Forecast Path, Intensity
Landfall of Ian’s center should occur this afternoon between the Sarasota, Port Charlotte and Fort Myers areas.
Ian should remain at least Category 4, but could make an extremely rare Category 5 landfall this afternoon. Regardless, Ian will be a life-threatening, catastrophic landfall, one of southwest Florida’s strongest hurricanes on record.
After that, Ian will move over the central Florida Peninsula and weaken to a tropical storm. Ian could then emerge briefly over the Atlantic waters before turning back toward the Georgia or South Carolina coasts as a tropical storm late this week. …

Wind damage from Ian will be catastrophic near where its eyewall tracks inland into the southwest Florida coast. That will include the stretch of coastline from Sarasota to Port Charlotte and Fort Myers.

Historic storm surge and flooding

At a press conference Tuesday morning, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis warned of the potential for extreme flooding and storm surge, especially along the Tampa Bay area.
The storm could push the ocean up to 10 feet higher than normal, inundating low-lying areas. In addition, heavy rainfall could spill into roads and other low areas, swamping infrastructure and homes.
The governor urged people to heed evacuation orders, telling people to find higher ground.

Hurricane Ian made landfall in western Cuba early Tuesday as a powerful Category 3 storm.
Maximum sustained winds were at 125 mph when the eyewall moved ashore just southwest of La Coloma at 4:30 a.m., according to the National Hurricane Center.
Ian is expected to grow stronger as it continues its path toward Florida. The forecast calls for Ian to become a Category 4 storm, with winds reaching 140 mph, within the next 12 hours.
Hurricane-force winds are expected in the hurricane warning area in west-central Florida beginning Wednesday morning, with tropical storm conditions expected by late today.
Considerable flooding is expected across Central Florida into southern Georgia and coastal South Carolina, with significant, prolonged river flooding expected across central to northern Florida.

More than 2 million meals and 1 million gallons of water are being loaded into 360 trailers for distribution as needed in Florida, Florida Emergency Management Director Kevin Guthrie said in a Sunday briefing. …
Guthrie also reminded residents that those who are in vulnerable buildings like mobile homes need to be ready to evacuate, even if they are not in a designated zone. Each county will send out their own alerts if that becomes necessary.
Those who aren’t evacuated should prepare to shelter in place for several days without power, Guthrie said. He also urged those who don’t need to leave to stay put, harkening back to the evacuation chaos during Hurricane Irma when, Gov. Ron DeSantis said, an estimated 2 million people were “over evacuated.” …

Also Ian fron my research appears to be the Scottish version of the Hebrew ans English name, John which means “God or the Lord is gracious!” The enemy would really like to punish Florida for Gov DeSantis’bold stands, but we declare no weapon formed against Florida or Gov DeSantis will prosper but brought to nothing!

We call upon Your name to ask You to go before this storm, stand in the gap between the storm and Your people, Lord, and facing the storm with Your hand raised to stop it, proclaim, “Peace, be still.” You and You alone are the One who will calm all the storms in our lives. We will be praying for all those who are in the path of this storm. We winter in the Naples area and know many people in that area. We also saw the aftermath of Irma in our area.
Holy Father, I just left the homeless shelter here in Daytona Beach. Please protect all of us from the impact of Ian…but especially the homeless Lord. They come here from all around the nation and now they need Your protection. Please cover them all…all around our state, with Psalm 91 Eagle Wings. Protect them from the persecution of others. Also Lord, please help the elderly among them to be able to get their SS cards in an easier manner so that they…esp the women…can get off of the streets and into an apartment. The circumstances that lead a lot of them here were not if their own doing. Lord, You know that a lot of them are victims. You know their stories. Father, please help them…in Jesus’ Name…Amen!!

I have lived in north central Florida all of my life. Admittedly, I live in the safest part for weathering hurricanes.
Many years ago when Katrina went up the Gulf of Mexico about 45 minutes from me. I sat on my front porch and prayed for God’s devine protection over Florida and it’s citizens and over my home and my son and I. As I sat praying and watching the trees in the yards across from me and on both sides of me , they were bending over and I thought they were going to break. Not one tree uprooted or broke in two.
In my yard the trees were standing tall and straight and not one leaf was moving. It was perfectly still as if I were not part of all that was raging around me, and I wasn’t.
That day as in many other days in my life, our precious and loving God was with me and heard me and answered my prayers with His loving mercy.
Alachua county we have weathered these storms numerous times because of our faithful God we always came out much better than other areas.
We recognize you our precious and omnipotent and omnipresent Lord over all and we rest our lives and homes and all who are Florida in Your capable hands as we wait on You Lord to carry us through .
Praise you our precious Father for Your always ever present faithfulnes

I keep hearing to call for an East Wind to come and shear this storm until it’s a harmless rain event. Reference Exodus with the Israelites at the Red Sea and God used the East Wind to blow Baal Zephon out of the water and set Israel free!

