President Donald Trump is signaling that he intends to play an active role in the future of the nation’s capital, warning that he will not allow Washington, D.C., to reverse what he sees as recent public safety gains. His comments come after Democrat mayoral candidate Janeese Lewis George secured her party’s nomination and outlined a platform that has drawn sharp criticism from the president.

President Donald Trump warned that he will “not let” Janeese Lewis George, the Democrat candidate for Washington, DC, mayor, destroy the city with her policies.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump shared that George “has stated that she wants to empty the prisons,” turn the city into a sanctuary city to protect criminal illegal aliens, and defund the police, among other things. Trump pointed out that “many people,” including him, had “worked long and hard” to clean up the nation’s capital and make sure it is “again a Safe and Prestigious Community.”
“Janeese Lewis George, the Communist who is almost certainly going to be elected Mayor of Washington, D.C., has stated that she wants to empty the prisons, make D.C. a Sanctuary City, oppose ICE, welcome Criminal Illegal Aliens back into our beloved Capital, resist Anti-Crime Crackdowns, Defund the Police, continue and expand Cashless Bail, and so many other Capital destroying ‘things,’” Trump said.
The exchange highlights growing tensions between the Trump administration and local officials in Washington, D.C. Although the city has its own elected government, Congress retains constitutional authority over the District, and federal law provides the president with certain powers during emergencies. Earlier this year, President Trump invoked provisions of the District of Columbia Home Rule Act to place the Metropolitan Police Department under temporary federal control while activating the National Guard as part of a broader effort to reduce crime and restore order.
Since then, the administration has emphasized improvements throughout the city, including restoration projects at historic parks, monuments, and public fountains. The clearing of homeless encampments near prominent landmarks such as the Kennedy Center also became a visible part of the administration’s public safety initiative. Supporters have pointed to these efforts as evidence that Washington has become cleaner and safer, while critics have questioned the federal government’s intervention in local affairs.
George has pushed back against many of Trump’s claims, stating that she is willing to work with the administration when it benefits District residents but will oppose actions she believes threaten the city’s autonomy. She has also reiterated her support for D.C. statehood, an issue that remains deeply divisive in Congress. Shouldn’t the Church get involved in promoting the values that this country is founded on? What the secularist calls mental illness is in fact a spiritual deception delivered by an angel of light. As Christ followers we must equip ourselves with all six of the armaments Paul lays out in Ephesians 6. Of note is that the first 5 of these are considered “defensive” while the only “offensive” weapon, the sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God, comes at the end.
I need to remember that the Word of God is best used when I’m personally prepared. Living out loud in Truth, acting rightly with justice, ready with the message of peace, faithful in countering the enemy’s lies, and knowing where my salvation comes from is the prep I need. Then I’m prepared to fight against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places using the power of the Word of God–the sword of the Spirit.

The term “spirit of mental illness” clearly implies a spiritual cause to a soulish effect. It is intended to frame the view in a manner that makes sense to a wide variety of people, not just believers. Nebuchadnezzar learned this lesson the hard way. Most of us here praying for our country and our spiritual renewal are run and motivated basically by our love for God and country. unfortunately there is a reality we miss, that is the influence of the entire public school system, the media, and entertainment. our young adults and children are raised on the Marxist platform of fear and shock and compliance. I’ve seen them loaded on the bandwagon by intimidation, ridicule, and negative consequences.
The leadership of manipulation by fear from many many sources over a long long period of time is quite compelling. I dare say 90% of anyone under 40 yo are poisoned.

I agree about the indoctrination of our children in the public schools. That was the plan of the Marxists who infiltrated our universities after WWII. They succeeded in getting biblical instruction and prayer thrown out of our schools and their revisionist history was inserted in its place. Father, show us how to take back our schools. Thank You for the Texas legislators who have voted to require biblical instruction in classrooms there to provide children with honest historical instruction concerning the founding of our nation on Judeo-Christian principles.
