I Prayed have prayed
Lord, guide President Trump and the Republican Party on this life-and-death issue — and help them stand boldly for LIFE!
Reading Time: 2 minutes

With abortion seeming to drag more and more Republicans down among independents, Trump has claimed that the issue should be decided on the state level, not national. If Trump wins in November, will he stand as strongly for life as he did during his first term?

From The Wall Street Journal. Presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump said abortion should be left to the states, avoiding a position on the number of weeks at which the procedure should be banned as he tries to navigate an issue that has animated Democrats.

Let the IFA community know how to pray for you.

“My view is now that we have abortion where everybody wanted it from a legal standpoint, the states will determine by vote or legislation or perhaps both. And whatever they decide must be the law of the land,” Trump said Monday in a campaign video. “Many states will be different…At the end of the day, this is all about the will of the people.”

The former president’s stance is unlikely to please religious conservatives who want him to embrace tougher restrictions, and one prominent group quickly expressed its disappointment. And Democrats are certain to continue to blame him for the 2022 Supreme Court ruling that ended the constitutional right to the procedure. …

Marjorie Dannenfelser, president of the antiabortion group Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America, expressed disappointment in Trump’s position, saying it ceded the national debate on abortion to Democrats. “If successful, they will wipe out states’ rights,” she said. …

But Trump’s advisers didn’t see an upside in wading too deeply into the contentious issue, according to people familiar with his team’s thinking. In the end, Trump decided to stick with a message that states should decide, these people said. …

More than a dozen Republican-led states have backed near-total bans on the procedure and abortion access is now significantly restricted in about one third of the country. Meanwhile, some states, including Democratic-leaning ones, have passed laws or ballot measures preserving broader access to the procedure. …

In Florida, where Trump is a resident, the state Supreme Court this month issued a ruling that clears the way for a ban on abortion after six weeks of pregnancy to take effect next month. In a separate decision, the state court approved a ballot measure that, if successful this fall, would undo that ruling and restore the broad abortion access the state had before the overturning of Roe V. Wade.

Trump has previously criticized six weeks as harsh but hasn’t commented specifically on the Florida rulings. “President Trump supports preserving life but has also made clear that he supports states’ rights,” Brian Hughes, a Trump campaign senior adviser, said in a statement after the ruling. …

What is your stance on abortion? Please post a comment.

Pray for me, I had an abortion yesterday. I had to do it in a hotel room with pills alone. I was scared and prayed that Jesus would forgive me and let me survive. He assured me I was safe and I was love and forgiven.

I have been concerned that people were following Donald Trump blindly. He has never made his platform clear. You will notice that it was after he got the Republican nomination that he finally said what he would do about the Ukraine war and what his position is on abortion. He has yet to make his platform clear about Society Security or the economy.

Donald Trump has not been a Christian long. He has not gone through tests. He doesn’t have a deep understanding of the Bible. It would be a mistake to just following him blindly.

I am personally concerned about character issues. I am not saying he was guilty, but he said some things in his Carroll disposition which were inappropriate and unwise, and some would say were stupid, and what he said probably influenced the jury’s guilty verdict. If he cannot be careful in what he says in a court room surrounded by an army of lawyers who probably spent hours trying to prepare him, what happens when he is sitting across the table dealing with a complicated international crisis with people who have spent time studying his weaknesses and know how to manipulate him better than the opposing lawyers in the Carroll case?

It looks like China is determined to force us into a confrontation. I don’t think people are taking into account the seriousness of a nuclear war. Donald Trump has already been president once and was, of course, informed as to the decline of our military and yet he did nothing (saying nice things about our veterans doesn’t qualify as action) and after he left office, was putting us all at risk by showing military plans to random individuals (Witnesses have come forward with several incidences). I don’t want someone who is unpredictable with his finger on the launch button. I am thinking about writing in someone else’s name instead of voting for Trump or Biden.

I don’t think the individuals here understand the Supreme Court ruling. They overturned Roe vs Wade because the original ruling in affect added a ‘right’ to the Bill of Rights (the right to an abortion). This was radical at the time and has been questioned ever since because according to the Constitution rights can only be added by the Legislative branch. They actually never ruled on whether a woman had a right to an abortion.

I think people also are confused about presidential decrees. There are several types: orders involving the operation of the executive branch, proclamations like for a national day of prayer, national security directives. In times of war when there is little time, the president can issue decrees. President Obama tried to use them to get coal plants shut down but they were overturned by the Supreme court because he did not have the authority to order private companies to do anything (unless during war). President Bidens presidential decrees regarding student loans were also blocked by the courts.

