Patrick Moore, a founder of a prominent climate change activist group, explains the lies in the movement and why he left.
From The Epoch Times. Patrick Moore, one of the founders of Greenpeace, said in an email obtained by The Epoch Times that his reasons for leaving Greenpeace were very clear: “Greenpeace was ‘hijacked’ by the political left when they realized there was money and power in the environmental movement. [Left-leaning] political activists in North America and Europe changed Greenpeace from a science-based organization to a political fundraising organization,” Moore said.

Moore left Greenpeace in 1986, 15 years after he co-founded the organization.
“The ‘environmental’ movement has become more of a political movement than an environmental movement,” he said. “They are primarily focused on creating narratives, stories, that are designed to instill fear and guilt into the public so the public will send them money.”
He said they mainly operate behind closed doors with other political operatives at the U.N., World Economic Forum, and so on, all of which are primarily political in nature.
The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change [IPCC] is “not a science organization,” he said. “It is a political organization composed of the World Meteorological Organization and the United Nations Environment Program.
“The IPCC hires scientists to provide them with ‘information’ that supports the ‘climate emergency’ narrative.
Their campaigns against fossil fuels, nuclear energy, CO2, plastic, etc., are misguided and designed to make people think the world will come to an end unless we cripple our civilization and destroy our economy. They are now a negative influence on the future of both the environment and human civilization.”
“Today, the left has adopted many policies that would be very destructive to civilization as they are not technically achievable. Only look at the looming energy crisis in Europe and the UK, which Putin is taking advantage of. But it is of their own making in refusing to develop their own natural gas resources, opposing nuclear energy, and adopting an impossible position on fossil fuels in general,” Moore wrote.
The Left ‘Hijacked’ Greenpeace
He said “green” for the environment and “peace” for the people were the organization’s founding principles, but peace was largely forgotten, and green had become the sole agenda.
“Many [so-called] ‘environmental’ leaders were now saying that ‘humans are the enemies of the Earth, the enemies of Nature.’ I could not accept that humans are the only evil species. This is too much like ‘original sin,’ that humans are born with evil, but all the other species are good, even cockroaches, mosquitos, and diseases,” Moore argued.
He said the new dominant philosophy is that the world would be better if fewer people existed.
“But the people who said this were not volunteering to be the first to go away. They behave as if they are superior to others. This kind of ‘pride’ and ‘conceit’ is the worst of the Cardinal Sins,” Moore said.
Environmental Activist
As a prominent scholar, ecologist, and long-time leader in the international environmental field, Patrick Moore is widely regarded as one of the world’s most qualified experts on the environment. He is also a founder of Greenpeace, the world’s largest environmental activist organization.
Moore received his Ph.D. in Ecology from the University of British Columbia in 1974 and an Honorary Doctorate of Science from North Carolina State University in 2005.
He co-founded Greenpeace in 1971 and served as president of Greenpeace Canada for nine years. From 1979 to 1986, Moore served as the Director of Greenpeace International, a driving force shaping the group’s policies and directions. During his 15-year tenure, Greenpeace became the world’s largest environmental activist organization.
In 1991, Moore founded Greenspirit, a consultancy focusing on environmental policies, energy, climate change, biodiversity, genetically modified food, forests, fisheries, food, and resources.
Between 2006 and 2012, Moore served as co-chairman of the Clean and Safe Energy Coalition, a U.S.-based environmental advocacy group.
In 2014, he was appointed Chairman of Ecology, Energy, and Prosperity of Frontier Centre for Public Policy, a non-partisan Canadian public policy think tank.
In 2019 and 2020, Moore served as the Chair of CO2 Coalition, a U.S.-based nonprofit environmental advocacy group dedicated to disputing false claims on CO2 as relates to climate change. …
False Narrative on Polar Bears
When asked how Greenpeace utilizes its massive donations, Moore said it was used to pay for “a very large staff” (likely over 2,000), extensive advertisements, and fundraising programs. And virtually all of the organization’s ads for fundraising are based on false narratives, which he had thoroughly disproven in his books, one example being the polar bears.
“The International Treaty on Polar Bears, signed by all polar countries in 1973, to ban unrestricted hunting of polar bears, is never mentioned in the media, Greenpeace, or politicians who say the polar bear is going extinct due to melting ice in the Arctic. In fact, the polar bear population has increased from 6,000 to 8,000 in 1973 to 30,000 to 50,000 today. This is not disputed,” Moore said. …
The Goal of the ‘Environmental Apocalypse’ Theory
