Since 2019, U.S. hospitals have made a staggering $120 million performing gender transition treatments on minors. (These do not include any numbers for 2024). This is according to the watchdog group Do No Harm, whose mission it is to keep identity politics out of healthcare.

Dr. Stanley Goldfarb, chairman for Do No Harm, said that the organization aims to “expose the dangers of experimental pediatric gender medicine and bring the practice to an end.”

Do No Harm recently launched the first and only national database of hospitals and medical facilities performing irreversible sex change treatments on children, including genital mutilation surgeries and chemically castrating drugs.

They discovered nearly 14,000 children in the U.S. were given so-called “gender-affirming” care, including over 5,000 children who had “gender intervention” surgery, including top surgery known as breast removal, and bottom surgery, which is the removal of birth genitalia and reconstruction of fake genitalia.

Dr. Goldfarb acknowledges that their figures could be even greater with better reporting.

Here are their key findings:

• 13,994 children received sex change treatments
• 5,747 sex change surgeries performed on children
• 8,579 minors received cross-sex hormones and puberty blockers
• 62,682 hormone and puberty blocker prescriptions were written for 8,579 pediatric patients.
• At least $119,791,202 was made from sex change treatments performed on minors

According to a report by the Willimas Institute published in June of 2022, 1.3 million adults identify as transgender, and 300,000 children between the ages of 13 and 17 do so as well.

Sixteen states, plus the District of Columbia, require insurance to cover gender transition care, which makes it easier to transition children. They include California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Montana, Nevada, New York, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, and Vermont.

Medicaid has covered gender treatments, including surgeries, blockers, and hormones, since 2014. And if insurance won’t pay for it, many teens and adults are turning to GoFundMe pages for their very expensive treatments and surgeries.

For instance, puberty blockers can cost up to $25,000 a year. Cross-sex hormones, such as estrogen and testosterone, can cost up to $2,400 a year and $4,200 a year respectively. These hormones will be required for the rest of their lives. Surgeries can cost on average $100,000 for complete gender reassignment.

Transgender care is a huge, lucrative market for drugmakers, doctors, and hospitals. It could quickly grow into a multi-billion dollar profit stream for the healthcare industry.

Insurance companies are quick to cover these treatments, and the number of patients wanting them is increasing exponentially. Are hospitals, doctors, and pharmaceutical companies guided more by profits than the Hippocratic Oath of ‘Do No Harm’?

Planned Parenthood’s New Plan

Not content with being the nation’s largest provider of abortions, Planned Parenthood is quickly becoming the leader in providing cross-sex hormones and puberty blockers.

Planned Parenthood (PP) guarantees that anyone can receive hormones without a mental health evaluation. They even promise same-day prescriptions.

According to Alliance Defending Freedom, at least 40,000 people went to PP for cross-sex hormones in 2023. That’s tens of millions of dollars in new profits.  But there are voices in the medical community speaking out.

Why is Planned Parenthood so interested in this new branch of service that inevitably leads to sterilization?

Rising Resistance to Gender Care

The American College of Pediatricians is fighting back against the transgender assault on minors. In June of 2024, they issued a statement urging healthcare professionals to stop transgender treatments for minors.

They state, “Evidence-based medical research now demonstrates there is little to no benefit from any or all suggested ‘gender affirming’ interventions for adolescents experiencing gender dysphoria.”

They urge their fellow medical organizations, such as the American Academy of Pediatrics, the American Psychological Association, and others, to follow the science and stop promoting gender-transitioning care.

Yet, most professional medical organizations in the U.S. continue to promote ‘gender-affirming care” and call bans on gender care for minors “dangerous.”

One has to ask doctors, hospital administrators, and drug CEOs…

Do they really care about the long-term health, happiness, and well-being of children? Or are all those millions of dollar signs blinding them to the truth?

Let’s pray

Lord, you are the God who heals, the Great Physician. We ask that You give Your wisdom to all doctors and medical professionals. We pray that medical professionals would follow Your creation truth of two genders only—male and female. Convict all in the health industry of the devastating and long-term harm they are doing to children and adults by promoting the dangerous ideology that gender can be changed. It’s a lie from the devil and a rebellion against You.

We ask that You bless all doctors and all in the healthcare industry with wisdom, skill and compassion. We pray that they be guided by your hand in their work asking you Lord for direction and clarity, and not put profits over patient care.

Lord, we pray more doctors, psychologists, and medical professionals have the courage to speak out against the dangers of puberty blockers, hormone therapies, and the lasting and detrimental effects of sex change operations. May they stand up for children and adults whose bodies and fertility are being destroyed by transgender ideology.

Heal me, O Lord, and I will be healed; save me and I will be saved, for you are the one I praise (Jeremiah 14:14).
