Beloved evangelist Billy Graham once said, “Because truth is unpopular does not mean that it should not be proclaimed.” These days, the left-wing media has no shame in proclaiming the opposite of the truth. In fact, it uses a bullhorn to blast falsehoods to the entire world. Thankfully, the truth always has a way of breaking through, despite the noise.

This week, the Left worked hard to muzzle the truth, hoping to drown out key details that shed light on the issues. But truth-tellers stepped in, proclaiming the unpopular but important facts.

Population Control through Abortion

The first lie told by the Left this week involves the United Nations Population Fund, also known as UNFPA, the United Nations’ sexual and reproductive health agency. Recently, the Trump Administration terminated all funding to the UN Population Fund, which amounted to approximately $377 million, or 40% of the fund. The action was taken in tandem with a pro-life executive order that President Trump signed in January 2025 that “prohibits American tax dollars from going to groups that promote or provide abortions overseas.”

Though the UNFPA insists that it supports millions of people living through humanitarian crises, and offers life-saving services to women around the world, the truth is that the UN population group “pushes abortions on other countries and has worked with China for decades to implement its forced abortion population control policies.”

The UNFPA website states, “Family planning is a human right. It gives women the power and agency to decide if, when, and with whom to have children.” It adds that it does not fund or perform abortions; however, it also does not “conceal information about abortions.” They specify that “in countries where abortion is legal, national health systems must make safe abortion care accessible to the full extent of the law.”

In response to President Trump’s funding cuts, Amnesty International USA, a left-leaning organization that supports abortion, LGBT “rights” and climate change, responded,

“Secretary Marco Rubio’s decision to once again block future funding for the UNFPA is yet another example in the Trump administration’s relentless stream of attacks on global human rights and health. This dangerous decision will disproportionally harm some of the world’s most marginalized people, as it compounds the damage already wrought by Rubio’s termination of more than $300 million of funding to the agency for 40 humanitarian programs around the world…The United States has been a critical funder of UNFPA, contributing to safer health outcomes throughout the world. In 2023, for example, U.S. funding to UNFPA served an estimated 24.2 million women and couples and helped to prevent an estimated 8.1 million unintended pregnancies, 2.6 million unsafe abortions, and 14,000 preventable maternal deaths.”

UNFPA and Communist China Working Together

Reggie Littlejohn, president of Women’s Rights Without Frontiers, previously told LifeNews, “UNFPA has been found to be complicit with coercive population control in China in the past, and I have no doubt that any unbiased investigation would find them complicit again. I have long advocated for the defunding of UNFPA.” The Women’s Rights Without Frontiers’ website explains, “in addition to sexual slavery, China’s One Child Policy also gives rise to a host of other human rights abuses such as gendercide, female suicide, stolen ‘illegal’ and ‘forsaken’ children, rioting and violence, ruined health because of botched forced abortions and involuntary sterilizations, an aging population, and oppression of the Tibetan and Uyghur peoples.”

Texas Congressman Chip Roy maintains, “The United Nations Population Fund is a globalist, Orwellian, propaganda machine that shills for the Chinese Communist Party and its brutal mandatory abortion practices. President Trump was absolutely right to end taxpayer funding to this corrupt and anti-life organization during his first term, and I look forward to him doing so again.”

 The Left wants the world to believe that the UNFPA protects mothers and babies when in reality it has helped perpetuate violence against those it claims to shelter with “humanitarian” aid.

Big Pharma Gets a Pass from the Media

The next lie peddled by the Left has to do with President Trump’s executive order titled Delivering Most-Favored-Nation Prescription Drug Pricing to American Patients. President Trump calls it “one of the most consequential executive orders in our country’s history.”

Section 1 of the order states the purpose: “The United States has less than five percent of the world’s population and yet funds around three-quarters of global pharmaceutical profits. This egregious imbalance is orchestrated through a purposeful scheme in which drug manufacturers deeply discount their products to access foreign markets, and subsidize that decrease through enormously high prices in the United States.

The United States has for too long turned its back on Americans, who unwittingly sponsor both drug manufacturers and other countries. These entities today rely on price markups on American consumers, generous public subsidies for research and development primarily through the National Institutes of Health, and robust public financing of prescription drug consumption through Federal and State healthcare programs. Drug manufacturers, rather than seeking to equalize evident price discrimination, agree to other countries’ demands for low prices, and simultaneously fight against the ability of public and private payers in the United States to negotiate the best prices for patients. The inflated prices in the United States fuel global innovation while foreign health systems get a free ride.

