I Prayed have prayed
Lord, we pray for businesses like the NBA to allow themselves to see and act responsibly in light of the Chinese Communist Party’s acts of oppression.

Editor’s note: When I read this, I was shocked. The NBA is very public and vocal about how America needs to change, but wait until you read their position on China. Let us know what you think about it. Share in the comments . . .

Remember earlier this summer when the FBI chief said China is the “greatest long-term threat… to our economic vitality”? Or before that when one top diplomat said China is giving us a glimpse of “the future of what oppression’s going to look like”?

Well, those warnings must not have made it on the National Basketball Association’s radar.

According to a stunning in-depth ESPN report last week, the NBA, which prides itself on social activism in the U.S., appears to have been partnering for years with communist authorities in China on basketball training academies where student athletes faced physical abuse.

Even more shocking… one of those academies was in Xinjiang. ESPN describes that place as “a police state in western China where more than a million Uighur Muslims are now held in barbed-wire camps.”

That sounds bad. But the State Department’s International Religious Freedom Report paints an even worse picture for the Uighur Muslims (and Christians) detained in Xinjiang. It says these individuals become victims of “forced disappearance, political indoctrination, torture, physical and psychological abuse, including forced sterilization and sexual abuse, forced labor, and prolonged detention without trial because of their religion and ethnicity.”

So what in the world was the NBA doing there?

That’s what Senators Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.) and Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) want to know. They sent a letter to NBA Commissioner Adam Silver on Thursday with some pointed questions in light of China’s actions in Xinjiang that, they say, “likely constitute atrocity crimes and crimes against humanity under U.S. and international law.”

The problem is so bad there that last week the U.S. Treasury Department imposed sanctions on 2 Chinese officials and a government entity for their roles in the abuse.

Indeed, the senators contend, “History will not judge kindly those who remained silent or were complicit in the Chinese Communist Party’s human rights abuses.”

Unfortunately, the NBA does not appear too interested. At least not yet.

The Xinjiang academy is closed now, but when confronted by ESPN journalists if human rights issues factored into that decision, NBA COO Mark Tatum was reportedly evasive.

“My job, our job is not to take a position on every single human rights violation, and I’m not an expert in every human rights situation or violation,” Tatum said. “I’ll tell you what the NBA stands for: The values of the NBA are about respect, are about inclusion, are about diversity. That is what we stand for.”

Perhaps that sounds a rather unsatisfying answer? Especially when the league is so aggressive in its social activism here in the U.S.?

It does to me. But sadly that muted response is par for the course for the NBA in regards to China. Why?

Well, ESPN notes the NBA’s enterprise in China is worth $5 billion. And it suggests its investigation “sheds new light on the lucrative NBA-China relationship and the costs of doing business with a government that suppresses free expression and is accused of cultural genocide.”

That is a serious statement for a serious matter.

Let’s be praying that the NBA and other American businesses allow their eyes to be open to allegations of severe abuses being reported in China.

What do you think? How else should we be praying businesses operating in China? And how are you praying for the Chinese people?

One more reason that I don’t care for, watch, support or pay attention to the NBA. The NFL is not much further behind. That said, we do need to pray for eyes to be opened within the NBA (and NFL, probably MLB, also) to see what oppression is all about and rampant in much of the leadership and those that bow to foreign authorities and entities that do not have the best interest of all mankind at their heart.

I lived in China four years. The Chinese know they are not told the truth. They are expected to take bribes on all levels. The fact that the Uighur are suffering is well known, but the Han Chinese either don’t care, or don’t know, and if they do know, they are not going to try to do anything about it. That would be too dangerous in their thinking. It is heartbreaking that the NBA has sunk to such a pitifully low level, all for the dollar. God we pray that the NBA wake up to the fact that they are among the very few who could change this whole horrible situation. I pray that You are giving them this glorious opportunity to save those who are being exterminated unnecessarily if only they would speak up rather than play the evil Chinese game. God, lead us U. S. citizens in how you would that we let the NBA know that what they are doing will not be tolerated!!! May we Christians wake up to the evil we tolerate!!!

People need to get back to doing what is right. Don’t lose your integrity for the almighty dollar! There is more to life than the here and now. People need to wake up and prepare for eternity. Get back to basics! Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. Stand up against the wrongs being done to your fellow man.

How sad that people will riot and destroy over things that happened 100 years ago that had little to affect them , but will do or Say nothing to help so many now.
Please Father give us your heart for every person that is oppressed. Show us how to be a part of your solution.