President Trump does not have the authority to use presidential degrees to limit abortions.

I think what is taking place in the country is that if it is the will of a person, it must be right. Do we not accept the commandments of God, “thou shall not KILL”. God has given to us His written WORD to guide us. Those who call themselves Christian, there is no other way, but God’s way. We as a Nation are the ones who have made it difficult by putting in law it was acceptable to KILL . It seems to me the answer is found in repentance and changes in life styles. I pray God will give to those who ask a change of HEART in how they value life. Many years ago I was in this place and choose LIFE over abortion. There is a God who is always with us, He guides us in LOVE, WISDOM and GRACE to make Godly decisions for our life and the life of an unborn child. One can choose the way of the world, but each one will someday stand before a Sovereign God. He will have the final say, but always offers Grace and Love. To Him be all Glory and Honor.

The abortion issue is truly difficult to rightly address. Looks like God’s will is that we will have to approach ending abortion a little at a time or we will not have enough support to make any progress. The people are too far apart to be able to fix this important issue all at one time. Pray to God for His wisdom in Jesus’s Name. He will reveal His perfect answer and perfect timing.

I believe that, as the Supreme Court decided, abortion is a State government issue, not a nationwide decision.
If your state votes against your choice, move to a state that chooses your choice.
Those of us who are pro-life want our state to enact a pro-life law.
Pro-choice people will want a pro-choice law in their state.
Let the voters of each state make the law of their state.

Sadly, Trump is wrong on this point. We are already seeing that Roe returning the issue to states has only increased murder rates in preborn children. Agreeing in prayer for God to reach hus heart on this urgent matter!

Yes, now more abortions are taking place than EVER BEFORE! ALL BECAUSE OF THE ILLEGAL PIPELINE OF ABORTION PILLS BY MAIL!
SADLY Roe was only overturned when the evil one knew pills by mail were sufficient to kill our precious unborn!
In Jesus in name we bind Satan and all evil surrounding the killing of innocent babies!

I feel the government should enact moral, biblical laws which lead a land to prosperity and peace. This issue, abortion (and many others), will be won or lost on the heart level which means we need revival and reformation. As long as our children are not cherished and strong families encouraged, then abortion will not be discouraged by society. This is an issue based on the love of family. Women are harmed greatly when they lose a child to abortion but that is rarely addressed. It is a permanent mistake with the potential for lifelong regret. Of course, there is forgiveness but it doesn’t undo the consequence.

At the risk of sounding like I’m preaching to the choir .. I apologize ahead of time.. and I do not intend to do that-,but I do not know how else to make this point
It doesn’t matter that he stayed true to his word from 2016 on abortion. If enough States keep murdering babies in the womb.. it is just as much of an egregious sin in the eyes of God. In fact the overturn of Roe V. Wade as a window dressing to appease God.. and then hypocritically turning around in multiple States and continuing to sacrifice children to the god molech… is hypocrisy that the Lord abhors and detests.. now, I realize I sound like a holier than thou hypocrite.. however those are just the facts. Here’s another thing that is very troubling to me.. as much as I loved president Trump-, and I still care for him as a person, and yeah probably will vote for him cuz who else is there to vote for..

he does not think for himself-

it is painfully obvious.. on these things..
Worse yet, – his populist foundations that were nurtured in his long residence in New York, as a very popular- obviously very wealthy man,& as I heard on social media- right during the time of the escalator ride.. was that he very heavily tended towards globalist thinking- and remember he took a million dollar donation from Pfizer or Maerck,, one of those companies.. so if he has actually had a change of heart and has been convicted through the layers of privilege and comfort that he has enjoyed.. realizing that as I’m saying this that he has sacrificed a great sacrifice that no one else could bear as God’s appointed man.. at what point is it okay.. to find ways to..politically-,in a polite way, say it’s okay to abort a child.. even if it is couched in states rights.. the bottom line is anyone who will not go from the point of sacrifice that he has made- to the next point of sacrifice- which is to say -it is wrong- and it is a crime.. will at some point probably buckle.. even though he is not beholden to any Global interest monetarily.. I think he has a weakness in him for some reason-, maybe it was the strong influence of women in his life as a child-, his aunts and his mother- and whoever else it was.. but he will not come out at this point and say it is wrong and it shouldn’t happen.. he’ll use descriptive phrases like “the sacred gift from God”.. type wording.. that’s a paraphrase I’m using,..but he says things like that. And then comes back around and says it’s up to states rights.

