And you will be hated by all for my name’s sake. But the one who endures to the end will be saved.

Authoritarianism, religious nationalism, and spreading Islamic extremism fueled the unprecedented growth of persecution against Christians last year, according to a new report from Open Doors. The organization released its annual World Watch List.

The report, which tracks the 50 most oppressive countries for Christians to live in, found 245 million believers now face high levels of persecution, up by 30 million since the last list came out a year ago. Persecution grew worse in many countries, including India and China, while others, like Russia and Morocco, joined the list for the first time.

Open Doors pointed to a number of new tactics against Christians, including the use of technology as a tool for persecution. It also found Christian women and girls face unparalleled danger.

“The data proves conclusively that Christian women are the most exploited group on the face of the earth today,” Open Doors USA CEO David Curry said, noting persecutors target women for forced marriage, sexual violence, abduction, trafficking, and more.

Gender-specific persecution is the easiest and most effective means of religious oppression, said Helen Fisher, the global gender persecution specialist for Open Doors. She said Christian women face a “double vulnerability,” noting, “The ease comes from the fact that persecuting them blends in. You don’t see it. It looks like something any other woman might experience: touching in the streets, discrimination in education, travel bans, domestic violence. And yet, these are all avenues to be able to specifically target the Christian woman.”

Researchers with Open Doors found that in the five worst countries—North Korea, Afghanistan, Somalia, Libya, and Pakistan—Christian women suffered more than men due to the use of sexual violence as a means of power and control. Hundreds of Christian girls are abducted, raped, and forcibly married to Muslims each year in Pakistan alone. But gender-specific persecution of religious minority women is not isolated to those five countries, as survivors of Islamic terror groups such as Boko Haram in Nigeria and ISIS in Syria and Iraq can attest….

“A church must be a sacred place in China and everywhere else,” Curry said. (Excerpts from Julia A. Seymour article in WORLD)

Lord I pray for the Christian ladies who are abducted. May they rise above what society will value them as, because we understand the treachery of Satan is to make them socially isolated due to their having been raped. May they find strength and dignity. May they raise any resulting offspring as Christians. “The hand that rocks the cradle rules the world.” In this way may Christianity make inroads into the pagan world. Lord comfort these sisters and protect them, give them understanding and peace. May they have a clear vision of the reward awaiting them in Heaven, where there is no separation or pain and every tear is dried. In your precious name dear Holy Lord Jesus we pray. Even so, come quickly.

Lord Jesus, King of heaven and earth, I pray for our persecuted brethren, that you will strengthen them to stand strong in the face of opposition. Give them your presence, your peace, and your power to forgive their persecutors, to love their enemies, and to continue to preach the good news to all they can. Provide for their every need in miraculous ways, food, shelter, clothing, comfort. Give them great grace to spiritually and emotionally weather their circumstances. Be glorified in their lives. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

My spirit is touched always when I hear of such going on in our world, so I pray for an invasion of your Spirit and Power into the lives of those who are subject to persecution. I pray that you Oh, Heavenly Father-Father to all-will bring destruction to those who perpetrating such atrocities upon our fellow human being. Make Your presence be known to them in a most obvious way that will communicate to them Your love and peace. In His Name, Amen!

Comfort them???????????????????????? Lord Rise up and protect them, translate them, empower them, Ultimately save them BODY, SOUL, & Spirit, remember BODY save their bodies. It is nothing for God Almighty to do the same to suffering Christians as He did for Daniel in the Lion’s den, Meshad, Shadrack and Abendigo, And Abraham, when Sarah was taken. We have the indwelling Holy Spirit, they did not, none of them. Pray their lives are spared.

Dear Lord, we lift up all your children who are being persecuted for your sake. Help them to stand strong in the midst of these difficult times. Lord, let them feel your Presence! That is what will get them through each and every day. Our hearts go out to them and we are praying for you to show yourself strong in their lives so they do not turn back. Have mercy on them Lord. Thank you that you see. You are El Roi, the God who sees everything and cares and loves them so much. Carry them through Lord! Thank you for making yourself known to them.