“I believe the human population has always been vulnerable to people who predict doom with false stories,” Moore said.
“The Aztecs threw virgins into volcanos, and the Europeans and Americans burned women as witches for 200 years claiming this would ‘save the world’ from evil people. This has been [referred to as] ‘herd mentality,’ ‘groupthink,’ and ‘cult behavior.’ Humans are social animals with a hierarchy, and it is easiest to gain a high position by using fear and control.”
Moore said the environmental apocalypse theory is mostly about “political power and control,” adding that he is dedicated to showing people that the situation is not as negative as they are told.
“Today, in the richest countries, our descendants are making decisions that our grandchildren will have to pay for,” he said. “Predictions that the world is coming to an end have been made for thousands of years. Not once has this come true. Why should we believe it now?”
“People are naturally afraid of the future because it is unknown and full of risks and difficult decisions. I believe there is also an element of ‘self-loathing’ in this apocalypse movement.”
Moore said the young generation today is taught that humans are not worthy and are destroying the earth. This indoctrination has made them feel guilty and ashamed of themselves, which is the wrong way to go about life.
The Demonization of Carbon Dioxide
“Very few people believe the world is not warming. The record is clear that the world has been warming since about the year 1700, 150 years before we were using fossil fuels. 1700 was the peak of the Little Ice Age, which was very cold and caused crop failures and starvation. Before that, around 1000 A.D. was the Medieval Warm period when Vikings farmed Greenland. [And] before that, around 500 A.D. were the Dark Ages, and before that, the Roman Warm Period when it was warmer than today, and the sea level was 1–2 meters higher than today,” Moore said.
“Even until about 1950, the amount of fossil fuel used and CO2 emitted were very small compared to today. We do not know the cause of these periodic fluctuations in temperature, but it was certainly not CO2.”
Moore clarified that the “minority opinion” is not about the history of the Earth’s temperature, but it is the relationship between the temperature and CO2 that is at the center of the dispute.
“In this regard, I agree that many believe CO2 is the main cause of warming. CO2 is invisible, so no one can actually see what it is doing. And this ‘majority’ are mainly scientists paid by politicians and bureaucrats, media making headlines, or activists making money. [The rest are] the public who believe this story even though they can’t actually see what CO2 is doing,” Moore said.
Moore provided a graph of temperature continuously measured over 350 years (from 1659 to 2009) in central England. “If carbon dioxide was the main cause of warming, then there should be a rise in temperature along the carbon dioxide curve, but it doesn’t,” he explained.
Moore described the demonization of CO2 as “completely ridiculous.” He added that CO2 is the basis of all life on Earth and its concentration in the atmosphere today, even with the increase, is lower than it has been for a large majority of life’s existence. …
‘Wind and Solar Power Are Parasites on the Economy’
“Solar and wind power are both very expensive and very unreliable. It is almost like a mental illness that so many people have been brainwashed to think entire countries can be supported with these technologies,” Moore said.
“I believe wind and solar energy are parasites on the larger economy. In other words, they make the country poorer than if other more reliable and less costly technologies were used.”
Moore said that wind and solar providers rely heavily on government subsidies, tax write-offs, and mandates, where citizens are forced to buy wind and solar power even if it is more expensive, on the pretext that it is “environmentally friendly.”
“Millions of people pay more for wind and solar energy while a few people make millions of dollars, marks, pounds, etc. It is a bit like a Ponzi scheme in the stock markets,” Moore added.
“They require vast areas of land, are not available most of the time, and require reliable energy such as nuclear, hydroelectric, [coal, and natural] gas to be available when wind and solar are unavailable.” …

He is telling us what many of us have caught on to and God has been revealing propheticly. The elite are having meetings that they want to devise ways for less people. “Seeing themselves as superior. “. Trump spoke about the international meetings they were having prior to the making of covid19. The LORD alerted me back in fall of 2021 they were creating more biological weapons. He’s also stated “Let my people go”. I believe we need to pray more into these exposures and people who are aware and know it’s wrong to begin to expose the truth. And for justice to be done with these elites.
I thought it was a hoax from the beginning. Only a modicum of chemistry, or biology study will tell you that. It was obviously a money maker for those crooks in high places. And the windmills and solar, HA, try living in a state where the sun hardly shines in winter, and the wind blows where and when it will. Dear God, give us patience and the will to pray more.

