After seeking to protect the unborn, some pro-life activists have been prosecuted and are facing over a decade in prison time.
From LifeSiteNews. A jury on Tuesday found five pro-life activists guilty of violating the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances (FACE) Act and conspiracy against rights. They were immediately incarcerated following the verdict and could face more than a decade in prison for their efforts to prevent women from killing their preborn babies.

In a statement to LifeSiteNews at the courthouse on Tuesday, defendant William Goodman urged his supporters “to forgive the jury, the judge, and all those who witnessed against us, and to pray that they would see how God loves the gift of every human life.”
All the defendants were led away and Goodman was handcuffed after the judge determined that the rescuers must be immediately detained pending sentencing since the nature of the FACE Act violation amounted to a “crime of violence.” …
In an emailed statement Tuesday, Steve Crampton, senior counsel with the conservative Thomas More Society law firm, called the immediate incarceration due to the alleged “violence” of the crime “an outrage” since “the one thing the defendants had really agreed upon was to remain non-violent.”
“The real violence is what happens during the abortion procedure,” he said.
As LifeSiteNews has extensively reported, five anti-abortion activists — Goodman, [Heather] Idoni, Lauren Handy, John Hinshaw, and Herb Geraghty — have stood trial over the past week for blocking access to the Washington Surgi-Clinic in downtown Washington, D.C., in a “traditional rescue” in October 2020. Pro-life “rescues” involve activists physically intervening to try to stop women from going through with abortions.
Jury deliberations began in the case on Friday at about 10:30 a.m. and concluded Tuesday afternoon. The court did not meet on Monday. …
On Tuesday, the jury found all five defendants guilty on all charges. Sentencing has not been determined yet, but each defendant could face up to 10 years for the conspiracy charge and a year for the FACE Act violation, as well as $350,000 in fines and three years of supervised release.
Supporters of the activists have had cause for anxiety over the course of the week-long trial as former pro-life “rescuer” testified against her colleagues, an abortion staffer claimed that Catholicism was compatible with her work, and the judge admonished a Catholic nun who began praying in the courtroom while the witness passed by. …
In an email statement shared with LifeSiteNews, Handy’s attorney Martin Cannon with the Thomas More Society said the verdict was disappointing but promised not to stop fighting. …
As LifeSiteNews previously reported, the charges stem from a federal grand jury’s two-count indictment of nine abortion opponents for allegedly taking part “in a conspiracy to create a blockade at the reproductive health care clinic to prevent the clinic from providing, and patients from receiving, reproductive health services” for blocking access to the Washington-Surgi Clinic. …
According to a DOJ press release, the pro-life advocates took part in a “conspiracy” to block access to the Washington Surgi-Clinic.
“Handy, Smith, Harlow, Marshall, Hinshaw, Idoni, Goodman and Bell forcefully entered the clinic and set about blockading two clinic doors using their bodies, furniture, chains and ropes,” the press release said. “Once the blockade was established, Darnel live-streamed footage of his co-defendants’ activities.”
The defendants allegedly violated the FACE Act when they made use of “physical obstruction to injure, intimidate and interfere with the clinic’s employees and a patient, because they were providing or obtaining reproductive health services.” …

FATHER GOD please send an attorney to file a class action lawsuit against this court and jury and D.A. for failing to prosecute blm and antifa for destroying innocent peoples businesses and property since 2020! Let the lawsuit also discuss the many organized thefts in the city that have never been prosecuted for anything! Also prosecute them for letting violent criminals out of jail that go on to rob and murder again over and over! Don’t we have enough people in overcrowded jails that we should put these people in jail who want life for our babies? This jail time has gotten out of hand. It is of Satan!
I am for life, praying outside of abortion clinics, and peacefully, protesting against abortion, but I don’t think we have the right to chain the door of someone’s property, or physically keep someone from entering that property.
Do they treat antifa and BLM this way? Do they treat the anti fossil fuels people who want to glue themselves to almost everything this way? However, Jesus said to count the cost. Civil disobedience against injustice has achieved much good but there can be consequences for those that do.

Pro-life persons can not, should not. participate not in physical actions. We are called as God’s representatives to be just that. Yes, Jesus overturned tables in anger, but He was showing outright the fault. We cannot use force to show reason to save the unborn. We have to pray, we need to observe the laws that have usually been derived in the outfield, but is still law and we are to adhere to the law concerning “rights” of others. We have the supreme Justice on our side and that’s what we need to remember. When we stay in love and obedience, our God will prevail!
Father God, in Jesus name, we decree JUSTICE SHALL PREVAIL for these pro-life activists who stand for Your righteousness and truth. Save (let them kiss the Son) or remove (let them perish in their ways) those who have agreed with this evil agenda and plot against Your people unjustly. Lord, You told us to be as wise as serpents and as innocent as doves. Father, it concerns me that these people violated the rights of others to enter that building. Suppose the tables were turned such as some people barricading doors to the church so I could worship. That would be a violation of my rights. I am sorry that these people may serve a long prison sentence. I can only ask, Father, that You would inspire the judge to be somewhat lenient in sentencing. Help all of us to have the right words to say to persuade others to protect the life that is within. Father, hear and forgive. I offer this humble prayer to You. Help us to love others as Christ loves the church. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
I always try to look at the varying perspectives in every situation and I do not feel the situation is the same, as your worship is not taking the life of another. We are forgetting that there is a very real victim, the baby, when it comes to abortion; a life that would be is no more. Our Constitution, which honors God and His Word, does not guarantee any human the “right” to kill their unborn child, this is a man-made construct and the Good Lord told us to be wary of supporting anything that is not found in the truth of His Word, as it feeds the agenda of the enemy. It does not serve our God or our neighbors to protect their “right” to go to hell for murder simply because they have been tricked into thinking it is ok to do so. This is how the Halocaust happened.

I find it very disturbing that antifa and black lives mater get a free pass. Those 2 groups have broken laws, caused physical harm to citizens, and damaged or destroyed property. Where is the DOJ, the police, the prosecutors, the judges, and the juries? Appears to me to be working for satan instead of God. It is very difficult but I will pray for them. God open their eyes and heart to your laws

For years? While vile people get away with true crimes here on earth. We all know God will have Justice!
The first thing that I thought of when I heard and read this, was that 1) an enormous injustice was done to these 5people. The second thing that came to mind is that however SHORT of a time they spend in that prison, they will be like Paul & Silas, being light in a very dark place. I pray that God protects them, empowers them “just” like Paul & Silas, and opens the prison doors not only to them, but to all who have been unjustly accused & incarcerated. I also pray this for them: That they be strong and courageous, and that God’s love and light shine brightly thru’ them, and people are saved, healed and delivered. In Jesus’ name, amen.
I pray that the court doesn’t make an example of them. And that God gave people free will and their actions were not His will but their own. Abortion is unique in that it is a woman’s body & women have a choice even if we as pro life people don’t agree. This is a spiritual battle against an enemy who seeks to kill & destroy and according to Ephesians our battle is not against flesh and blood but against spiritual wickedness in heavenly places.
Women have a choice only because man has allowed and even promoted that choice. But God has said do not kill. So the woman’s choice is to disregard God’s law and kill her baby. That’s a sad reality. I pray God’s mercy, grace, and healing for anyone who makes that choice.