This abuse of Americans’ generosity, who deserve low-cost pharmaceuticals on the same terms as other developed nations, must end. Americans will no longer be forced to pay almost three times more for the exact same medicines, often made in the exact same factories.  As the largest purchaser of pharmaceuticals, Americans should get the best deal.”

President Trump has vowed to bring “Fairness to America” by cutting pharmaceutical and prescription drug prices by as much as 30% to 80%.

A Double Standard

If it were the Biden Administration announcing this executive order, the left-leaning media would be falling over themselves trying to cover the story with a favorable tone. The idea that Americans would no longer be forced to pay exorbitant prices for life-saving prescriptions would be labeled as amazing, miraculous, and downright earth-shattering. But remember that legacy news outlets are more interested in covering politics, rather than good policies.

Distorting the Truth

Senior Economics Columnist for the Epoch Times and president of the Brownstone Institute, Jeffrey A. Tucker, wrote an article titled The Case for the Most-Favored Nation Drug Pricing, where he calls out the Wall Street Journal for their obfuscation of the facts. Their headline, Trump’s Worst Idea Since Tariffs; the President is pitching a plan to outdo Democrats on drug price controls, is “wildly inaccurate,” according to Tucker, who stresses, “How is this price control? Put simply, it’s not. It is paying the global market price, just not the U.S. premium price that is seriously distorted by patent monopolies, restricted distribution, and so on. The claim that it is price control traces to the belief that foreign nations cap the price while the United States does not. Obviously, the pharmaceutical companies don’t like the Trump administration’s idea. They want to keep earning monopoly profits at taxpayer expense. It’s a gravy train. They claim it is necessary for research and development, but that is ridiculous and wrong.”

Tucker adds that “U.S. prices are not market prices…this is obviously not a free market, despite what the Wall Street Journal claims…the real market solution is to allow most-favored-nation drug pricing plus reimportation. What makes it genuinely confusing is how free-market advocates so reliably defend the United States’ heavy interventionalist, monopolistic, and tax-funded system of pharmaceutical distribution.”   

The Left can insist that forcing the pharmaceutical industry to lower drug prices is a bad idea, but this narrative doesn’t pass the smell test. Instead, their proclamations of confusing information leave a foul stench in the air.

Left Says Transgender Military Service is Honorable

A third lie proclaimed by the Left this week involves the transgender military ban that is currently taking effect. Liberal media outlets such as MSNBC see the ban as discriminatory and egregious, stating, “These people have passed every test they’ve faced along the way and built careers of service, only to see a president and his transphobic administration seize power and drive them out using noxious, bigoted language to do so. The policy, as written by Pentagon officials, declares that troops identifying as trans ‘conflicts with a soldier’s commitment to an honorable, truthful, and disciplined lifestyle,’ because they are trans.”

The reasoning of the Left does not hold water because, after all, is it truthful and honorable to pretend to be something you are not? If a man claims to be a woman when he is not, or a woman pretends to be a man when she is not, this is a blatant lie that flies in the face of a soldier’s commitment to honor and truth.

MSNBC elaborates, “In a country where trans people so often face casual bigotry in job and home-searching, the military was a place where they could build a career and a life under government protection. Now that the government is targeting them and kicking them out…This is no way for a government to treat a couple of million law-abiding, harmless citizens who simply want to be left alone — and in many cases, make the ultimate sacrifice for a government that’s now rejecting them.”

The above quote is filled with contradictions. Simply put, is it really harmless for a man or a woman to pretend to be something they are not? If this man or woman is serving in the military disguised as another sex, does this not cause confusion and distractions among other service members who are not attempting to defy reality and rational behavior? The idea that trans service members want to be left alone is nonsensical in that their very behavior brings attention to them, whether in the military or not. Consequently, acting out a lie in the military can bring disastrous consequences because the battlefield is not a game of pretend–it’s a life-or-death situation.

The Left wants you to believe that living a lie is harmless. Certainly, the Father of Lies would agree with this. As followers of Christ, we know that the truth must be proclaimed above the lies, no matter how unpopular it is to the Left.

Lord Jesus, even though the lies keep flowing like a steady stream, we pray you would help us expose them to the light. You are the Living Water who can forgive, cleanse, and redeem. We pray for truth to reign in our nation and for people to proclaim it.
