The Pentagon is expected to order roughly 3,000 troops from the Army’s elite 82nd Airborne Division to the Middle East “in the coming hours,” according to a Wall Street Journal report outlining an imminent deployment of a rapid-response brigade combat team to support operations against Iran.
The Wall Street Journal reported Tuesday, citing two U.S. officials, that a written deployment order is expected shortly for the unit, along with the division’s headquarters element responsible for planning and coordination.
The move would mark a significant expansion of U.S. force posture in the region, positioning a high-readiness ground force capable of executing a range of missions if directed.
The deployment of the 82nd Airborne Division signals a serious moment in U.S. foreign policy. Known as one of the military’s most elite and rapidly deployable units, the 82nd is often sent when immediate action may be required. While officials have emphasized that no final decision has been made to engage in ground operations inside Iran, the presence of these forces dramatically expands the options available to President Donald Trump.
At the same time, the administration is pursuing a dual-track approach—combining strength with diplomacy. President Trump recently paused planned strikes on Iran’s energy infrastructure, citing “major points of agreement” in ongoing discussions. Lord Jesus, I pray that, if these troops are deployed into Iran to be part of this conflict, that their time in Iran will be brief. I understand the necessity to have the troops there to serve as a deterrent, and to give us a chance to get the enriched uranium which remains in Iran. Lord Jesus, You know what we are trying to achieve in Iran. Please give President Trump, Secretary Hegseth, and al of our military leaders wisdom and guidance in bringing this conflict to an end. Dear Father God, Jehovah Nissi, we pray for Your victory of Your divine will over Iran/Persia as President Trump has responded to Your call in answering prayers of intercession since 1979. Thank You for revealing Your power through America, her military personal, and her commander-in-chief. I thank You for answering childhood prayers from my Southern Baptist IMB missionary study and prayer groups since 1979. I am in awe of Your time and power, Your divine authority and plan for Your Creation and collaboration with Your Israel. As Trump responds to the Iran Islamic ideology of murdering their citizens in the hundreds of thousands for 47 years, I pray for Your destruction of Islam and its demonic existence. I pray for Trump and his advisers as they strategically move to secure Venezuela and Cuba and Iran and Kharg while working with Saudi Arabia to secure the world’s top 3 oil countries preventing America’s enemies from fueling their weapons against America and Israel and prayerfully bringing Liberty to all Iranians and an end to Islamic proxies that cause war, death, and destruction throughout the world until Your Final Days have come to pass.
Please Elohim, God the Father, be the protector and defender as my sons and their fellow warriors and support move to fulfill their military missions as children for Your peace. May soldiers feel confident in Your plans and encourage one another and be open to spiritual conversations.
Lord, we trust you to supernaturally guide and control Pres. Trump and all his advisors and international ambassadors, especially Marco Rubio. Lord draw them to yourself as their source of peace and wisdom. Grant great wisdom to all our leaders and bring about a quick end to this conflict with Iran.

They are putting their citizens in grave danger, announcing falsely that USA Military has been decimated. Nothing could be further from the TRUTH!
We plead the blood of Jesus Christ over all innocent troops and leaders, and ALL the protection that BLOOD affords, as they are deployed to their overseas stations!❤🙏
Hopefully I’m wrong, but I do sense a pharisaical, judgmental spirit to your response.
In your “anti-Trump” Bible study (what an odd adjective for a Bible study!) it would seem you have not personally applied Romans 3:23, “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” or 1 John 1:8, “If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us.”
Additionally, all Bible-believing Christians, which hopefully includes “former missionaries,” should know they are required to follow the law. Romans 13:1-7 Otherwise they can be deluded and even believe there is such an entity as an illegal alien who is “unjustly imprisoned” even though the law of the land was broken. People are arrested for breaking the law; to apply that principle unevenly is not biblical.
I would recommend a bit more Bible and a lot less politics in your Bible study.

I prayed for the soldiers of the 82nd throughout the early 2000’s, during the Iraq War and in their later deployment to Afghanistan. I prayed personally for “Rubin.” In one letter to Fallujah, Iraq, I sent him a copy of the 91st Psalm. Rubin later wrote, (I saved every one) that immediately after mail call the day he received my letter, they were involved in a fire fight so he stuffed it in his pocket. Much later and after a serious battle, he went to shower and pulled the letter out of his pocket. It was “sweat stained but plenty readable and the best scripture for the time.” He told me understanding the Bible was difficult but this was perfect. He had seen the wicked and this Psalm met his needs every time… he was going to laminate it. God’s Word is POWER!

Lord Jesus, I pray for the protection and well-being for the deployed troops. Please give our military leadership wisdom as to when, how, and if they actually deploy these troops in Iran. Hopefully, it will not be necessary to deploy these troops> I pray that the Iranians will recognize that we have clearly defeated their military, I pray for a peaceful solution sooner rather than later, in accordance with Your perfect and holy will.
