Death threats, terrorism, and antisemitism. It’s a sad fact that these topics are popping up in newsfeeds on a daily basis. The lies attached to them are even worse, but with careful discernment and prayer, it’s possible to dispel them all.

CNN Empathizes with Terrorists

The first lie told by the Left this week revolves around liberal news network CNN. While CNN insists that it provides unbiased, honest news coverage, the truth is that its version of reality is often skewed.

The New York Sun published an article titled CNN Is Not a Serious Organization: Embattled Network Denounced for Sympathetic Coverage of ISIS Terror Suspects. The piece points out the troubling fact that CNN is making terrorists appear like “normal teenagers enjoying the weather.”

CNN’s original post read like this: “Two Pennsylvania teenagers crossed into New York City Saturday morning for what could’ve been a normal day enjoying the abnormally warm weather. But in less than an hour, their lives would drastically change as the pair would be arrested for throwing homemade bombs during an anti-Muslim protest outside the home of Mayor Zohran Mamdani.”

The backlash to CNN’s version of reality was swift. The White House rapid response account on X responded, “No, they’re radical Islamic terrorists who threw an IED at a protest. We don’t do that in America. Fake News CNN is not a serious organization.”

Senator Eric Schmitt wrote, “CNN got this headline wrong. It should be: ‘Two radical Islamic terrorists came to NYC pledging allegiance to ISIS with bombs meant to kill Americans.’ There, fixed it for you.”

Other social media users were outraged by the CNN post. Many felt that the inappropriate, “casual tone” made the terrorists look like victims.

After the negative response, CNN tried to clean up its mess. A statement on X read,  “A post regarding the two individuals arrested for throwing homemade bombs outside of New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani’s home failed to reflect the gravity of the incident, thereby breaching the editorial standards we require for all our reporting. It therefore has been deleted.”

Editorial standards? This is just one of many incidents where editorial standards have not only fallen short but have disappeared altogether. These days, the Left goes out of its way to sympathize with radical Islam. Whether it’s raging feminists, LGBTQ activists, or fired-up socialists, there’s a clear alliance between these groups and the liberal media. The truth is that terrorism in any form should not be tolerated in America, and sympathy towards it is unacceptable.

Democratic Socialist Displays His True Colors

The next lie told by the Left this week involves Democratic socialist Graham Platner, who is currently running against Gov. Janet Mills in the Democrats’ US Senate primary. The liberal candidate has openly admitted that he has a tattoo that bears a striking resemblance to the Totenkopf, a Nazi symbol used by Hitler’s Schutzstaffel (SS).

While Platner insists he’s not a “secret Nazi,” his comments in recent months have led many to raise eyebrows. The New York Post points out, “In January, he told Nate Cornacchia, a conspiracy theorist fond of blaming the assassinations of JFK and Charlie Kirk on the tiny nation on the eastern edge of the Mediterranean (Israel), that he was a ‘longtime fan’ as the two sat down for an hour-long podcast interview.”  

Weeks after the interview, Platner retweeted a post from Stew Peters, a political influencer who has likened Judaism to a “death cult” and foments harmful Jewish conspiracy theories. Furthermore, Platner’s ad campaigns demonize Israel, with one insisting that “Gaza is a genocide,” and another asking “Why are we funding Netanyahu’s genocide in Palestine?”

The New York Post suggests, “The man knows what his base wants: a laundered version of the world’s oldest hatred.” Platner joins a long list of liberals such as California Gov. Gavin Newsom, former Vice President Kamala Harris, and New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani, all of whom support the “Gaza genocide” narrative.

Today’s Leftists claim they stand for freedom and democracy, but their words and actions say the exact opposite. In a world where down is up and up is down, Democratic candidates support what is evil, rather than ideals that bring true liberation. Their disguises, however, are being shed as Americans learn the truth about their intentions.

Deranged Woman Spews MAGA Death Threats

The next lie told by the Left this week comes from a vengeful woman in Florida who believes MAGA supporters should be shot on sight. Recently, a federal jury found Desiree Doreen Segari guilty of “interstate communication of a threat to injure.” The United States Attorney’s office stated, “Segari faces a maximum penalty of five years in federal prison. Her sentencing hearing is scheduled for May 5, 2026.”

Segari posted a TikTok video on August 17, 2025, where she declared, “People like that (MAGA supporters) respond to fear and terror and aggression, not logic and empathy and, I don’t know, intelligence. It just doesn’t work for them. Fear works.”

The deranged woman continued, “So if we all get our guns and use our Second Amendment right and our common sense – at this point this administration is begging us to rise up and revolt – and you see somebody with a MAGA hat, ‘Pew pew’ that’s what we do, that’s the way, it’s the only way.”

Segari mimicked the firing of a gun as she made her threats. Her rant increased as she exclaimed, “Put them back in their basements, make them scared again to be racist, homophobic, and terrible just awful [expletive],” and “MAGA people deserve to be terrified and scared to walk in the streets because they should know that real Americans are gonna [mouths expletive] kill them.”

The woman’s thirst for vengeance was so great that she included a caption in her video which read, “#seemagapewpewmaga starting a new trend, hope it catches on. Please spread the word. Share this video. Repost it. Use the hashtag all over the internet. Let’s go guys. It’s time to fight back in a potentially effective manner.”

The emotional and spiritual issues of this woman are obvious, but they were not created in a vacuum. Assassination culture is a real trend among far-Left supporters who see hate and death as the answer to their problems. But as followers of Jesus, we know the answer cannot come from violence and death threats. Jesus Christ is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. As the Prince of Peace, He is the only one who can set the captives free and heal our nation.

Lord Jesus, we know that rampant lies are a symptom of a deep, spiritual sickness in our nation. We pray for deliverance, healing, and restoration as these deceptions become more prevalent. Give us eyes to see and ears to hear as we counter all attacks on the truth.
