the comment. I don’t think in this forum that assumptions will cause the discussion or comment thread to benefit.
