As the border crisis rages, Georgia state senators are trying to ban and punish sanctuary cities. Will they be successful?
From Fox News. Some Georgia senators want to punish cities and counties that they say are illegally harboring immigrants who are in the country without permission by cutting off most state aid to the local government and removing elected officials from office.

The Senate Public Safety Committee voted 4-1 on Wednesday to rewrite House Bill 301, with supporters saying the move is needed to enforce a 2009 state law that outlaws so-called sanctuary cities and counties. …
The Senate committee completely rewrote a bill that previously regulated penalties from speeding tickets issued by automated cameras. State Sen. Kim Jackson, a Stone Mountain Democrat, complained that she had no time to read the new language before the meeting, calling it “frustrating and disappointing.”
The new bill would let any Georgia resident sue, asking a judge to declare if a city or county was violating the 2009 law. If a judge agrees, the state would cut off state aid, as well as federal aid it controls, except for a short list of emergency and health services. For example, a county or city would get no state money for building and maintaining roads.
Judges could restore funding if a local government repeals the offending policy. A judge would then be required to issue a permanent order barring the government from ever readopting any sanctuary policy.
The bill also provides for removal of local elected officials if cities or counties adopt sanctuary policy. …
Republican Sen. Randy Robertson of Cataula told the committee that the measure would ensure sheriff’s offices comply with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement so they don’t evade the 2009 law.
“What we’ve done in this legislation is we’ve added some teeth, because there were none in the past,” Robertson said.
Critics of the measure say it’s a further attempt by Republican lawmakers to impose their will on cities and counties, and would let activists tie up cities and counties with court cases and administrative proceedings. …

God established nations with borders. Cities have borders for safety of the citizens and border laws are not to be violated. God, “hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation” (Acts 17:26)
We thank You Lord that the protections for Georgia citizens are being addressed by our legislators. Criminals and those violating our laws by illegally coming across our borders are being brought to justice. Thank you Lord that the prayers of your people are finding their mark. We continue to thank and trust that Your justice and righteousness will be a established in our State of Georgia.
Due to the open southern border policies of Biden et al, who are solely responsible for this lawlessness at what was once our southern border, our demographics have been irrevocably altered, and this cannot be undone. I live in Naples FL and English is becoming our second language. We are allowing people into our once great country who do not wish us well. Quite the opposite. Instead of being grateful for being here, at the hardworking, taxpaying American Citizens’ expense, they are surly, rude, and nasty. The only answer is to round up these people who have broken our laws and send them back to their countries of origin. I do not want to be responsible for providing housing, clothing, food, healthcare, education, transportation, cell phones, credit cards, etc to these people. We have American Citizens who are in desperate need of many of those items, especially our Veterans. Let’s put American Citizens first!

Father full of mercy and wisdom and faithfulness and compassion ! You as always are to be regarded highly. I don’t know the answers to our illegal immigration and border crisis is, BUT YOU DO. By Your righteous right hand, please help us. Give Your wisdom to those in charge of making decisions regarding these issues and may they have Your favor and power to fulfill what You say to do. You gave Nehemiah wisdom on how to rebuild the walls…those walls were of importance then, so they must be now in America. Thank You. In Jesus Name. Amen.
Maybe change will only come state by state? Maybe when the federal government sees this coming, they will follow suit….maybe?

Dear Father and Almighty God, I praise You for the world and all of creation…it is Yours. You made man and put him to work. Will You do this again? I am praying You will create change Lord, a shift because too many in our society are unwilling to work and many who do, work irresponsibly. Will You put to work the people who have the desire for a protected nation? Will You put to work the people who seek order? If this is to be state by state, may it take root throughout America. Put us to work Lord. I ask this in the Name of Jesus Christ. Amen
