Will the appearance of two total lunar eclipses over the United States in 2022, the first beginning this weekend (Sunday 5/15 into Monday 5/16) and the second on November 8^th, 2022 (the date scheduled for the U.S. midterm elections) provide a message to the inhabitants of earth that God rules in the affairs of men?

The first eclipse this weekend will be a Super Blood Moon due its reddish hues on a clear night and the distance of the Moon from the earth.  This eclipse, its timing and title, can hardly escape the attention of the pro-life community following the release of a leaked majority opinion draft from the Supreme Court of the Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health decision.  The Supreme Court met this past Thursday and there is speculation that the leaked draft will lead the Court to release their formal opinion and decision sooner than originally scheduled, possibly as early as this week. The Supreme Court is scheduled to have a non-Argument session on Monday, May 16^th.

The evil of abortion has shed the blood of innocent children since Roe v. Wade was first decided in 1973. The hope of Roe being overturned would be a tremendous answer to prayer, in which IFA has been engaged since our founding in 1973.

In Romans Chapter 1 Paul reminds us, “For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, because that which is known about God is evident within them; for God made it evident to them. For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse. For even though they knew God, they did not honor Him as God or give thanks, but they became futile in their speculations, and their foolish heart was darkened.”

Is the appearance of two total lunar eclipses a sign that God is judging unrighteousness?

On the morning of November 8, 2022, Americans will be voting in the midterm election.  On Tuesday morning as many go to vote a second total lunar eclipse will have just occurred during the night before and in the early morning hours across the entire U.S.

The history associated with November 8^th in U.S. elections holds significance as it was the date of the “Republican Revolution” in 1994 when, during the midterm elections, Republicans experienced a red wave, picking up 8 seats in the U.S. Senate and a net 54 seats in the U.S. House of Representatives.  This is also the date that Donald Trump won the Presidential election in 2016.

In fact, these two total lunar eclipses occurring in the same year is extremely rare.  According to timeanddate.com, these two eclipses are the most balanced in 430 years. Each total lunar eclipse this year will have a totality of 84 minutes.

Here is a schedule for North America this Sunday May 15 and Monday, May 16, 2022.

• Peak totality will be reached at 12:11 AM EDT in the early morning hours of Monday, May 16^th over the East Coast.
• Peak totality will be reached at 11:11 PM CDT on Sunday May 15^th over the Central U.S.
• Peak Totality will be reached at 10:11 PM MDT on Sunday May 15, 2022, over the Mountain West.
• Peak Totality will be reached at 9:11 PM PDT on Sunday May 15, 2022, over the West Coast.