I remember the hole in the ozone layer that was supposedly increasing at an alarming rate and would soon cause the sun to destroy all living things. Then Mt. St. Helen’s erupted and the global temperature decreased by a degree.
God has this! He has been controlling the weather, the tides, the ice caps and glaciers. He has a pretty good handle on things. I believe that the hysteria that is being subscribed to today are more a product of ego than ecology. Man is desperate to validate his importance on this planet, when in reality, the planet would do just fine without him.

I appreciate the main premise of this article, but it does perpetuate one myth that is widely believed: that “Europeans and Americans burned women as witches for 200 years claiming this would ‘save the world’ from evil people” First of all, though it is true that purported witches were burned to death in Europe over a fairly lengthy period of time, not a single accused witch was burned at the stake (or anywhere else) in America, though some were executed. And the witch trials n American lasted for a fairly brief period of time (not even close to a century, let alone 200 years).
Father God, I thank you for never ending exposure concerning our America and the criminal actions that have being played out over the years, the lies about our environment that has pushed many false agendas. God says he has no problem of people having money, what he does say about when they make it a God, to weaponize others by taking money from people to do other things with the trusted donations. Go to “Doctors for Disaster Preparedness” website. Listen to recent lecture (2022) given by Bonner Cohen PhD about climate “change” that was VERY GOOD. Climate change, such as it is, is NORMAL, as it has happened throughout time. The carbon dioxide and nitrogen scare is both a farce and an absolute lie. Carbon dioxide levels are necessary for plant growth and fruiting. The carbon dioxide levels have been ANY times higher in the past than they are now. Increased CO2 means increased amount of trees and plants and healthy fruit/veggies/nuts. The nitrogen is absolutely necessary for good plant yields. Nitrogen can also be found in urine, so when restorative farming is done, the animals naturally fertilize the ground and plants that are growing in the spaces

Thank you for this post. I have been discovering supporting information for the lack of correlation of temperature with CO2. It is really good to hear about this issue of politicization of the green agenda from an insider. I think there is room for solar and wind energy to supplement other methods of electricity generation, but I agree it is more expensive than traditional methods such as nuclear and natural gas turbines.
The EU has three options on the possible energy crisis, a. convert to nuclear energy on a short term basis, until the outcome of the Russo Ukraine War, b. to convert to a fossil fuel energy on a short term basis until the outcome of the Russo Ukraine War. c. to negoitate a bargaining chip with Russia, to allow a energy source from Russia, with resolutions to end the Russo Ukraine War. I told these same things to my college students for years and years, but most refused to believe me because that’s not what their other instructors were telling them. Uninformed opinion has replaced facts in too much of college teaching. Too much of politics has invaded the college campuses. Searching for truth has been too often replaced with believing what is politically correct. Knowledge is becoming secondary to feelings. A sad situation.
This article confirms much of how I have viewed the liberal global warming movement and refuels my anger at it. It seemed to start with Al Gore’s book, “An Inconvenient Truth” which really was/is a Convenient Lie for corrupt, greedy politicians and others to profit by manipulating a large part of the population through fear and misinformation. I pray for God to bring a great revealing of truth about this movement and His justice upon those who are exploiting a huge false narrative. We know God will bring His truth and justice at the end times. It is my hope and prayer that we may see some before then. God is the master planner with perfect timing. Praise and glory to the Father and Jesus and the Holy Spirit.

