It’s a special time of year, for me it’s my favorite time of year. I want you to think about how in spite of whatever is happening in the world around you some things never change. I can remember when Vince Lombardi went into the Green Bay Packers’ locker room at halftime and he grabbed those athletes that had such a great season who were totally screwing up in the first half of the game. And he took a football and he said, “Gentlemen, I want to talk to you about something. This is a football.” and it began to get them back into the basics.
Well, if you are a Christian, this is your football. So let us take a look at the fundamentals of how you play the game because we are actually still in the game. The game is determined by the word of God. You should get your Bible now. We are gonna go to Luke chapter one and this is the real Christmas story. It starts off not with Jesus, but with John the Baptist.
“Our prayers have been heard! They will be answered miraculously in God’s way and timing. Christ is on the throne and forces of darkness will not prevail.”

Dear Father, Help us keep our eyes on You as we celebrate the birth of our Messiah. Keep us in remembrance for the reason of celebrating Christmas: Immanuel, God with us.
As we gather for the holidays, stir our hearts to be grateful for our risen Savior family, health, and our nation. We humble ourselves before You and give You thanks, honor, glory, and praise for Your provisions.
We thank You in advance for answering our prayers for a free nation, legal election outcome, and another term of Your choice for POTUS, President Donald J. Trump. In Jesus Name, Amen.
