As fights over deportations and ICE rage on, President Trump recently announced his intention to cut federal payments to sanctuary cities and states that resist his administration’s immigration policies.

The move comes amid heightened tensions between the public and federal law enforcement officials and immigration officers over the Trump administration’s crackdown on illegal immigration. Sanctuary cities and states vow not to cooperate with federal immigration officials in order to protect their illegal residents from deportation.
Trump made the declaration during a speech at the Detroit Economic Club, where he also claimed that the United States is at the beginning of an economic boom under his administration.
“Starting Feb. 1, we’re not making any payments to sanctuary cities or states having sanctuary cities because they do everything possible to protect criminals at the expense of American citizens,” Trump said. “And it breeds fraud and crime and all the other problems that come. So we’re not making any payment to anybody that supports sanctuary.”
The President also highlighted the steps his administration has taken to withhold funding from Minnesota, citing the extension fraud recently found to have occurred in the state.
As Just the News notes, this move comes amid heightened tensions between federal law enforcement and state officials. Protests and riots have raged in Minnesota since the death of an activist who struck an ICE agent with her car. The summer of 2025 also saw protests across California as demonstrators sought to push back against ICE. Across America, left-wing leaders and voters alike have strongly opposed the Trump administration’s deportations of illegal immigrant criminals.
Sanctuary policies endanger citizens by preventing federal law enforcement from removing dangerous criminals. President Trump, however, is doing everything he can to push back on these policies and hold the officials responsible for them accountable. Let’s pray that state and city officials would work with ICE agents to keep our nation safe, not against them!

Good news! These liberal clowns need to pay a price for being so blatantly oppositional to our federal government.
Most, well the overwhelming amount, of crime in America is committed by ‘legal’ citizens. And remember that the country was settled by illegal immigrants – God gave the country to native Americans not English transported convicts and settlers.
As we pray for our nation and the current devastating world events, may we pray for the and our churches to be and become godly with a holy revival, so God may intervene by our intercessions.

I support the removal of dangerous illegal immigrant. Recently though more and more of the immigrants being picked up have not committed crimes. I also supported closing the border to illegals but Trump has also almost completely stopped Legal immigration. Families. included one lovely Christian family i support. have been turned away after working over 10 years to get in legally and were approved to move here. Trump has taken all this too far and I can not support that.
They STILL need to be “legal”.
They still have broken the law so they are criminals. Their crime is not civil; it is a federal crime according to the law.
unfortunately, when ICE is not allowed to pick up illegals who have also committed other crimes, and entering the country illegally is a crime. they are forced to go to the streets to get them and in the process , sweep up others who while still criminals, may be less dangerous. any swept up who are here legally are released when their status is confirmed.
although I am sorry for your friends, I do believe we need a temporary moratorium on all immigration until we can expel all the illegal immigrants and allow the legal ones to assimilate.
If sanctuary cities would simply cooperate by contacting ICE when an illegal immigrant has been arrested for committing a crime, the ICE agents would go to the jail and take custody of them in a safe setting.
Because the mayors and governors are releasing these criminals out on the streets, it forces ICE to have to sweep through neighborhoods looking to apprehend them. The sanctuary cities’ policies are the root cause of the mayhem and other people being swept up.
Our Father, Who art in Heaven, hallowed be Your Name. Let Thy Kingdom come and Thy will be done on earth, just as it is in heaven.” This is my prayer for our country, for rogue cities, mayors, governors, and all those in authority. May their hearts be changed to abide by the Constitution of the United States. If they don’t, may they be now swiftly removed. In Jesus’ Name and by His authority. Amen.
This is a start. Federal law MUST prevail with these “sanctuary cities”. For the good of our nation, this MUST come to an end. Law and order MUST prevail. The dangerous illegals have no legitimate place in our nation.