Mr. Moore is not alone in his quest for truth about “global warming” and it’s cause(s). A well documented source of non-political research and dialogue can be found in a book by S. Fred Singer, entitled “Hot Talk, Cold Science”. The scientific community has arrived at much the same conclusions as Mr. Moore and can demonstrate with science based research and data that CO2 is not the problem the politicians want us to think it is.
From a congressional aide to Ron Paul I learned that Gorbachev, when he was the KGB head, instructed communists worldwide to stop identifying with the color, red, a start identifying with green. Green Parties sprung up all over the world the following year. Thus, I don’t believe Greenpeace was hijacked. It was a communist front from its inception.
In the late 1990’s, Rollye James interviewed a scientist on WWDB, who was hired by the UN to study global warming. He said the UN hired 10,000 scientists for this research altogether. They appointed 100 to supervise 9,890 and 10 to supervise the 100. The scientist Rollye interviewed was 1 of those top 10. He told her that none of the scientists found any evidence, after years of research, to prove global warming would be a problem. However, the UN rewrote their report to make it say the opposite. All of the top 10 scientists, who wrote the original report, were outraged at the deception because the UN left their names on the new report to give it credibility. He made a few references to the people he dealt with at the UN acting like religious fanatics. Being a talk show, I phoned in to ask if their religious fanaticism had anything to do with the fact that a satanist named Alice Bailey founded the Lucifer Pub. Co. at the UN Plaza in 1953. He said he had no proof that I was right, but was inclined to agree with me. He added that the Lucifer Pub. Co. shut down in 1990 & merged with the Lucis Trust across the street. I later learned that Alice Bailey also founded the Lucis Trust during the 1920’s to promote world government under the League of Nations.
When I was a missionary to New Zealand between 2003-2010, the Lord opened a door to meet the Prime Minister in 2005. When I was being escorted into Helen Clark’s presence, the Holy Spirit activated discernment to see a black cloud of demons swirling around her. When I was close enough to look her in the eye, the Holy Spirit exposed a demonic entity looking at me thru her eyes. The Holy Spirit spoke and said, “She is no longer at home in her body. The demonic entity you see has total control over her life. Everything she says and does as PM is motivated by that spirit.” She was not re-elected that year, but she was promoted to the third most powerful position in the UN. Amen Lucilla, I agree with your prayer against fear-based thinking.. because no matter how much evidence is presented.. once any group of people.. seemingly the larger the more it happens.. as an entire society.. some type of phenomenon takes over.. where people are- I guess ..feel safe and warm and fuzzy ..feeling bad about themselves- and condemning other people , as well..thereby condemning their own reflection.. and they want to believe the worst while chastising everyone as much as possible.. yes-.so this fear thing is ridiculous.. and is being used against us as- in the now famously documented case of the Stockholm syndrome -where people were coerced into fear-based thinking- about being physically sick.. and all of the same manifestations of social control that are being put up on us now.. and they were duped into it using Marxist techniques.. that were eventually successful in that effort. And if the Lord hopefully intervenes fast enough.. as I know he is now.. hopefully we will be saved from this.. I believe we are headed on the path of rescue.. but it makes it harder when people are so willing to be duped into being victims.

I didn’t pay much attention to it in the late 1960’s – early 1970’s. The corrupt media and greedy politicians were mostly talking about the next “Ice Age”. When they couldn’t get much of the industrialized world to fund that, the same groups started trying to scare everyone about “Global Warming”. When they couldn’t panic people in the colder parts of the industrialized world, (northern US, Canada, much of Europe, etc. the same groups started calling everything “Climate Change”.
In my opinion it’s all a political boondoggle created by small selfish, greedy minds to attempt to scare the people of the world into tolerating allowing greedy politicians to spend money they don’t have, on things they don’t need, to pretend they are helping people they don’t know.
In order to control all of us.
This is why it is imperative.. beyond any measure that can be stated.. that we are all involved in speaking our voices,taking our stand, getting involved in any level of government that we can in our communities ..and continuing to learn more and more about how to do that- until we can move up in the ranks, and become the citizen government we were supposed to be, originally- as our founders envisioned.

Generally, I feel that conservatives are OK with killing the environment and liberals are OK with killing the babies. That is a huge generalization, but I have noticed the trend. We don’t need to do either. I have noticed the pollution, and the trend towards deforestation. I don’t think those things are good. Why do we need to destroy ecosystems in an endless exploration for more oil, even in areas with fragile ecosystems? It is not an either/or. As for nuclear, I might be in favor of it if they could master nuclear fusion. As is, there is enough pollution from radiation already, without adding more from the risk of nuclear plant accidents, and waste that really has no safe disposal method.

