I Prayed have prayed
Lord, thank You for raising up a generation that is undeniably Yours and placing Your call upon their hearts.
Reading Time: 5 minutes

Looking back through history, we see that the Greatest Generation and the Silent Generation watched our country get thrust into war time and time again; they experienced some of our country’s darkest hours, including the Great Depression, though they also witnessed victories; they watched as America put a man on the moon, and they heard Martin Luther King describe his great dream. The baby boomers have arguably contributed more to moving the U.S. forward and pushing us into our current tech age than any other generation (just ask my dad). Generation X took what the boomers started and ran with it, pushing the envelope further and further. Each of these generations has contributed to the betterment of society. But many might say that there are two generations that are, for all intents and purposes, completely and utterly lost.

We have all experienced it. A new hire is made at the office. The collective sigh of coworkers is heard echoing down the halls when it is discovered that the new person is a millennial, or even worse, a member of Generation Z. Then the chatter commences: “They are lazy; they are entitled; they don’t listen to authority; they contribute nothing.” Millennials, also called Gen Y (I think of them as “Gen Why”), definitely have a reputation that precedes them — or have they just gotten a bad rap?

It seems that they, and the generation coming up behind them, Gen Z, live in an altered state of reality. This goes far beyond their weird clothes, their body piercings, and their rainbow hair. They cannot differentiate between male and female. They think that changing their God-given gender is normal. They think that drag-queen performances should be available to all ages, and not just available — but encouraged. They don’t believe that sex should be reserved as only between one man and one woman who are married; no, they have lost sight of this truth to such an extent that they think it cool to be “queer,” or worse, “polyamorous”: engaging in relationships with all types of “genders,” or with multiple partners at once. Redefining words to fit their whims has become the norm. And “canceling” those who disagree with them is a self-righteous act signaling more virtue than anyone can possibly imagine. What is wrong to us is right to them. Where have we lost our way?

So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them (Genesis 1:27 KJV).

But since sexual immorality is occurring, each man should have sexual relations with his own wife, and each woman with her own husband. The husband should fulfill his marital duty to his wife, and likewise the wife to her husband (1 Corinthians 7:2–3 NIV).

Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter (Isaiah 5:20 NIV).

G. Michael Hopf wrote in Those Who Remain: A Postapocalyptic Novel: “Hard times create strong men. Strong men create good times. Good times create weak men. And, weak men create hard times.”

Alexander Fraser Tytler’s Cycle of Civilizations describes something similar: a period lasting roughly 200 years and in which society begins in bondage and goes forward through several steps — spiritual faith, courage, liberty, abundance, selfishness, complacency, apathy, and dependence — before returning to bondage.

I think Hopf and the Tytler Cycle sum up very well what we have seen over the past seven generations or so. We are certainly experiencing the latter parts right now. But there is hope!

I belong to Gen X. (More precisely, I am from a micro-generation within Gen X called the “Xennials.” It is said that we were born analog but grew up digital.) The millennials follow right behind us. In fact, it is not uncommon for some people to fall at the end of Gen X while their younger siblings come in at the start of the millennials. Gen X includes many in our national leadership who are now trying to reclaim our country from the nonsense of leftists hell-bent on installing communism (as socialism/Marxism, of course) in this country. Such men as Gov. Ron DeSantis and Sen. Ted Cruz come to mind. Interestingly, my husband and I share something in common with those men besides belonging to the same generation: We are parents of young children.

When my husband and I go out anywhere with our son, we are stopped by folks who just want to come up and see our boy. They are drawn by his bright eyes, beaming smile, laugh, good behavior, gentle soul, and countenance. They just have to come up to meet him! And I mean this happens everywhere we go, and every time! We have known that there was something special about him since the day we learned he was coming. And in fact, he was not even supposed to be possible: I have some medical issues that doctors told us would make conceiving a child impossible. But nothing is impossible with God! After 18 years of marriage, my husband and I were shocked and delighted to learn that we were going to be parents. And ever since our son’s arrival, he has touched everyone he meets. You cannot be sad or upset when you are around him; there is, indeed, something special about him: It is God’s anointing and His love shining through him!

One day I sat considering the generations. I realized that I did not know what my son’s generation was called, so I Googled it. What I learned brought me to tears: It’s called Generation Alpha! I felt God saying that it will be through Generation Alpha that He brings His “new beginning.” And I sensed Him saying also that it is my generation’s duty — as Gen X — to X out the evil that has been allowed to flourish in our country and in the world. You see? It is our responsibility, our duty, to put a stop to the schemes of Satan and overcome the leftist attempts to not only bring our country to its knees, but to destroy any ounce of what America used to look like. We must do this for our children.

“But whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in Me to sin, it would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck, and he were drowned in the depth of the sea” (Matthew 18:6 NKJV).

Over the past 40 or 50 years, my parents’ and grandparents’ generations sat by idly and allowed evil to flourish in this nation. This started out quietly enough but has since spread like a virus into every aspect of society. At times it may seem as if the virus cannot be stopped, as if Satan has gained too much ground, as if we are fighting a losing battle. But that is not what God’s word tells us! We have victory in Him because — guess what — in the end, God wins.

