I am so grateful for this decision and executive order that responds to the scientific research discovering truth. Well-researched truth corresponds to the revealed from God in Genesis .(It always eventually happens that truth discovered by scientific method matches revealed truth. Instead of following the scientific method, declare a particular hypothesis a “fact” (when only a piece matches some evidence while the rest is unobserved and untested so only assumptions). So, when other ideas explain the data better, those new explanations are censored, because opposing to entrenched hypotheses. Instead of checking out the new research the new well-researched discovery is labeled as “unscientific”, since different from the entrenched idea already popular or backed by leaders as “scientific”.
For example, I was amazed how much the Mt. Saint Helens explosion (forming a canyon with layers visible in its walls) pointed to a cataclysmic flood theory interpretation of canyon formation that matches data so much more completely than a slow erosion Darwinian macro-evolution theory that was definitely taught as “fact” in 1970’s in my public school. Yet, even with all this new data from satellite images of the progression of Mt. Saint Helens changing landscape, a flood-cause idea of geological formation is largely ignored or even censored in favor 18th century Darwin idea that he later regretted. I think ooth theories should be shown to students and let the students exercise critical-thinking in science fact, instead of censoring.
I later read that Darwin’s long-accepted slow erosion hypothesis that river cut canyon in Argentina has already been replaced by most modern geologists with idea neighboring lakes dumped their water into low-lying area cut that canyon. Flood hypothesis explains ripples between layers and that furry, feathery creatures are buried at higher levels of strata than smooth creatures like amoebas because of fast-moving water resistance on surfaces. Science (done well (applying scientific method fully) matches revealed truth consistently.
Mt. Helen’s explosion causing trees floating upright at different levels, should inform today’s scientists looking at Yellowstone signs that claim forests were buried at different levels over millions of years [of erosion]. We are definitely “in the last days” that 2 Peter 3:3-6 predicted, when “For in holding to this idea” that “everything goes on just as it has since the beginning of creation” “, it escapes their notice that “the heavens existed long ago”, “earth was formed out of water and through water by the word of God. Through these, the world of that time was destroyed by being flooded with water.” Holding so tightly to the slow -erosion no major changes to earth idea, leads to escaping notice of earth’s cataclysmic changes, including flood and mud and lava flow much better explain the curved without cracks multiple layers and upright trees piercing many layers and still soft-tissue in dinosaur bones.
Glad this executive decision followed truth from both scientific observation and revealed from Scripture. I find both kinds of truth consistently match if study that discovers them is done well.
As daughter of NASA engineer (who worked on control panel for Space Shuttle) and as daughter spiritually of the Most High God through receiving Jesus as my Savior [from sin] (as anyone can) in 1976, giving me the right to become a child God, born-again, so indwelling Holy Spirit helps me interpret Scripture, I have a great vantage point to match truths discovered two ways: 1) truths discovered through well-done research and truths revealed through well-done Scripture study.
Holding tightly to one’s long-established ideas (possibly because of motives such as power, status, favorite lifestyle, world-view, religion) or influenced by listening only to popular majority ideas, or news-views, can lead to censoring or throwing out other’s ideas different from yours, becoming unteachable by overlooking or suppressing truth. Paul explained in Romans 1:18, and Jesus explained in John 3, especially verses 19-21 (“men loved the darkness…not come to the light, so that their deeds will not be exposed.”) Jesus was talking to a man steeped in trusting his religion that had mistakenly morphed into trying to be good enough for God rather than trusting God’s gift, His Son (John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him, shall not perish but have eternal life”)
