Running the Bases for Freedom of Religion
Less than a week after Roe v. Wade was abolished the Supreme Court decided that Coach Joe Kennedy can kneel in prayer on the 50-yard line after his public school football team plays. Now, a week after Lifemark spoke eloquently about adoption into the post-Roe conversation, the film Running the Bases opens in 1,100 theaters coast to coast! It tells the story of a baseball coach who, after the game is played, win or lose, runs the bases and kneels to pray at home base, and he’s criticized for it. It could have been inspired by Coach Kennedy’s story… except that it was written six years ago, before Coach Kennedy’s case was making national news.
At Content2022 Film Festival and Media Summit I interviewed three of the stars of Running the Bases: Cameron Arnett (who we prayed over for the Christ Over Career National Kickoff in New York City), Anita Cordell (an actress who has produced several films exposing human trafficking), and Garry Nation (he plays Polycarp in Polycarp: Destroyer of Gods):
Running the Bases opens today, September 16, in theaters throughout America. Find out where it’s playing near you at www.RunningTheBasesMovie.com/tickets.
Pray for this film to encourage Christians to freely express their faith in the public marketplace, now that the Supreme Court has confirmed that we can!
Post your stories of expressing your faith in public and your prayers for the film and its impact on our culture.