and yes there are people that have convictions in high places that do think for themselves. And if they do not express those convictions they are just as guilty of the same- lack of responsibility- is the kindest way I can say it.
Lord please continue to move on President Trump’s heart mind and soul-, in the power of the Holy Spirit to continue to edify his internal God-man-consciousness, Lord, and support him supernaturally as only You can, to be able to Bear the burden of such a great responsibility..in publicly saying- flatly- that it is wrong and it will not happen.. not *Just- that it should not happen.. I pray You continue to protect Melania, and Baron and Eric and Don Jr and their wives and children and God, president Trump in your Holy Spirit power.. and thank you that he has allowed himself to be used and even championed causes that your Son died for.. but Lord let him continue to follow through in the next steps and not equivocate for any reason.
In Jesus mighty Name, Amen

You are so right – leaving abortion legality up to individual states is being pro-choice for each of them. Murder of unborn children must end on both the federal and state levels. Otherwise killing any human could become a legal choice for all!

This was not a non-answer, this was a wise answer by President Trump, and is in keeping with what many prophets have been saying about the issue. For good or for ill, the decision, constitutionally, should be left to the states, NOT the entire US government. If certain states wish to keep their blood rite, then they can be judged individually for that. Trump gave the correct answer, not the polarizing answer the Democratic party wanted which is causing division even here among the Believers when UNITY should be the only thing on our minds and in our hearts. Obviously his goal was to keep the focus on maintaining constitutional rights and maintaining checks and balances by reminding the Democratic party that the power to choose belongs with the states. Church, do not fall for damning and polarizing headlines like this and do not let the enemy twist your holy desire to preserve life in the womb into speaking ill and cursing a man He has chosen to help get America back on track. A house divided against itself will surely crumble.

Very pragmatic comments. If we don’t have Pres. Trump in. the White House as of Jan. 21, 2025, there will be zero opportunity to open a dialogue to discuss this issue, or any issue. A veil of darkness will come over this country that will be next to impossible to dislodge. My fear is that there are countervailing forces forming that will strike if Biden wins.

It is not a matter of cursing him. At least not for me. It is a matter of Towing the line to the full extent.. and it is not also a matter of trying to cause president Trump to pass some edict or executive order.. it is a matter of him coming out and saying.. as the greatest influence in our country- in recent memory at least.. that it is wrong. Knowing full well that those words coming from him-,carry the weight of influence that could-, and definitely would- change the course of things.. and he would be-, in that instance ..if he were to do that.. being an obedient vessel to the Lord, because we know the scripture that says the Lord changes the course of a man’s heart, the way he changes the course of a river.. and because we have free will- we have to purposely engage our free will- in matters, that are engaging with obedience. In fact the idea of trying to coerce president Trump- by him being forced to squeeze out some type of executive order.. is repugnant.. and actually silly.. it is not a matter of that..it is a matter of him standing in the place that he’s been assigned- upright-,and stating what needs to be stated- just as when we pray as Christians, our prayers carry great weight- just as when we make decisions and verbally state things as human beings on the path with God.. someday we will be held accountable for those things, and I thank God for his grace because I definitely need it-,and I know president Trump needs it.. that all I believe that we are asking for- that is being said, is that he needs to -Verbally State it-.. because of the effect his words and statements and opinions carry in the hearts and minds of Americans and people in the world as well

If by a miracle of God you are carrying a life, how can you just kill it, like you step on a bug! It’s a human being!!! It’s not an ant, or a spider, or a cockroach; it’s a living human! So many people can’t have a baby and you could give it up for adoption if you are too young or single or just can afford to take care of it. I pray that God leads this country to the right decisions on abortions; that only the health of the baby or the mother would lead to that.

He is the most Pro Life President we’ve ever had, & has done more for the unborn. Including prolife justices & overturning roe vs wade. And I believe this is a “comma”, not a “period”. It’s a baby at conception. But as you can see, the prochoice people use this every election against us. Trump just shut them up & put it back to the states as Supreme Court said. America is 1 election away from freedom being extinct, its a mess! Let’s pray the hearts in each state are changed to see babies as babies, win this election, & continue on in the process for LIFE ❤️

