President Biden has released another executive action on immigration to address a complicated situation that faces hundreds of thousands of families. Our prayers can make a difference in this situation.
From The Christian Post. President Joe Biden has issued new executive actions that could protect hundreds of thousands of people from deportation by allowing certain undocumented spouses and children of United States citizens to apply for lawful permanent residency without leaving the country.

“Today, President Biden is announcing that the Department of Homeland Security will take action to ensure that U.S. citizens with noncitizen spouses and children can keep their families together,” a fact sheet released by the White House Tuesday states. “This new process will help certain noncitizen spouses and children apply for lawful permanent residence — status that they are already eligible for — without leaving the country.”
To be eligible for protection, noncitizens must have resided in the U.S. for at least 10 years or more, be legally married to a U.S. citizen and satisfy all legal requirements. According to the White House, those who are eligible for the process have, on average, resided in the U.S. for 23 years.
“These actions will promote family unity and strengthen our economy, providing a significant benefit to the country and helping U.S. citizens and their noncitizen family members stay together,” the White House statement reads.
Applications will be approved on a case-by-case basis. Those accepted into the program will be given three years to apply for permanent residency, during which time they will be able to remain with their families and be eligible for work authorization.
The White House estimates that the action will “protect approximately half a million spouses of U.S. citizens, and approximately 50,000 noncitizen children under the age of 21 whose parent is married to a U.S. citizen.”
In addition, the announcement will allow recipients of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals deportation protection for undocumented immigrants who entered the U.S. as minors who have earned a degree at an accredited U.S. institution of higher education and received an employment offer from a U.S. employer in a field related to their degree to receive work visas more quickly.
“Recognizing that it is in our national interest to ensure that individuals who are educated in the U.S. are able to use their skills and education to benefit our country, the Administration is taking action to facilitate the employment visa process for those who have graduated from college and have a high-skilled job offer, including DACA recipients and other Dreamers,” the statement reads.
The new executive actions come just weeks after Biden issued executive actions to prohibit migrants who illegally enter the U.S. from receiving asylum when the border enforcement agencies are overwhelmed, while still allowing 2,500 people to enter the country daily, or over 900,000 people annually.
Tuesday’s announcement was met with praise from faith-based immigration resettlement agencies.
“We’re encouraged to see the Biden administration protect a vulnerable group of people who have come to call the U.S. their home,” said Krish O’Mara Vignarajah, president and CEO of Global Refuge, formerly known as Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service.
“This move will provide a sense of relief to the thousands of mixed immigration status families living in the shadows in this country who qualify. The emotional toll these families have experienced due to the uncertainty about their loved ones’ ability to stay in this country had to be immeasurable.”
The executive actions were criticized by Senate Republicans ahead of the announcement. Republican Whip Sen. John Thune of South Dakota said the plan would increase “incentive for people to come here illegally.”
“I am sure they’ll be challenged,” Thune said, according to CNN.
Sen. Thom Tillis, R-N.C., told the outlet that a better solution would be to pass a bipartisan immigration reform bill, which Congress has failed to do for decades. Tillis was among several Republicans who voted against the bipartisan border security bill earlier this year. Republicans accused the bill of failing to solve the border crisis and incentivizing illegal immigration.
Considering the move is expected to be challenged in court, Senate Majority Whip Dick Durbin, D-Ill., chair of the Senate Judiciary Committee, said in a statement that passing legislation is the only way to guarantee legal protections for eligible immigrants.
Amid a closely contested 2024 presidential election, public polling suggests that Americans largely disapprove of Biden’s handling of illegal immigration and the border. The Real Clear Politics average of polls on the immigration issue conducted between May 15 and June 11 show Biden is 28 percentage points underwater.

