I Prayed have prayed
Lord, we have hope that so many of our years of prayers are being answered through what President Trump said in his first minutes in office.
Reading Time: 6 minutes

In the middle of our 48 hours of prayer flanking the event, President Trump was sworn in on two Bibles, one used by President Abraham Lincoln in 1861, and the other, a gift from his mother in 1955.

Many on our 48-hour prayer call rejoiced that cold weather moved the ceremony into the Capitol Rotunda because it was more secure than the traditional outdoor swearing in outside the Capitol.

A recurring theme of the 48 hours of prayer is for President Trump’s humility. My wife and fellow contributing writer for IFA Joyce Swingle pointed out that he was very determined, but the pride we’ve been praying will take a back seat… seemed to be in the back seat.

IFA prayed through the inauguration, and afterward IFA President and CEO Dave Kubal said, “It was absolutely amazing to me that in just a matter of 30 minutes in his acceptance speech, he covered all of the things that I know us as intercessors have been concerned about for so long.”

“The scales of justice will be rebalanced.”

He said, “The vicious, violent and unfair weaponization of the justice department and our government will end.” Later he pointed out that he has been the victim of this approach by the current administration, as have the January 6 prisoners and others, such as Tina Peters, who we’ve been praying for.

“Times of Emergency”

President Trump pointed out the current administration “has given unlimited funding to the defense of foreign borders but refuses to defend American borders, or, more importantly, its own people.” He cited the hurricane victims “who are still suffering” and those still facing fires in L.A. We’ve prayed for those left without resources after these tragedies, and President Trump promised, “That’s going to change.”

“I was saved by God”

At the heart of his speech, President Trump reminded people of the assassination attempt during his rally in Pennsylvania. He said, “I was saved by God to make America great again.” Let’s continue to pray that he realizes that America can only be great if it returns to God.

Later in the speech he said, “We will not forget our country, we will not forget our Constitution, and we will not forget our God.”

“Common Sense”

Before the ceremony began, Kubal predicted that President Trump would mention “common sense,” and he did. Kubal said:

When you hear “common sense,” what you need to think — from a biblical point of view — is this is God’s general revelation. He’s put a moral code into His creation. We understand instinctively what is good and what is bad. And there has not been common sense prevailing in this nation. There is a rise of common sense. There is a rise of morality that’s going on in America. So when you hear that word common sense, just don’t think in the natural it’s a supernatural morality that our nation is shifting towards.

President Trump mentioned the executive orders he was about to sign, and he pointed out, “It’s all about common sense.”

“Our safety will be restored.”

He said, “First, I will declare a national emergency at our southern border.” He’s halting all illegal entry, and he said, “we will begin the process of returning millions and millions of criminal aliens back to the places from which they came.” Several of the executive orders will deal specifically with the cartels and those who have been coming into our nation with evil intent.

He also addressed the rise in crime, saying, “We are going to bring law and order back to our cities.”

“Drill Baby, Drill”

We’ve written about how concern for our climate has truly become a cultish worship of Gaia. President Trump is about to smash that idol. He pointed out that America has “the largest amount of oil and gas of any country on Earth,” and he added, “We are going to use it.” He went on: “With my actions today, we will end the Green New Deal,” something that has made America a target of globalist control. This will also help fight inflation, and he has other plans in place to do that.

At the top of his address President Trump said, “Our sovereignty will be reclaimed.” Becoming energy independent again, as we were during his first term, is one of the ways to do that.

“Department of Government Efficiency”

We’ve been praying against a bloated government controlling every aspect of our lives, and let’s continue to pray that DOGE will help curtail that.

“Liberation Day”

President Trump said, “For American citizens, Jan. 20, 2025, is Liberation Day.” He said, “I will sign an executive order to immediately stop all government censorship and bring back free speech to America.”

In his closing statements, he said, “We are one people, one family, and one glorious nation under God,” giving hope religious freedom will flourish on his watch.

“Two Genders”

Two of the most heart-breaking moves in recent years have been the push for changing the genders of minors and the imposition of godless, Marxist policies to “fix” racism. Close to the center of his speech he made this statement:

This week, I will also end the government policy of trying to socially engineer race and gender into every aspect of public and private life. We will forge a society that is colorblind and merit based. As of today, it will henceforth be the official policy of the United States government that there are only two genders, male and female.

The people — except for some sitting near the current administration — leapt to their feet in applause.

During his close, President Trump reminded us of America’s many achievements over the past 250 years. He said we “defeated fascism and communism.” Standing against Marxist policies is a way to make sure fascism and communism don’t take over our nation now.