Thank you for letting us come before Your throne of Mercy and Grace. You, as the Creator, control all things and all people. Your people, the believers, implore you to lessen the severity of the storm and let it remain just a storm. Hush be still are the words of Your Son. I pray those words, now, back to You. Dear Heavenly Father, You have saved me throughout a lifetime of hurricanes. We cannot ask too much of You but we can believe too little. I am believing for each person in harm’s way. I live a few miles from the coast which is known as the Bay of the Holy Spirit. Ian is coming through on Thursday.
We have intercessors in all 67 counties who are praying together through this and praying for it to collapse upon itself and dissipate into nothingness.
The Lord has also said to worship over the water and many are going to places of water to do this.

Father God we ask you to have this Hurricane not to harm people there in its path and their property and cover them in JESUS name .
God, we pray for people and their pets to be safe. We pray that their homes will be safe from water and from trees falling on the homes. We pray for the electricity that it will remain intact as much as possible. We pray for the souls of those who do not know you yet, that they will come to know YOU during this crisis.
Prayers for my brother Don and his wife, and friend Jan who live just north of Tampa. Prayers for safety and quick return of power after the storm. Father, place your hand of protection over them and theirs, that they have a home to return to. Provide all they need in the way of food and water, and grant them wisdom in these last few hours of prep. I further pray, Holy Spirit would bless relationships and foster new ones for blessings and furthering of your Kingdom to flow.
Genesis 1:28 gives us dominion authority over everything on earth, even weather. Jesus exercised this authority and we can, too. In the name of Jesus, we speak to this storm and command it to receive the peace of the Lord and be still. We rebuke anything of darkness in it and command no destruction, no death or loss of life, and and that it would become disorganized. Father, we pray in Jesus name, that whatever winds or conditions needed would come to our aid now. Lord, protect all in its path. We decree peace and no loss of life, in Jesus name!

Renee I will be praying God changes her husbands mind. But if he’s not willing to leave then she will. It’s more than her life but also the baby’s life at risk. She must save her and the child while she can
Lord, give wisdom to them both! Remove any pride standing in the way. May this young wife have the courage to go if it’s truly needed. Holy Spirit, guide them both.
Dear Heavenly Father, throughout the Scripture we are told to be courageous, to not be afraid. I pray You will remind this young woman she is dearly loved and strengthen her in confidence. Holy Spirit, I pray You will fill her with all the courage and strength she needs to care for her and her child. I pray Jesus, You will intercede in the way You alone are able. I ask that her husband look upon his wife with awe as he sees her moving in the Lord. May they both be safe. May they both be changed. May this danger be used to Your Glory Lord and their good.
I’m praying for the storm to not do a lot of damage nor harm anyone. Please Lord watch over the area in the Gulf of Mexico. Put your protection around these states and the islands in the storms path.

I break the upraised arm against Florida and against our Governor. You will not destroy our righteous Governor. I pray Deut, 33:26 and 27 over our Governor and over our state. There is no God like our God! Our God rides the heavens to help us, The excellency of our God is in the clouds. You are the eternal God and You are our refuge. Underneath us are Your everlasting arms. O God, thrust out the enemy – this storm named Ian. We say destroy to the demonic forces in the winds and the waves. We ask you to send angel armies of protection for life and property in Florida. We stand on the wall to protect what you have given us and take authority over any plans of the enemy to destroy what you are doing in our state. May your name be glorified in all that happens over the next few days.

Yes, convenient that the land is already so wet. We know that there are at least 100+ climate control patents that have been given. This looks like what happened to eastern Australia. However, God is STILL in control.
Let’s pray in faith, to a miracle-working Lord God and Savior! Jesus answers our prayers and is waiting for us to ask! I wish more than the current low number (79) were bold enough to say they were concerned and praying.
Let’s pray to Christ who spoke in faith, and the sea was calmed, and later promised: “he who believes in Me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do,” (John 14:12)
Pray that no lives will be lost! –that people will come to faith in Christ! –and that the faint-hearted will be strengthened in their faith in Jesus! Pray believers will be emboldened to share the gospel!
When Ian was still squarely aimed for the Cayman Islands, their Premier Wayne Panton said: “Be reminded that forecasts and models can change quickly, thus it is critical that we prepare for the worst and PRAY FOR THE BEST.” Over this past weekend, it looked as if the Cayman Islands would be squarely in Ian’s path, but the storm’s track shifted westward. As it passed some 85 miles away from Grand Cayman Island early Monday.
Prayers were answered! –because they were made, and because people believed in faith, in our Living God! –and don’t forget to give the glory to God, when/after our prayers are answered!

Lord we just come before you now, – lifting up our brothers and sisters.. and all the citizens of florida.. Lord thank you that they have been conditioned to weather so many storms over many years, – but still and nonetheless.. it is so hard on the lives of people. So Lord we pray that you would protect and give Clarity and wisdom to each person in the regions on that map-, that are in red.. and let your guardian angels be there protecting each person and let your Holy Spirit minister to their heart’s, minds, and souls..that they would be at peace.. and please Lord allow provision as the article said-, two million meals..and other provision, to safely arrive Lord.