I think Biden has done this trying to secure votes. He does not care about the border chaos. If he had he would have left in place President Trump’s orders, that were working, and then had congress pass a law solving this problem. Instead his administration has done everything to make the illegal immigration problem worse in hopes of maintaining power for the democratic party which is destroying the US and its constitution. Jesus protect Americans from the evil that comes to infiltrate our country. We ask for people in our government to have courage to close the borders and deport the people who come here illegally. God help us to help the ones in America who desperately need help.
Father in the name of Jesus, laws are to be obeyed, especially by the nations highest authorities. Borders have been crossed illegally, immigrants who crossed illegally have been rewarded while working poor who are just over income deadlines cant receive help. it isnt right. Many sponsored immigrants come here legally and work hard, we applaud them becaused they followed a legal process and have every right to apply for citizenship. We know right from wrong and so do both categories of immigrants. only those here legally should be allowed to stay and apply for citizenship. please intervene and see to ot that criminals are not rewarded, that those here illegally can and will be deported. I find the attitude behind the policy discussed in this article appalling. It uses an appeal to family as a means to justify lawlessness. For 20 years (1977-1997), I worked various border and drug interdiction cases. It was a bad situation then and it is a horrible situation today. Yes, my heart truly goes out to the innocent illegal aliens that are not the only victims of a United States political culture that seeks cheap labor and wants to overturn the Judeo Christian principles upon which our country is based. For them, Leviticus 19: 9-10 comes to mind… “When you reap the harvest of your land, you are not to reap to the very edge of your field or gather the gleanings of your harvest. Do not strip your vineyard bare or gather its fallen grapes. Leave them for the poor and the resident alien; I am the Lord your God.”
But, I am always amazed how faith based organizations cheer a partisan political band aid while ignoring the very attack on their foundations. Rarely do they forcefully speak out against the underlying problem in the first place (I think IFA does). Not all illegal aliens are so innocent. I have personally arrested drug traffickers… seen them deported… and… again arrested them within 12 months. This action went on all the time. Even in my law enforcement era, Latin American jails were emptied and inmate travel to America facilitated.
Now, it is much worse. This administration’s policy is to aid and abet illegal aliens crossing the border with little or no vetting. While some come for a fresh start, I have heard others openly express that they are entitled to a house, a phone, an education and free health care. It is criminal and I don’t think that it is Biblical. We were designed to tend a garden… not to collect free stuff. Drugs manufactured in China pour into the United States, Women and children are trafficked. The border is open to terrorist’s and military aged men from countries that despise the United States. China buys land next to our military bases… as many as 19. Illegals are housed in New York City hotels and our homeless veterans are ignored. Crime is increasing while some city governments choose to identify with the criminal rather than the true victim. It is unbelievable!
A personal snap shot about cheap labor: In 1972/1973, I made $1900 working a summer job… mowing grass, general labor and pool guarding for one company… at two dollars per hour. That translates to about $8000 per year. It was long hours of honorable, hard work! I lived at home but could have afforded a car and a one bedroom apartment on that job. In 1977, my first year in the military, I made $8300. Not a lot, but enough to live on. To remain active and supplement social security, I perform similar work today. I make eleven dollars an hour… about $11,000 per year. That amount would not be enough to make ends meet in 2024. God gives people career choices and compensation varies accordingly… but something fundamental has changed with the American labor market. (Do not muzzle the ox at the grist mill… Deuteronomy 25: 4 and 1 Corinthians 9:9 come to mind). Exorbitant minimum wage laws are not the answer either.
These are complex matters. I’m offering a short seven decade observation combined with a little expertise on the border. In reality, these are sin and heart issues! Jesus has the answers! But Christians need to pray and call for action! Consider Nehemiah 8: 1-2… “And all the people gathered at the square which was in front of the Water Gate and they asked Ezra the scribe to bring the book of the law of Moses which the Lord had given to Israel. Then Ezra the priest brought the law before the assembly of men, women and all who could listen with understanding on the first day of the seventh month.” Christians in America need to publicly call for the Book! We need revival! We need to hold elected officials accountable! Most challenging of all… we need to undo the evil policies that have crept into our government. Respectfully presented… Please forgive my blind spots… all glory and honor to Jesus Christ!
Oh Lord God, we know Biden doesn’t care about anything and anyone, but to get the illegal votes to continue the evil workmanship has produced during his time ruining the country, with his Executive Branch. Please have Americans give glory to you! It’s the only way 🙏!!
Maybe if all the Intercessors pulled together to pray for God to surround each illegal with His messenger angels to help them receive THE TRUTH of God and His Love for them, through various means, including dreams and visions of Jesus and the truth of what this current administration is trying to turn this nation into, like the countries many of them have come out of, they would do a complete flip from what this administration wants.
Ultimately saved souls is what we need to pray for… even the illegals who have come here with the purpose of waiting for their orders for an attempt at a takeover. ESPECIALLY them!