It looks like money has blinded the eyes of the NBA, we need to pray that they take their eyes of profit and see what’s really going

I am an NBA coach’s wife. My husband’s contract ended last year and he was not able to find other work with another team. Now that I see what is going on Orlando, I am so grateful that he was not subjected to the BLM movement. We know for a fact that pressure is being put on all employees to kneel during the national anthem. Their job is basically on the line if they do stand. This evil is coming from the top. There has also been a move on recent years to place women on the staff, when there never was women, and it’s not really a place they should be.
Lord God, we pray for a complete shaking of the NBA. Cut it down and rebuild it how you would have it be rebuilt. Expose the evil that is being done. Expose and remove those at the top who are knowingly committing these evils. They disrespect our freedoms and those who have died for them, while defending China, which commits horrible atrocities towards its people, especially Your people. Wake up those who do not understand what they are bowing down to. Remove deceit and help them to see the disparity and hypocrisy of their beliefs. We bind up all greed and we release a spirit of generousity. Break the hold that China has on the NBA. We ask that you would put a godly leader in place that would lead the NBA in a direction that would honor you with sports, that would not be pulled by the evil of the culture nor by greed, and one that would bring discipline and moral values back into the NBA.. in Jesus Holy Name we pray.

Father in the name of Jesus, we believe your word that we do not know how to pray as we ought, and that the Holy Spirit makes intercession for us and through us, father we trust your Holy Spirit to pray these issues through properly and effectively. Do not let Communism make “friends”
by providing perks and to people and groups of influence, especially those who greatly influence our youth and culture. Expose all evil atrocities in Communist china and all over the world at every turn and show all without a doubt that accepting a perk from an evil entity is in essence turning a blind eye and agreeing with their atrocities. InnJesus name we ask you to fully expose all atrocities that hide in darkness

Fear, Hate, Greed. Fruits of a life void of the knowledge of God. We ask for God to drain the swamp. Yuch! How has so much gone unnoticed since WWII? Why did we exchange truth for a lie? Yet God promises if we turn from our wicked ways….He will heal!

But now faith, hope, love, abide these three; but the greatest of these is love.
1 Cor. 13:13

“So, as those who have been chosen of God, holy and beloved, put on a heart of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience; bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, whoever has a complaint against anyone; just as the Lord forgave you, so also should you. Beyond all these things put on love, which is the perfect bond of unity. Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body; and be thankful. Let the word of Christ richly dwell within you, with all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another with psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with thankfulness in your hearts to God. Whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through Him to God the Father”. Col. 3:12‭-‬17

“O Lord , my heart is not proud, nor my eyes haughty; Nor do I involve myself in great matters, Or in things too difficult for me. Surely I have composed and quieted my soul; Like a weaned child rests against his mother, My soul is like a weaned child within me. O Israel, hope in the Lord From this time forth and forever”.
Psalms 131

Self preservation is a powerful emotion, “No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and wealth (money) . Mat.6:24

“For the love of money is a root of all sorts of evil, and some by longing for it have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs”. 1 Tim. 6:10

No matter, we must take up our cross daily and follow Him. The results are in His hand. After all, the Battle is the Lords, and He has the Battle Plan.

Father have mercy on us. Let us stand for freedom for everyone in the world. Forgive us if we have made money our god over carting for people in this country and in other countries. We need your help to set people free in other countries with in our country to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ that Jesus Christ is the only one to set us free. Forgive the Body of Christ if we have made money more important than people. We need your help Holy Spirit. We need a great revival in this nation. Forgive us making other things more important like foot ball, base ball, phones, internet, anything than your presence. Help us Holy Spirit.

Money, it’s all about the money. Money before human life.

Abortion – multi-billion dollar industry from which many prosper, including politicians.

This country has been doing business with China in spite of known human rights violations for many decades. President Trump has desired to see this end many years before he decided to run for President and one of the reasons he did. Thank you God for sending him to us!
The lottery and casinos destroy families.
Now it’s surfaced that NBA is billions of dollars deep into China in spite of atrocities known to them. In this country they support violence, take the knee to the flag. Why are we surprised? It’s all about the money.
God thank you for exposure, shining the light in so many areas! God help us, thank you that you can and will as we trust in you!

Our God and our King of the Universe, You are the GREAT I AM and with you all things are possible. So when we pray for the NBA or for China we are not sure of all that is involved with this relationship, but You are for You are the all-knowing God. We do know that politically correct nonsense abounds for many Americans, so we ask that You open the eyes of their hearts to see You and Your love for them and a correction in their walk and let that walk be in Your perfect will. Let them seek You with all of their hearts and to see the truth of salvation come to light for them. We also know that money, greed, power and gain can be the carrot of following the wrong path. Help them Lord to have the right prospective. We ask in our Messiah’s Name, Amen.
