The US first lady thanked Americans on Monday for the ‘greatest honour of my life’ in a recorded video she posted on Twitter. Melania Trump said: ‘The past four years have been unforgettable, as Donald and I conclude our time in the White House. I think of all of the people I have taken home in my heart and their incredible stories of love, patriotism and determination.’

Melania’s speech was taken to heart because it was spoken with sincerity. I see her as a beautiful, elegant, graceful woman of God. I ask our Lord to bless her, president Trump and their entire family.

I have found Melania to be a gentle and most gracious first lady. I will miss her gentle spirit and will pray that future first ladies will be inspired by her character. May God bless her and her family as they transition to a new and hopefully more peaceful season.

It breaks my heart to see how Melania has been treated over the last 4 years when she has done nothing but show grace and generosity to the nation. The same goes for the Trump children and grandchildren. I sincerely pray that God shields and protects them from the evil being cast their way and that they thrive in justice and uprightness in the years to come. Amen.

From the time we heard her pray the Lords Prayer to her departing comments, she has set a standard of excellency and faith that makes us proud to call her our First Lady. Incidentally, we fully expect to see her fulfilling that role once again in the not-very-distant future.