Father… YOUR will be done in the lives of each and every illegal so that they each receive the truthful information to help them each become who YOU created them to be, not who they are now. In Jesus’ Holy Name.
Father God,
I ask that you move by the Holy Spirit to correct this huge issue that Biden is casusing in America, allowing the illeglal immigrants to come freely into America. We command that the enemy’s plot and his plans to backfire on satan himself and his demonic assignments to renderpoweerless and be null and void in Jesus name!!! We have had ENOUGH!!! We pray that the Holy Spirit will sweep across this nation to bring those who choose to do harm, to be stopped in their tracks, now in Jesus name. We pray that Biden will stop desiring to be voted in by the college students and the illegal immigrants. We ask you Lord to take Biden and his staff captive by your will in Jesus name. We pray for Biden and his staff to come to their senses before it is too late in their lives. May the Holy Spirit move upon them to minister to Biden and his staff and bring them to their knees and to know to repent and ask Jesus for mercy in their lives. Sweep throughout this whole nation, Father God by your Spirit, to move in all people for salvation and to be spirit filled in these last day. We call forth ministering Angels who will be heirs of salvation and the people will come to their senses to realize they need Jesus to save them from their sins. Thank You, Father God for answering prayers and bringing life and life more abuntantly in peoples lives. We rebuke the enemy for coming to kill, steal and destroy as it says in John 10:10. We pray for America to have a turn around with the sweeping of the Holy Spirit in each individual, Jesus name!
This executive action on immigration is ridiculous – a joke – a farce!!!

The Biden administration caused this problem. They can’t fix it – and undoubtedly don’t want to (thus the bandaid) – Only God can correct this.

Immigration is personal for me:
My husband followed all legal demands to “qualify” for US citizenship. He was pursuing this when we met and after we married I continued to support his efforts. He never received any government aid and was thoroughly vetted, as was I. Amnesty for more than 500,000 illegal aliens is wrong. We are in the middle of a border crisis and America is at a tipping point. I phoned the White House about this but I don’t have confidence my comment was relayed as it is contrary to this administration’s plans. They do very little for the good of “we the people” and much too much for the good of their agenda.
Dear Heavenly Father, You love all Your children. I pray for all of us, legal and “illegal.” I pray for opportunities for all immigrants who desire to be lawfully considered as productive members of our society. For those who want to skirt well intended but poorly enforced laws, I pray Your justice will prevail. I pray for conviction with Your children who comprise this administration and who are ignoring many of our long standing rules of law. I pray favor for all the hard working Americans who continue to do (in this increasingly difficult time) what they do, to support their families. I believe amnesty is an untenable proposition so I ask for You to guide all of Your children in our government to be law abiding and diligent and to provide liberty and justice for all.

Satisfy all legal requirements? Very ambiguous language, and I fear that wooing of American citizens may increase at a staggering pace for people trying to avoid deportation. I do feel for those who are families facing deportation of an illegal parent, yet this status was very likely known when people got themselves into these situations. The end justifying the means has never been a good policy, and the more we keep bending the law to reward those who choose to break it, the more people will seek to ignore our immigration laws. May God protect and guide us as we face this ongoing invasion of our country.

those who work at this difficult task to obtain their citizenship agree with those of us who are second generation citizens.!!
our ancestors overcame huge obstacles to get into this country to be safe and we owe it to them to keep this country’s laws and procedures!
those who break the law to get in should be deported at the expense of the country they came from.

When my son marked a foreigner her desire was to become a US citizen. She applied and went through the “right” channels. My belief is that all do the same! They too need to know the constitution and obey the laws!
