RUSH LIMBAUGH’S LAST MOMENTS POINT TO JESUS CHRIST
Conservative talk show radio pioneer Rush Limbaugh, whose work influenced a generation of American politics, has died at the age of 70, succumbing to advanced lung cancer. . . .
“The Rush Limbaugh Show” launched in 1988 – a three-hour daily conservative talk show that quickly attracted listeners across the country. His show eventually grew into the largest audience in radio – influence that made Limbaugh an enemy of the left and kingmaker on the right.
“You just suddenly have become a national phenomenon, very popular show. How come?” CBN Founder Dr. Pat Robertson asked Limbaugh during a 1990 interview.
“I think one of the real reasons for the success of the show is the perception and as you know in politics perception is oftentimes reality, the perception by real people that the primary disseminators of information in this country are shall we say slanted to the left and here comes the first, and it’s really the only national program, in radio or TV that has a conservative bias to it, admittedly so, that they can latch on to and I never thought that would be the reason. I thought that for my success I was going to have to be a better broadcaster, sharper, and faster, quicker, more informed and all that. I didn’t bank on the fact that so much of the success would rely on the fact that I happen to be very fortunate in my timing in – I think this country’s far more conservative than even people think it is now,” Limbaugh responded. . . .
In 1992, President Ronald Reagan wrote him, “Now that I’ve retired from active politics. I don’t mind that you have become the Number One voice for conservatism in our Country. I know the liberals call you the most dangerous man in America, but don’t worry about it, they used to say the same thing about me. Keep up the good work. America needs to hear ‘the way things ought to be.'” . . .
In 2001, Limbaugh announced he had lost his hearing from the rare condition called autoimmune inner ear disease. He received cochlear ear implants and continued his work as a broadcaster.
Known for his generosity, he donated millions to causes he found worthy. . .
In early 2020, Limbaugh announced he had advanced lung cancer, and the very next night at the State of the Union address, President Trump bestowed upon him the honor of a lifetime.
“I am proud to announce today that you will be receiving our country’s highest civilian honor, the Presidential Medal of Freedom,” the president announced. . . .
To the end Limbaugh publicly credited his faith in Jesus with getting him through his very difficult battle with cancer.
“I have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. It is of immense value, strength, confidence and that’s why I’m able to remain fully committed to the idea that what is supposed to happen will happen when it’s meant to,” he said during one of his final programs.
For his millions of listeners, Rush Limbaugh was a national treasure who can never be replaced.

Yes, Rush was a man who wasn’t afraid to speak the truth. Like when he questioned where Obama was born. Or when he told us Michel J. Fox was exaggerating his Parkinson’s disease and how the lady who bought contraceptives was a slut and a prostitute. I could go on but you get the idea. He was a national treasure.
He exposed the truth. It set us free. Just as Jesus did. We had only heard our news from a media slanted to socialist propaganda. Rush middle America self made and proud to be an American and all that it stands for. Our ears were opened by his gift from the lord. He never wavered. We found new hope in his daily updates and grew in our own ideas that’s what American is ideas not a people that can be bought! We are lovers of the the lord our family And being the best we can be fighting when there is no other way to keep our freedom and all others when needed. That’s us. He was one of us hardworking men and women. Thank you mr Limbaugh. You are in his arms safe living in eternity.
I remember the first time I heard rush on am radio on our way to tn from ms
It was such a breath of fresh air
Although he had flaws as we all do it was the finish that counted
Chuck, Rush was married 4 times, not seven times.
Chuck, you might want to read Luke 6:37-38 & Matthew 7:1-5. I believe Rush’s status as a fervent Christian came later in life. I know I wouldn’t want to be accused and judged for sins I made early in life before I became saved in my 40s. Thank God someone who cared led me to the Lord. Have you accepted Jesus into your heart as your Savior?
I think Rush was married 4 times. I like to think that what mattered most at the end of his life was coming to know Jesus as his Lord and Savior. I am sure we all have done many things which we regret, I imagine Rush was no different. Thankful that he came to know Jesus. One could say the same for the thief on the cross next to Jesus…
I was encouraged to be able to hear the real truth about our nation. And to know that millions of Americans believed also.
I started listening to his show in 2007 the same year I began my walk in faith. Conservatism lines up very nicely with the Word of God and it was no coincidence my life was changing direction both in the natural and in the spirit.
It made my heart glad that he knew the Lord and had trusted God’s plan and God’s timing. He will be missed without question. #TalentOnLoanFromGod
I listened to Rush everyday and will miss his take on the news. No one is like him. May the Lord comforters family and listeners and help us to never give up on American ideals.
I only listened to Rush briefly on one of his radio shows maybe around 2005. I wasn’t encouraged because though maybe what he spoke was true, I perceived a bitter root judgment and expectation. See ElijahHouse.org for those terms. I contacted him via the Internet once about my concerns. I pray for all affected by him and his death.
Dear Lord, we thank you for the life of Rush Limbaugh and his “talent on loan from God.” As a fairly regular listener for the past 20 years, he was an excellent source of political information and encouragement certainly in the last 5 years. What a great blessing and encouragement it was when he spoke publicly and forthrightly of his faith in You during this past year — a great testimony to his huge audience many of whom who may not know You. I praise You, Father for his life, and that he seemed to have fulfilled Your purpose for him in his generation. We pray that You will continue to raise up voices who will be Your tools to inform and guide in the political sphere and culture. Please comfort his wife, Kathryn, his brother David Limbaugh and all of his family and friends. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
Father, I pray Rush Limbaugh’s family and friends are comforted in their time of grieving, comforted knowing he is home. I also ask You to give us more “voices for conservatism.” Raise up men and women who seek to speak truth and with the conviction of You behind each word. You are the Author of Truth, tighten our belts Lord. I ask this in the Name of Jesus, who said, “I am the way, the TRUTH, and the life; no one comes to the Father except through Me.” Amen