He explained what I knew already but could not verbalize about the green Movement! I knew they were about lining their pockets with tax dollars! We travel a lot. We have seen numerous wind mill farms on windy days and none of the windmills were running. They cost about $1 mil each. They break down, are not easy to fix, etc.. We need to be good stewards of the earth, but also good to our neighbors. Even Michael Moore put out a movie that pointed out nuclear power is the most green power we available at this time. My husband was in the nuclear power field for 40 years, I was for 7 1/2. Many people I run into confuse nuclear plants with nuclear bombs. We need to educate the public on how each source of power works and what the long range outcomes are. They then could plainly see nuclear power has the least amount of environmental impact. Less waste. Less accidents. Etc.
We need to teach critical thinking to each and every citizen in our country. We need to learn to trust, but verify. Even God tells us to test the spirits. There is so much that needs to change. When we look at the problems they are overwhelming and seem impossible. But when we look to God, we see He has this and all we need to do is be faithful.
My one question before accepting “nuclear” is “how is nuclear waste disposed of?”
Finally some folks willing to speak truth in love and without fear, just knowledge, facts and personal, practical experience. Education and an honest appreciation for God’s wisdom and Gods Creation are two of the major elements of the solution to this problem. Father God, open the minds and hearts of your people and the world’s population to the truth. Reveal and remove the many hypocritical charlatans who cultivate and perpetuate the myth of deadly climate control.
Praise God that he saw and heard, even acted on what he knew to be true. May thousands, even millions more receive and act on TRUTH.

It’s becoming more and more obvious that the Globalist elites are going to reduce the work population. Managed food shortages, increased abortions, doing nothing to stop fentanyl deaths… these are just a few of the more obvious ways to reduce the population . Just in our country!Wake up, America! I think windmills are rediculous and Texas is putting them all over the state it seems. They are not reliable, and I have just learned that these poor farmers who sign a contract are hooked for 50 years. What a sham. It will be proved they are a hoax long before the contract is fulfilled. I traveled to Vernon, Texas a few years back and saw windmills hanging and dangling and in need of repair and was told, the original contractors were long, gone and I don’t know who was responsible to fix them. They also closed down a power plant in the area. God is the one who holds the environment in His hand, so all this environmental stuff is a hoax.

I have been interested for years in being respectful of the environment, but have realized for awhile that the “green” movement was increasingly politically based and designed to gain money and power. Again, I thank you for trying to bring back reason and real science so we can balance people’s needs while being good stewards of the earth.
I am so glad to read this and have confirmed what I have suspected and what we see in reality. This explains how Greenpeace morphed into something different than what it set out to be and once was. We are being controlled with a narrative of fear based on false information. (like the polar bears) And the fact that warming occurred independent of CO2 rising or falling is information we need to know. If we know the truth about issues, we are able to make much better decisions about those issues. They are forcing policies on us based on lies – policies that benefit no one, except maybe the people getting rich at our expense and the expense of the environment – because solar panels and wind turbines – both made in China, are NOT good for the environment. God made us the stewards/caretakers of this “garden” He has given us, and we should take good care of this earth, but policies based on fear and lies, does not help us to do that. God has blessed us with many natural resources like fossil fuel, “the earth is the Lord’s and the fullness thereof” for us to use wisely – but definitely for us to use. It makes no sense to freeze and starve with oil, natural gas, and even coal, readily available. This is now about money, power and control, – rather than “saving” the earth. Lord, help us to be good stewards of what You have entrusted to our care, all nature sings Your praises and is to be protected – but we can do both. I became an “environmentalist” in the late ’60s or early ’70s and remained so until perhaps 2000 when I realized the movement was anti-American and anti-Judeo Christian. Even Audubon has denied their heritage.

It is very sad that humans would use power, money, politics and lies to deceive and suppress the people. The politicians and demented are now pushing for wind turbines & solar fields as a solution. They both have a place in our society but not as the powers that be are pushing. Has the human race thought about all the thousands of wind turbines being erecting? Could the wind friction the turbines create change weather patterns across the country? “hence weather patterns?” Weather is directed by the wind, could that be a possible added reason why we are seeing droughts and crazy weather today? Has the impact been studied by scientists outside of politics? Have they thought about all the massive solar fields being erected absorbing the suns energy? What impact will that have on planet earth? All energy comes from the sun, some is reflected back into space and some absorbed by the earth, what has real science have to say?
We need to all get on our knees and seek the creator for his guidance and way forwards.
