I Prayed have prayed
Lord, we thank you for the gift of faith and unity. Through all that has happened this past year, you have never once left our side. Would you take us deeper than ever before and grow our faith to new levels!
Reading Time: 3 minutes

We do not have to look very far to realize there are many things which need prayer in our nation today.

Fear is rampant. Anxiety has gripped many. Uncertainty has touched us all. Yet, none of those things were on my mind this morning as I thought about praying for our country.

The first thing I felt God led me to pray about was unity.

Behold, how good and how pleasant it is

For brethren to dwell together in unity!

It is like the precious oil upon the head,

Running down on the beard,

The beard of Aaron,

Running down on the edge of his garments.

It is like the dew of Hermon,

Descending upon the mountains of Zion;

For there the Lord commanded the blessing—

Life forevermore (Ps 133:1-3).

There is a place where God commands a blessing. That place is unity.

Our country is called the UNITED States of America. According to Webster’s Dictionary, the word united is defined as: Joined; made to agree; cemented; mixed; attached by growth.

The enemy has fought the most in our nation at the place of unity. He is doing everything he can to create division. Division in race. In politics. In gender. His plan is to divide. There is no commanded blessing from God where there is division, and he knows that.

While I know it is not possible for us to agree on all things – I feel certain we can agree on some things, don’t you?

We can agree we desire the plan of God for our nation. We can agree we want the best for the people of this nation. We desire one nation under God. Can we not agree on those things?

Can we agree we want to please God with our faith and prayer life? Yes! Then let’s unify and pray for unity in our nation.

Another definition of united is “attached by growth.” I love that!

2 Peter 3:18 says, “But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.”

Colossians 1:9-10 says, “For this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you. We continually ask God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all the wisdom and understanding that the Spirit gives, so that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God.”

I have learned from experience that when I grow in God, I desire more unity in my life.

I believe as we grow in God, we grow in unity, because our desire to please God increases. Division does not please God. His Word says a house divided cannot stand. Yet, He promises a COMMANDED blessing in unity. I desire that commanded blessing for our cities, our states and our nation. I am convinced God is just waiting and desires to command that blessing, that comes with unity, upon our nation.

Today, I ask you to pray with me, that first of all, truth be revealed all across America. Then pray for unity. Unity in your home. Unity between man and wife. Unity with your children and grandchildren. Unity in your city. Unity in our government, and unity in our great nation.

Let’s lay hold of that commanded blessing together.

United we stand.

Let’s stand Church and bring unity back to our nation! For with GOD all things are possible, and NOTHING is impossible to him who believes. I believe, how about you?

Thank you for the word of encouragement. His Word urges us to live a life worthy of the calling you have received. Be completely humble, gentle, be patient, bearing with one another in love. Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace. May the Holy Spirit in us teach us to love one another for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. whoever does not love does not know God because God is LOVE. May we love one another that the world will know we are His by our love for one another. I think maybe the love scripture exhorts us in is the glue that holds us as one. Do you think God is working on His Church to love one another, that we can be unified? With His life in us, I believe it will be done. May His Name be glorified and praised.

Kim, thank you for bring this up. I feel the impact of this word which is incredibly applicable at this critical time. I am in agreement with you that we need to be pursuing this in our lives now and I will definitely include it in my prayers. Our Savior works powerfully in and through us when we link our arms together in God’s love and purpose.
May God bless you even more.

    Blessings Kim,
This is something I have been thinking about too. The enemy is working overtime to keep is divided. They’re definitely using race to try and keep us divided. From BLM, to asian hate, the border crisis, and the most recent conflict with Israel and Palestine. We always get a one sided story that suits the medias agenda bringing greater division. It reminded me of Babel. An unholy unity that is truly meant to oppose God. I feel the heart of God through this message and I am in full agreement with your prayers.
    United we stand.
