I Prayed have prayed
Lord Jesus, thank You for blessing the film Unplanned. Please use the movie to save lives and bring healing and hope.

The pro-life movie “Unplanned” finished in 8th place at the box office this weekend. The film finished in a surprising 4th place during its first weekend before expanding to theaters once again.

Unplanned which opened in theaters nationwide on March 29th, depicts the true story of Abby Johnson, a former Planned Parenthood Director who becomes pro-life after watching a baby be aborted on an ultrasound screen.

Despite little coverage outside of Christian media circles, an ‘R’ rating, and a temporarily suspended Twitter account on March 30th, the film brought in $6.1 million in its opening weekend—dubling the film’s projection for expected box office earnings. Distributor Pure Flix expanded to an additional 500 screens over the weekend. The film earned another estimated $3.2 million after expanding to 1,515 screens.

Unplanned was written and directed by Cary Solomon and Chuck Konzelman, the writers/co-producers of God’s Not Dead and God’s Not Dead 2. The film is an adaptation of Johnson’s best-selling 2010 autobiographical book of the same name.

Partially financed by MyPillow executive Mike Lindell, the controversial film made national news last year when lead actress Ashley Bratcher revealed that it wasn’t until she was on set filming when she learned that while her mother was pregnant with her, she nearly aborted her.

“After watching the screening of the film, we’ve had thousands of women come and tell us about having an abortion thirty or forty years ago. And for the first time in their life, they are free. What is the value of that?” Solomon and Konzelman told SoCal Voice.

Since the article interviewing the writers/producers of the film, SoCal Voice has received several emails from people who saw the film and were convicted to pray outside of their local Planned Parenthood.

“Planned Parenthood is down the street from our son’s church. After seeing the film, I was convicted to go pray. I can’t believe I haven’t before now,” said Krystal Pister from North Carolina. “There is a house for sale right next to the Planned Parenthood. I’m praying that property is bought and is turned into a Christian Pregnancy Counseling Center.”

Unplanned is different from any other film that has been made on the abortion issue, following Ashley Johnson, one the youngest clinic directors in Planned Parenthood history who was named the organization’s employee of the year in 2008. Although Johnson had undergone two abortions herself, she didn’t know much about the actual procedure until she assisted in an emergency ultrasound-guided abortion. What she saw changed everything.

The film depicts the procedure that prompted Johnson to quit Planned Parenthood and found And Then There Were None, a group that has assisted workers at abortion clinics to leave the industry.

“I’ll tell you, this movie is anointed in an amazing way. The Lord is using this film as the counter for the infanticide laws. It’s going to change the world,” said Solomon.

The box office results are a small display of the power of God and prayer. We urge you to continue praying for the success of this film.

This is an excellent movie, well made and exposing the backers of this atrocity. It is amazing how blind people can be who don’t see what is so obvious. May the Lord use this richly to wipe out the murder of babies in the womb. They are called fetus which is what the dictionary calls the unborn young of an animal. May the Lord have mercy and bring conviction and repentance.

My husband and I saw Unplanned the first weekend it was out and we were so touched and at the same time horrified at the crass attitude of the doctor and the employees as they lied to the women coming in about the baby feeling no pain. Especially horrifying was the way they laughed and joked about the room where the body parts had to be put together to make a whole baby that had been aborted. I’m so thankful that this movie showed the truth of what goes on in planned Parenthood and I pray that it will cause our country to repent for the murder of babies in the womb.May God have mercy on us.

I just got to see this film yesterday. I thought I had missed seeing it, but blessed to know it is still in theaters and after seeing it I know that no one can see it and not be touched. I pray that lives will be radically changed through this movie. May God bless all who took a part in the production and release. May He keep them safe from attacks by the enemy. May lives be saved. I am sure we will never know the full impact of this film, but God knows each life that is touched and He is moving in hearts. Praise God.

I saw it and was very impressed and shocked that the employees think they are doing good things for women. It’s a war on women and children.

God touched our hearts and minds and souls through this film. Thanks for your courage to produce and show it nationwide. May God use it to stop the killing of people who are so dear to Him. May women who aborted their babies find ultimate grace and forgiveness in Christ; and, may they fight for life with all their being. May we all do the same, particularly for eternal life, the most important kind.

Thank You, Lord, for the success of this movie. May it touch the hearts of all who see it and may others be drawn to seeing it. I ask that you bless all the Christian movies that come out. Protect and bless everyone involved and anoint their prayers for abortion to be recognized for what it is. Amen.

I praise You, Father and Creator for working through this movie to speak to many people. Thank You for giving courage to Abby Johnson to take a stand and proclaim truth. May Your power continue to reach the hearts and minds of many people and may the murder of innocent, sweet, little babies be stopped.
In the Precious name of Jesus, Amen

I worked in the Pro-life arena for about 20 years. This film is excellent, truthful, convicting and powerful because God wants the truth to be told. My heartfelt thanks to the procurers and all who have made it possible. I am praying to our Lord for fruit to come from these efforts for years to come.
