The new document [reaffirms] that marriage is a lifelong sacrament between a man and a woman. And it stresses that blessings should not be conferred at the same time as a civil union or even with the clothing and gestures that belong in a wedding.
But it says requests for such blessings should not be denied full stop. It offers an extensive definition of the term “blessing” in Scripture to insist that people seeking a transcendent relationship with God and looking for his love and mercy should not be subject to “an exhaustive moral analysis” as a precondition for receiving it. …

In his essay, Father Martin addresses and corrects the impression by some well-meaning Catholics that “nothing has changed.”
“But a great deal has in fact changed,” the priest notes. “Before this document was issued, there was no permission for bishops, priests and deacons to bless couples in same-sex unions in any setting. This document establishes, with some limitations, that they can.” …
“Today, with some limitations, I can perform a public blessing of a same-sex couple. Yesterday, I could not,” he concludes. …
As Franciscan Father Thomas Weinandy, a prominent American theologian and the former head of the doctrinal office of the U.S. Bishops Conference, has observed, everyone rightly understands a blessing as an affirmation of what is being blessed.
To bless same-sex couples without giving the impression that the Church is validating their sexual activity is “a charade,” Weinandy writes. “All those present at such blessings know, without a doubt, that such relationships are sexual in nature. No one is fooled.”
“Actually, they are rejoicing that such sexual relations are being blessed. That’s the point of these blessings,” he adds. “It is not their sexual abstinence being blessed, but their sexual indulgence.”
This is why until now the Vatican has prohibited such blessings, since such a structurally sinful relationship is “unblessable.” …
In allowing such blessings, the new Vatican Declaration takes pains to insist that they should not be given in liturgical settings and should not be confused with sacramental marriage.
At the same time, it undeniably opens the door to the notion that homosexual couples are now “blessable.” …

First off, let us bless the Lord Jesus during these last days of Advent and put ourselves in the Manger
with our Blessed Mother and Saint Joseph on Christmas Day so that entering into this incomprehensible
mystery of God taking flesh in the Divine Person of Christ, we can be prepared to meet him on that day
of judgment-his second coming.
No one who has half of his cerebral cortex functioning should be surprised at Bergoglio’s heresies and wild aberrations
from Gospel truth, Apostolic Tradition and immutable Doctrines of our Lord’s Church. From the day he was installed as
the coveted “Hipster Pope” by the liberation theologians infested in the College of Cardinals and Bishoprics throughout
the Church Universal, Bergoglio has fumbled, bamboozled and deluded his own susceptible mind to the secularism that
we are now mired in. Let us lay hold of what Saint James said in his epistle, “whoever is a lover of this world is a hater
of God” and what our Blessed Lord said in Matthew’s Gospel, “A good tree cannot bear rotten fruit nor a rotten tree good
fruit. By their fruits you will know them.” To have the utter gall and audacity to bless the mortal sin of Sodomy which is one
of the four sins that cry out for God’s vengeance is to put the priesthood under the relativism of this sordid world and of
Satan himself and to lead people to the rungs of perdition as Dante so described in his Divine Comedy. If children are not
spiritually and morally bound to obey parents who have been abusive, coercive, destructive and downright evil, why should
any sane Catholic put himself under this anti-Pope’s false tutelage and skullduggery and have the idiocy to call his drool
sound Church teaching? We thank you Lord Jesus for building your Church on the surest and most reliable foundation,
yourself, and no human flesh or the gates of the netherworld shall prevail against it as you promised to Saint Peter. Now that
is the best Christmas present to receive in what seems like the beginning of the end times and in this insidious gay church
which has set up shop and fully ensconced in your one, true, holy and apostolic Church.

What a misleading headline. In regard to blessings, I wonder what allowance is granted for those who openly defy the Word of God?
“Is not My word like fire”—this is the LORD’s declaration—”and like a hammer that pulverizes rock? Jeremiah 23:29

The pope is a jesuit, an anti Christ spirit. God has commanded Do not call anyone father! God is your Father if you are a born again believer. He is a worker of satan. He blasphemes God daily, and while blessing sin, he is endorsing it.
This woke “pope” has done such damage to the Catholic church. I pray he will come out from under all the left influences.
I agree. If you can’t marry a gay couple they shouldn’t be blessed either.