“Full Back Pay”

We prayed often for our service members who were forced out because they wouldn’t take the experimental COVID mRNA vaccine. President Trump said:

This week, I will reinstate any service members who were unjustly expelled from our military for objecting to the COVID vaccine mandate — with full back pay. And I will sign an order to stop our warriors from being subjected to radical political theories and social experiments while on duty.

I prayed a friend who was a senior Army officer through the decision to walk away from his career rather than take the experimental vaccine. He was discharged, and I asked for his reaction to President Trump’s speech. He asked to remain anonymous but added, “I’m hopeful that will change soon.” Here’s what he wrote:

Our military is a values-based profession that is built on a foundation of trust. That trust has been severely breached over the past four years. I was certain there would be no way to rebuild that trust in my lifetime. That is, until the Lord graciously gave us a second Trump term. Now, we have a fighting chance to begin the process of restoring trust, but it will take time and intentionality. President Trump’s promises to reinstate those who were unjustly kicked out of the military for the unlawful COVID shot mandate, and to give them back pay, is one giant leap in the right direction. Moreover, appointing disrupters like Pete Hegseth as the Secretary of Defense will go a LONG way to restoring trust in this important institution. America is back, and our military has a new hope!

“Hostages are coming back home.”

One of the only times Joe Biden and Kamala Harris stood with the rest of the crowd was when President Trump said, “I’m pleased to say that as of yesterday, one day before I assumed office, the hostages in the Middle East are coming back home to their families.”

Let’s continue to pray that President Trump will stand with Israel.

President Trump Led America in Taking Communion

It would have been amazing if this was how President Trump ended his speech, but it was in a dream Gina Gholston had on April 7, 2020. Dutch Sheets shared her dream hours before the inauguration, and he challenged us to decree “that an outpouring of Holy Spirit is coming to America, bringing back a love for God’s Word, passionate prayer, and covenantal intimacy with the Lord.”

Let’s join in this decree!

Here’s IFA’s coverage of the inauguration:

If you prefer to read the speech you can do that here.

As the word from Our Lord in Isaiah assured believers that “no weapon formed against us will succeed” and He will “silence every voice raised against us”, that “this is the heritage of the servants of the LORD”, we are grateful for the peaceful transfer of power and the safety of all those in the inauguration ceremony.
We will continue to pray that all the evil powers both human and spiritual that seek to silence and thwart the revival in this nation will be overcome “by the blood of the Lamb”.

Isaiah 11:2 gives the 7 spirits of God. Father we pray that these 7 spirits would be demonstrated in our President Trump. Keep him humble before you but may he draw closer to you. We as intercessors will stay on the wall of prayer for Pres Trump VP Vance, their families and the cabinet. May every decision made be bathed in prayer. Just as we saw God at work in Presidents speech yesterday

Praying President Trump, VP Vance and all in authority will surrender and seek God’s will in decisions, they will come to God in humility; binding Satan. May people realize Jesus is the answer.

I was a bit disappointed when I saw that President Trump did not lay his left hand on the Bibles yesterday.

A major change I noticed in the various speeches President Trump made as part of the Inauguration ceremonies was his use of “We” as opposed to “Me.” It was clear to me that compared to his previous term, he rarely referred to he being able to accomplish the many daunting task before him as an individual challenge, rather he acknowledged that his supporters and cabinet would be the change agents.

He did rehash all the wrong that he has faced and did reveal further details, but in closely listening there was revelation as to how deep the swamp (devil) has been the driver behind the wheel for many years in this nation (the pardons seem to support this premise).

My prayer is that President Trump would continue to walk in the admonition of the Lord, being led by the Holy Spirit. As he refers to “we”, he will fully recognize and comprehend that “we” includes God, God’s people as well as those who supported Trump in the election. His sense of humility will further be evidenced as he and we witness the miracle, signs and wonders that are beyond what man could accomplish. Let Pres. Trump seek you daily and be your main Cabinet Member! Thank you, Father, for honoring our prayers, In Jesus Name we pray.

I’m so thankful for President Trump and what he is called to do these next 4 years. However, I’m really confused why he did NOT place his hand on the Bibles but left his arm at his side while swearing in. Did anyone notice that?

It was commented on by CBN news correspondents. One stated that Melania came up a little late w/the Bibles. Another stated that it’s not a constitutional requirement for him to put his hand on the Bible.

Our Father, I pray we would each pray for our current city fathers and also take responsibility in replacing those leaders that do not reflect the intentions Trump expressed in his acceptance speech. May we be faithful to do whatever great or little things you have called us to do. In Jesus name, amen.

The inauguration speech was one of the best speeches I have ever heard. I believe the President is getting things back on track quickly. We need to take the responsibility of continually praying for the President and his staff. There is still a lot to be done.
