Waking Up to Glory
The following is an excerpt from our devotional series Living on the Right Side of Glory.
It is too easy to live in the pit of despair, animosity, depression, and angst. It is so easy to dwell on the reality of what seems to be a crumbling foundation of ALL that this country was founded upon. It is easy to become consumed by fear – fear of tomorrow, fear for our children, fear of all our freedoms being stolen, fear of persecution and hate…

It is true – this life was guaranteed to be full of trouble. We WILL come against trouble, persecution, and suffering. We may in fact be marginalized and shamed. BUT, be of good cheer, HE has OVERCOME this world!
I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have [perfect] peace. In the world you have tribulation and distress and suffering, but be courageous [be confident, be undaunted, be filled with joy]; I have overcome the world.” [My conquest is accomplished, My victory abiding.] (Jn 16:33 AMP)
There is JOY, contentment, and peace in knowing WHOSE we are! We will ALL experience those feelings of dread, fear, and angst come up at some time or other. It’s hard to read or watch any of mainstream media and not feel those emotions brewing. But we are not to be a people marked by fear! When we feel all those negative emotions threatening our well-being, it’s time to stop, breathe, and REST in His LOVE. Take EVERY thought captive and allow Him to reorient your meditations so they are consumed by Him. It is only from that place of confidence that we can move forth BOLDLY and TRIUMPHANTLY – because we KNOW that as the Lord leads us, chains WILL break, mountains WILL be thrown into the sea and captives WILL be set free!
There is no fear in love [dread does not exist]. But perfect (complete, full-grown) love drives out fear, because fear involves [the expectation of divine] punishment, so the one who is afraid [of God’s judgment] is not perfected in love [has not grown into a sufficient understanding of God’s love]. (1 Jn 4:8 AMP)
Do not yield to fear, for I am always near. Never turn your gaze from me, for I am your faithful God.
I will infuse you with my strength and help you in every situation.
I will hold you firmly with my victorious right hand.’…I am Yahweh, your mighty God!
I grip your right hand and won’t let you go!
I whisper to you: ‘Don’t be afraid; I am here to help you!’ (Is 41:10, 13 TPT)
DECLARATION:
Fear, you are a liar; we vanquish you! We choose today to rest in our Savior’s love. And it is from that place of security that we will move forth!
PRAYER:
Father, we surrender our hearts fully towards Your’s. Clear out space in our minds where we have allowed anything other than You to take up residence. Free us to live fully as You call us to live in this hour.
We place all those things we wrestle with and worry about at Your feet and ask that You transform our hearts and minds where we are still holding back. We want to be warriors for You and Your kingdom – and we want to be fully submitted to our Commander’s lead! Teach us to live kingdom-minded today. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Stick with our devotional journey as we learn to live in the reality of the Glory of God.
