Eight years ago, Joe Kennedy was removed from his position as football coach at Bremerton High School. Now, after several court battles across America, he is set to return to his position in September.

First Liberty represented Kennedy in his battle for religious freedom. Oral arguments took place in April of last year, and on June 27, 2022, the Supreme Court ruled in Kennedy’s favor. The justices overturned Lemon v. Kurtzman in the process, turning Kennedy v. Bremerton School District into one of the most significant religious freedom victories in America’s history.
In March of this year, the Bremerton School District announced that Kennedy would be returning to his job. On Sept. 1, Kennedy will return to the football field at Bremerton High School as a coach. To celebrate this monumental occasion, Coach Kennedy and First Liberty are inviting believers across the nation to pray in agreement on the night of Bremerton’s first football game.

When praying on our knees, we acknowledge that God is our Father, our Creator, and our Savior; we humble ourselves before the God who loves us and guides us throughout our lives. Yes, I will be on my knees worshiping My God, King, and praying for healing on earth, and its people, and thanking Him for his everlasting love.
It is time for Christians to stand up and be counted! I’m thanking God for this victory!

Lord, may we celebrate our religious freedoms so that we don’t lose them!
May every Alaskan border be anointed whether by the aid of Bush Pilots or Spiritual Translation and Holy Spirit Visions. May the Spirit lay it upon Pauls, Johns, Philips and Elijahs to complete the work this week.

My idea is that I pray to God. If I have to suffer for it, then oh, well, Christ’s honor is more important.
I’m grateful to see this victory. I would ask Christians to try & financially support organizations like First Liberty, ADF, ACLJ or others who take on legal cases that are critical to the defense of our freedoms & the Constitution. Even if it’s once in awhile, I’m sure they would appreciate it. Anything is helpful. Remember the example of the widow’s mite in God’s word. The smallest donation is helpful. Please don’t get caught thinking that a small donation can’t make a difference – it can!! God will bless & multiply your faithfulness, large or small.
There will be ongoing battles in the future & anyway we can support & help those on the front lines will be greatly appreciated by those who are involved.
I don’t work for any legal firms… I just know how important it is to support these people.
Thank you Heavenly Father for your wonder working power. You have us in the palm of your hand. Jesus your name is above all names. Thank you for defending us. Holy Spirit, I ask that you move on this nation one more time. Get us on our knees before it’s too late. We love you Lord. Bless us with your presence and teach us your ways. We pray in your mighty name Christ Jesus! Amen
Thank you, Heavenly Father, for Coach Kennedy who was willing and enabled by You to exercise his freedoms guaranteed by the U.S. Constitution. May his example be an encouragement to the rest of us who must not back away from our convictions and our God given rights. He won back the right to express his thankfulness to God and for that I say amen and amen.

Lord you are Sovereign beyond our comprehension! There is nothing that is impossible with you and you hear the cries of the righteous. I thank you fir this victory and how fitting Lord that it is on September 1 … the day you brought me into this world. I am beyond joyful fir this coach and ask for your covering over him and his family. The battle may have been long but the victory is Yours!!! You truly always fight our battles like no other. We give You Abba and Lord all Glory Honor and Praise 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
Thanking and Praising You Father God, in Jesus’ Steadfast Love for this Victory. Truly blessed by Coach Kennedy’s faith, perseverance and humility. So grateful for First Liberty’s attorneys and staff for standing up for our right to pray. Will definitely take a knee on September 1st.