“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world” (John 16:33 NIV).

So, I beseech you, dear reader, if you are like me and cannot sit quietly by any longer watching our country die, if you feel a calling on your heart to help stop the evil plaguing our nation, stand up with us! Once we have done our job of eradication, our children, Gen Alpha, will carry the torch further than we can ask or imagine. God has placed His mantle upon them. There is, indeed, something special about Gen Alpha! There is, indeed, hope!

He has delivered us from such a deadly peril, and he will deliver us again. On him we have set our hope that he will continue to deliver us, as you help us by your prayers. Then many will give thanks on our behalf for the gracious favor granted us in answer to the prayers of many (2 Corinthians 1:10–11 NIV).

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future” (Jeremiah 29:11 NIV).

Our older son(48) and his wife(38) had their first child in March of “22,, a delightful girl, Maya. She is very outgoing, loves to wave at people, and go outside to see everything and everybody. She is just so full of life and brings joy to those around her. I like very much the idea of her being part of the Alpha generation.
I believe with you that this newest generation is a sign of a new beginning for the church and our nation and our amazing Lord has not given up on His people or our country. He is going to bring many many more into His Kingdom before He returns. He loves more than we can imagine!

From A.W. Tozer: It is tremendously important that we know what God is like. The answer is more valuable and of greater importance than any other question you could ask. If you know the answer, it will carry you a long way in serving Him. Whatever God does in my direction, I can rest assured that it is exactly what I need it to be and what He wants me to be. Prayer: O God, I often feel the pressure of the outside world endeavoring to conform me into its image. How glad I am that nothing pressures Thee into doing anything. All Thou doest flows from a heart of infinite love. Glory be to God!

Amen! Please though, do not give up on the Millenials and Gen Z. It is Gen Z that experienced the Asbury revival which is spreading to other colleges and it is Gen Z that just Filled a Stadium with worshipers. We must not accept Satan’s characterizations of the generations – the Lord wants to recharacterize them. Love hopes all things – and as we pray and hope, we can participate in God’s ministry to these beleaguered generations which are already bringing forth young people with great courage and faith. Restoration will not happen without the participation of all generations, so that the Lord gets the glory, not a generation!

AMEN Ann! Thank you for this sweet word of truth, encouragement and gentler rebuke to the sweet author than I likely would have given.
There is nothing new under the sun. Poppa God said it, not me dear author.
Each generation has strengths and weaknesses, we need to learn from each other..
I hear you, have even felt as you do, more than a few times…and I am about to celebrate 65 years on the planet and today I am celebrating Mothers Day, so thankful for our 3 sons, 37, 34 and 34.
That said, I can attest to the truth this author conveys, to pray for our children, that God pour into them and prepare them for their ‘for such a time as this’. Our sons lived through 9/11, sitting in elementary school. A friend and I prayed together after the first tower was attacked to protect and equip our kids for what they would endure…to be lights in the darkness…to make us parents ready to trust Him deeper, obey faster, more completely too, so our kids could safely learn good lessons of faith by watching us live out ours…I have no doubt this is what Poppa God wants too, from every generation…may we all in this generation be found faithful.

Yes and Amen!
A prayer of gratitude I lift often, praise for God bringing up a younger generation to pick up the mantle my generation dropped and carry it through to REFORMATION, not JUST revival this time.
Praise His name for letting me be born in such a time as this!

Thank you Alysha. I too am Gen X. Specifically, and Xennial as you stated. My heart breaks for Gen Z. In times past i did bear alot of frustration always looking at the negative. But the Lord dealt with me on that. Now I have also seen God working through them. My nieces and nephews that I love dearly are Gen alpha and this was such an encouragement to read. I have often asked the Lord, after noticing Gen z, what will the world look like for the alpha Gen? But this gives me something to pray into. Thank you for sharing your story and insight.

I suggest you go to YouTube and look up Jesus Image School.
They are just ONE example of how many younger people God drawing to Himself.
Young people with hearts burning with the desire to know a deep rooted relationship with Jesus, learn what gifts and talents He has given them and how to use them to increase The Kingdom.
Watching their videos is only one way God has provided that keeps building my faith in Him and my hope for the world.

I have not heard the word, Gen Alpha, but I believe that and am excited to hear it said clearly. Can the writer tell us the age of this generation and maybe the age of all mentioned in the article? Bless you for all the prayers that are prayed for out nation and the people. Sylvia McCullars, Florida

Going to media sources that show more positive than negative, like Jesus Image, which you can find on YT.
Younger generations are clamoring to get into the schools of Holy Spirit filled Schools of Supernatural teachings in how to identify and use the gifts and talents God has given them, from Redding California to Orlando FL., Kentucky Texas, Tennessee, and Oklahoma. I am sure there are more I don’t know about but I know there are churches and schools all over this country that SPIRITUALLY HUNGRY YOUNG PEOPLE are flocking to from AROUND the world.
    Aslan’s on the move!
