Even after the Supreme Court ruled in his favor and he won a decisive electoral victory, some are still calling on Congress to block President Trump from taking office. Will any lawmakers take up these columnists on their plan?

In a column published Thursday, Evan A. Davis and David M. Schulte argued that the 14th amendment enables Congress to object to the electoral votes since they consider Trump, in their words, “an oath-breaking insurrectionist.”
Article 3 of the 14th Amendment bars former officeholders who “engaged in insurrection” or has “given aid or comfort to the enemies” from holding public office again. The restriction can be removed by a two-thirds vote in each House.
Citing this disqualification, Davis, a former editor-in-chief of the Columbia Law Review, and Schulte, former editor-in-chief of the Yale Law Journal, claimed that Trump is ineligible to be president. The pair called on Congress to take action when they meet in a joint session to formally count the electoral votes next week. …
The authors cited Trump’s second impeachment trial, the Jan. 6 Capitol attack probe by Congress and the Colorado Supreme Court’s ruling to disqualify the former and incoming president from appearing on the state’s ballots in 2024 as reasons for his ineligibility. …

The Colorado state ruling to kick Trump off the ballot on the basis of the 14th amendment disqualification found that there was “clear and convincing evidence that President Trump engaged in insurrection as those terms are used in Section Three,” Davis and Schulte wrote.
But the decision was appealed, and the U.S. Supreme Court ruled in Trump’s favor, concluding that “states have no power under the Constitution to enforce Section 3 with respect to federal offices, especially the Presidency.”
Still, Davis and Schulte griped that the “court did not address the finding that Trump had engaged in insurrection,” insisting that the Supreme Court’s decision in this case does not preclude Congress from rejecting electoral votes when they convene on Jan. 6. …

Many of you support Mr. Trump because of prophecies made about him. I want to point out to you that prophecies which come through the gift of prophecy are conditional. The person on the receiving end has to receive them and stand on them. Other people can’t claim a prophecy for another person. There is every indication that while Mr. Trump received some of what was prophesied over him that he could well have rejected some of it, or, at least, not received it as yet.
I also wish to point out that some very knowledgeable and respected Christian men have remarked on parallels between Mr. Trump and Biblical kings but their comparisons are based on what they think occurred. Mr. Trump was only a passive player in the appointment of the three supreme court judges. For one, there was God who surely played a role in allowing a supreme court judge, who was struggling against illness, to die at that moment and not another. It was the Federalist Society selected the candidates; Mr. Trump approved them. Many of you have forgotten that during his first term, Mr. Trump was in constant conflict with Republican leaders. The feelings were intense on both sides. It was Senator McConnell who talked to those who were on the fence and got them to vote for those candidates. Overall, it was the hand of God who brought about the change of the court. So, Mr. Trump did not break an altar of child sacrifice to Bel. If you will remember, after he got the nomination this time around, he announced that he would veto any attempt to end abortion.
God’s will aligns with His character, and one of His attributes is wisdom. He would not have us act contrary to what is wise and not everything Mr. Trump does is wise.
I believe God chose him for such a time as this, I don’t know about any prophecy, but I know GOD, if HE SAVED THIS MAN, not just from one assassin but two, I would suggest you support him also, lest you be fighting against GOD.

Trump was never convicted in a court of law for insurrection but these talking heads never paid attention, there was never a conviction verdict, he was never convicted of anything.
Who is not paying attention? Did you not read the article? Trump was found guilty by a Colorado court for insurrection. The Supreme Court found that the state of Colorado did not have the power to enforce Section 3. The Supreme Court did not say that Trump was not guilty of insurrection.

The Supreme court ruling indicated that there was a difference between what a president does as an official and what he does as a private citizen. This caused prosecutors to pause and rethink their cases. Then there was a hold put on prosecuting him because of acts he may have done as a candidate running for office because they didn’t want the case to influence the election. But he may be charged after he leaves office. I personally feel that he crossed lines which he shouldn’t have but at this point, the issue needs to be dropped. I don’t think it is for the good of the country to put a former president in jail and by the time he leaves office, he will be 85?
Anyone seeking to block President Trump from taking office should be dealt with as traitors under USC – CH115 – SEC2381 -2390. The strongest penalties should be applied.

Trump won by a landslide, including unlikely voters. Not only did he win electorially,, but only the popular vote. Not only this, but he caused BOTH houses of Congress to flip to Republican. THIS is the will of the people. In a democracy, this MUST stand. Sure there are many who were not happy about Trump’s immense victory, but they should just realize that there are winners and there are losers. Their wanting to block him, if successful, overturns the overwhelming will of the people. The people are NOT going to just forget about it. There WILL BE ill will and a tremendous push back. Gee, we thought Trumps overwhelming victory was already a HUGE push back.
Actually, Trump won by 2% of the popular vote. He won because some people voted against Harris, and not necessary because everyone was voting for him personally. If you will remember in the primary a significant percentage of Republicans voted for other candidates. He won because some people felt like they had no choice but to vote for him.
I think a lot of Republicans support most of positions. If you will remember, when he actually came out and said what his positions were (after his nomination), they were almost the same as the stated positions of Desantis and Haley. But I think some are concerned about his lack of control and some are concerned about parts of his platform, like tariffs. So, no he hasn’t been given a mandate.

I noticed that one of the popular prophets actually said in the video being circulated that Trump lost in 2020 because people voted against him, implying that it was not election fraud. Prophets are called to speak the truth and to correct leaders and the people, and I find it disappointing that he has not said anything to those who have gone after election poll workers who have been harassed and their lives threatened.
By January 6, there had been investigations by independent parties which came to the same conclusion and the conclusion was that there was not enough fraud to overturn the election. It is a shame that with there being a strong possibility that Biden had won the election that Christian leaders still encouraged the mob to go to Washington.

The House Republicans may already be blocking the President. These demon filled politicians need to be removed from their positions in office. Please Lord I pray that our Country end the unrest and lawlessness, the senseless crimes against the innocent children and their families.

Trump is the best choice for our country and for out Globe. Although I respect the opinion of every US Citizen, it is time we move forward with our currently elected US President Trump. Any dragging on against is not in our national interest. I think Trump will do well to lead our nation and our world.
I pray that the fear of the Lord would be upon every lawmaker both Democrat and republican. I pray that any and all plans of the devil and his cohorts to prevent Donald Trump from taking office would be exposed and thwarted. I pray for his and his family’s protection.

We do pray, Lord, that this demonically inspired hatred against President Trump will not prosper, and that the election would be upheld by the Congress. We also pray for President Trump’s protection, and for the protection of those men and women who are standing with him, and for the protection of their families. We pray that the wicked will fall into their own pit that they had devised against others.
As long as Christians, we keep praying for God‘s will to be done. This will get defeated, and President Trump will be who God has destined him to be and appointed him.
