Pride Month Goes Out with a Whimper
Pride Month Goes Out with a Whimper
For many, this “Pride Month” felt smaller than in past years. Have Americans have grown tired of the relentless and radical LGBTQ+ agenda?
From The Line of Fire. As a follower of Jesus, I believe in treating every human being with civility and grace. And to be quite specific, I believe in loving my LGBTQ+ neighbor as myself.
Pray for your fellow intercessor.
At the same time, because I care for the greater good of society and believe that Godās ways are best, I oppose many of the goals of LGBTQ+ activism. Thatās why I was glad to see a much-more diminished version of Pride Month in 2024.
The pushback, which I have been expecting for years, continues to grow.
Last year, things were so over the top and in your face that the longtime gay ally Piers MorganĀ asked, āHave we gone rainbow crazy or is pride month more important than patriotism?ā And in response to a challenge from a gay comedian, Morgan answered, āIām not triggered by a rainbow flag. Iām triggered by the fact that everywhere that I go for a month everything has to be a rainbow flag.ā
Last year, things got so extreme with Targetās ātuckā bathing suits for males who identified as females (including children) that Joe RoganĀ commented, āWhen I go to Target, I donāt wanna see like [expletive] tuck pants. Theyāre designed to help you tuck your [expletive]. Like, hey, thatās not normal.ā
Last year we were also in the thick of the Bud LightĀ boycott, with Rogan calling the so-called ātransgender influencerā Dylan Mulvaney āa confused person.ā As for Kid Rock, he let hisĀ gunĀ do the talking (before adding some choice expletives).
Already, by the end of last year, Kid Rock hadĀ softenedĀ his stance, saying that Bud āādeserved a black eye and they got oneā for the partnership with Dylan Mulvaney, but then added heās over the boycott. āSo, do I want to hold their head underwater and drown them because they made a mistake? No, I think they got the message.āā
It would be hard to miss a message that cost you more thanĀ one billion dollars.
Target got the message too.
As CNNĀ reportedĀ in May,
āTarget is limiting the number of stores that will sellĀ LGBTQ-themed merchandise for Pride MonthĀ in June following a boycott from right-wing activists last year that took a toll on theĀ brandās bottom line.ā
Indeed,
āThis year, TargetĀ saidĀ it will sell only Pride-themed āadult apparelā and home goods āin select stores, based on historical sales performanceā ā a drastic reversal for the chain that had typically sold the items in many of its US stores for the past decade.ā
More broadly, CBS recentlyĀ reportedĀ that,
āthis year, public-facing Pride campaigns at some of the world’s largest brands were quieter than usual. At other companies that previously had them, they were completely absent. Fewer public campaigns mean less visibility, which LGBTQ advocates and consumers in the community say can be dangerous in myriad ways.ā
It was also this year thatĀ Harry PotterĀ author (and longtime gay ally) J. K. Rowling took on the country of Scotland ā and won.
AsĀ reportedĀ by the BBC in April, āJK Rowling has challengedĀ Scotland’s new hate crime lawĀ in a series of social media posts – inviting police to arrest her if they believe she has committed an offence.ā
According to theĀ law,
āA person commits an offence if they communicate material, or behave in a manner, āthat a reasonable person would consider to be threatening or abusive,ā with the intention of stirring up hatred based on the protected characteristics,ā which include ātransgender identity.ā
In response, Rowling posted a series of comments on April 1, all with pictures of men who identified as women, beforeĀ explaining, āOnly kidding. Obviously, the people mentioned in the above tweets aren’t women at all, but men, every last one of them.
āIn passing the Scottish Hate Crime Act, Scottish lawmakers seem to have placed higher value on the feelings of men performing their idea of femaleness, however misogynistically or opportunistically, than on the rights and freedoms of actual women and girls. The new legislation is wide open to abuse by activists who wish to silence those of us speaking out about the dangers of eliminating women’s and girlsā single-sex spaces, the nonsense made of crime data if violent and sexual assaults committed by men are recorded as female crimes, the grotesque unfairness of allowing males to compete in female sports, the injustice of womenās jobs, honours and opportunities being taken by trans-identified men, and the reality and immutability of biological sex.ā
In response to Rowlingās posts, Scotland did nothing.
Leading up to last weekās presidential debate, LGBTQ+ activistsĀ issuedĀ a dire warning, stating, āThis will be an enormous slight to our community if LGBTQ questions are not asked during this debate. Our community is deeply affected by where these candidates stand.ā
Yet the candidates were not asked a single question relative to LGBTQ+ concerns, although the topic of abortion came up a number of times. This was duly noted by LGBTQ+ publications, such as theĀ Washington Blade.
For good reason even tennis great Martina Navratilova, herself an out and proud lesbian, couldĀ say, āI know Iām on the right side of historyā in calling so-called transwomen athletes ācheats.ā
Itās hard to argue with reality.
And so, the pushback continues to gain ground as radical activism continues to lose steam and more and more Americans, regular people who are not bigots or haters, are saying, āEnough already.ā

I need to correct the post below which I just made today. It is not the mayor who made the decision about the flag, it is the County Council Chair who made it, and is gay.
Pride celebrations were certainly not diminished in the Pacific NW. In fact , after a month of daily reminders of with pride stories of activities and individual accomplishments we now have another month of it since Tacoma decided they need another month to enjoy it. One plus story though, a Tacoma council woman has refused to attend their meetings in the official location because the mayor, who is gay, has put up a pride flag in the room. Prayers for her.
ENOUGH IS ENOUGH.
Praise God for what he is doing. May this pride push be completely eliminated.
Lord Jesus, please change the heart of San Francisco. Bring them to repentance and to a knowledge of the true and living God, Our savior, Jesus Christ. I pray there will not be a pride parade in that city again.
Lord, thank you that people are waking up to this sin and perversion and seeing through the deceptions they are promulgating. Reach out and touch the hearts of all those who are attempting to change our culture for the worse and open their eyes to the light of the Glorious Gospel so they can see the truth and be set free!!
In JESUS MIGHTY NAME!!
Filth was happening in NY at parade
God, speak to the hearts of this group, only You can Lordš
Respectfully, Filth does not even come close to describing the behavior exhibited in NY in public during paradeā¦ and other āpride eventsā.
Sodom and Gomorrah to the enth degree.
Discernment leads me to the belief that the reason āprideā was quieter than most years was because the Dems convinced the organizers that this is an election year and any additional chaos would be detrimental to their desired election outcome. Remember in 2001 Nancy Pelosi – then Speaker of the House – marched with a leading advocate of man-boy āloveāin San Francisco gay āprideā parade.
Alliances have not changed.
In Jesus Name, I decree that strongholds are obliterated, that alliances are destroyed and every and anything working for the continuation of āgay prideā be overpowered by the power of the Blood of Christ.
Amen