Just a reminder here that is very important to remember when reading any news or articles about abortion being a polarizing issue. The left or sometimes “liberal viewpoints” , concerning abortion – are purposely & strategically “saturating” ALL forms of communication, media, SocMed platforms, etc.
The goal is to make us or convince us to believe (1) that the ‘majority’ of people believe & support abortion (2) that the S. Court made a mistake “against” the majority of people’s wishes, which they did not (3) that states do NOT have the right to determine what is best for their citizens. (4) that political parties & their spokesperson(s) have no right or opinions regarding such big decisions.
Donald Trump is siding with & upholding the SC’s proper decision. It is up to the states to determine that decision – it is no longer a federal issue. (we are addressing this from a political issue right now, not a moral issue. We already know that it’s a moral issue) The driving forces of hell itself want to make it a federal decision – why? Money & control (physical & spiritual control). When all or most decisions are ruled over & decided by the federal gov’t…power & control is “removed” from individual citizens (local). While we may want Trump to “state publicly & boldly” his opposition to abortion (which he does oppose), Trump is reinforcing the SC’s decision while “maneuvering for the long game” from a political standpoint. I’m more than amazed how often many don’t understand that. It’s more like Mr. Trump, “you better think, act & speak like we expect you to…or else.”
Continue to pray for discernment (especially with political issues), pray for Mr. Trump & pray that more states will fight for the unborn. The woeful, murderous reign of abortion over America was a 50 year federal battle – and it begin to unravel through faithful prayers. But the battle isn’t over & we need people to understand how this “chess game” is being played & to back those people or parties who are against abortion – even if you don’t agree with how “they fight the battle”. There are no battles or wars that are just “one & done”.

The earthly circumstances that conspire to create life can sometimes be messy–even sinful at times; but the life itself is sacred–not just the convenient life–not just the preferred life–not just the desired life–not just the “perfect” life–not just “viable” life–but ALL human life…because the Author of Life says so. And while this fact should settle the issue for those of us who claim to be followers of Christ, it unfortunately does not for those who deny Him (whether out of pride or ignorance). But even if one does not ascribe to the HOLY cause for life, Americans are citizens of a country that was formed with the declaration that “LIFE [emphasis mine], Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness” are unalienable rights which have been given to all humans by their Creator, and which governments are created to protect. The issue of abortion is not a States Rights issue; it is a Human Rights issue–transcending “the will of the people.” And while this battle is ultimately a spiritual one and our Kingdom duty is to collectively pray against (bind) the evil forces that conspire against the Giver of Life and that Holy Spirit would lift the veil of deceit, our American duty is to engage the public square and pressure our government to formally define when life begins (as science ultimately proves God’s truth) and then require that it do its duty to protect that “unalienable right.”

I like you believe that abortion is murder – at any point in the gestation period of the human baby. It is incumbent upon us to pray to God for guidance in the affairs of man. All affairs whether we agree or not. With God’s guidance we must manage the affairs of man to arrive at a blessed outcome. Because they are the affairs of fallen men and women, purity in choice and outcome will never be found. There’s only one law and justice system that always has a pure, unadulterated outcome. And that’s Gods. Searching for purity in Man’s law will never be found. What we must do is place our 100% faith and confidence in God and Jesus Christ and ask for guidance when making our choices in an impure World. Perhaps abstaining from a choice is the guidance received. If so, then God must be obeyed. All rulers chosen by God throughout history were fallen. Both Donald Trump and Joe Biden are fallen rulers. The question is which one has proven to want what’s best for his people (us)? There is a history for both. I will pray to God for guidance. I will ask him to look in the heart of each man, and guide his people (us) in the right selection. Of which abstinence could be the choice. But I believe God wants his people engaged in the affairs of man with his blessing of course.

The Supreme Court determined that abortion is a state’s right issue. This ruling places the details of abortion rights at the level, I believe, the Founding Fathers spoke of. This places abortion decisions closer to the people who will decide state-by-state. I believe that abortion is murder, but also believe that Pres. Trump is abiding by the law of the land. I believe that Pres. Trump has attempted to weaken Democrat arguments that he is an ‘extremist’ by taking the position he has taken. Remember, if Pres. Trump does not win in November the Supreme Court’s ruling on Roe vs. Wade will be reversed and abortion up to, and including, the birth of the baby will become the law of the land. Democrats are pagans and are doing the bidding of Satan. They will not hesitate to murder millions of babies in order to hold on to power. Although Pres. Trump’s stance on the abortion issue might not please you 100%, he must win in Nov. to even have a chance of passing a federal law banning abortion. Remember this when you vote this Nov. We are witnessing the results of having atheists in control of our government. You must vote for Pres. Trump this Nov. DO NOT stay home by taking a ‘holier than thou’ attitude!!!

This is the way thar Roev. Wade was determined to be struck down by the supreme court. Donald Trump is saying that he agrees with the way that the Supreme court rendered their decision. Oh, Lord, how we need a spiritual awakening to break the hold of the killing of babies in the womb. Bring light where there is darkness. Bring sanity where there is madness.
