It has been one year since Hamas attacked Israel, killing over 1,000 people and taking over 200 hostages. At the time, the world watched in horror as innocent people were raped, killed, and kidnapped.

A year later, Israel is still at war. Not only is the IDF still fighting against Hamas, they are fighting against other forces as well. In fact, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu recently claimed that Israel is fighting a war on 7 fronts:
“We are fighting in Gaza against Hamas, the savages who murdered, raped, beheaded, and burned our people on October 7th,” the prime minister declared. “We are fighting in Lebanon against Hezbollah, the most heavily armed terror organization in the world, which was planning an even greater massacre than October 7th on our northern border, and that has rocketed Israeli towns and cities for nearly a year.”
Israel is also fighting the Houthis in Yemen, Shiite militias in Iraq and Syria, terrorists in Judea and Samaria, and the regime in Tehran that has hit Israel twice in the past six months with missile barrages and drones.
For many, the pain of October 7 is still fresh. Many are still in anguish over the lives lost, and many are still sickeningly anxious over the fate of the hostages still trapped in Gaza. In remembrance of this tragic massacre, President Isaac Herzog is currently undertaking a three-day journey to sites around Israel, such as military bases and communities that were impacted.
It is with solemn reverence that we acknowledge this anniversary. However, there are also many positive things to focus on. God has clearly shown his protective hand over Israel in the year since this attack.
We reported on how God protected Israel from Iran in April. We have also covered updates from Israel regularly on our Israel at War post. Most recently, IFA President/CEO Dave Kubal shared several answered prayers from Israel on October’s First Friday broadcast.
Over the weekend, the IDF destroyed a terror tunnel used by Hezbollah in northern Israel. You can see a video of this tunnel below:

Hezbollah wanted to use this tunnel to carry out “the next October 7th,” according to an Israeli spokesman. Despite this, the IDF foiled the attack before it could be attempted. We thank God for this, and we pray that there never would be a “next October 7th.” On the first anniversary of the October 7 attack, we pray there would not be a second anniversary like it. We pray that the war would end before October 7, 2025. We pray for the peace of Jerusalem!
Why should the nations say, “Where is their God?” Let there be known among the nations in our sight The avenging of the blood of Your servants which has been shed (Psalm 79:10).

Doesn’t the Bible say that when Israel is surrounded by armies, Jesus will come in the rapture?
The question is, “at which point in time?” In reality, they have been surrounded by armies and terrorists since 1948 when they were re-established as a nation, and they been attacked by terrorists from within and without consistently since then. Israel, and specifically Jerusalem, are the epicenter of God’s plan of redemption for the world. I urge you to seek Him, and His answers to your question – be ready for His return, but also be ready for whatever may happen before His return.

Lord, we give You all the glory for the miraculous way that You are protecting Your people Israel! Please continue drawing them to Yourself, through Your Son, Yeshua – their Messiah! May this be a Yom Kippur like no other – a Day of Atonement when Your people recognize and embrace the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world – who has atoned for and cleansed them from their sin. Continue fulfilling Your plan of redemption in and through Israel.
Gaza needs to be cleared out completely and reclaimed for Israel. The a Palestinians failed to be a land for peace. It was a BIG mistake for Israel to give land for peace. May the USA be forgiven for our part in that plan. And who in Israel was in the enemy camp to go along with that plan. Everyone repent and have good boundaries. It seems Hurricane Helene has been USAs Hamas.
Helene was also a tragedy, but I respectfully disagree that it can be likened to the Oct. 7 massacre in Israel, or the continued threat they are experiencing. Terrorism is not the same as a natural disaster, regardless of it’s source or cause. The whole nation of Israel was traumatized, and have had no opportunity to recover. I do agree with your prayer that we as a nation would repent of any part we have played in not supporting Israel, and that the church would also repent.

May God have mercy on the perpetrators of the horror and the disproportionate response by Israel. The suffering inflicted on the people of Gaza is appalling. We now have over 40,000 killed and 100,000 wounded as well as the wonton destruction. Thousands of women and children killed and 130 journalists killed.
Even though the news in Israel is expurgated to omit Palestine suffering many Israelis’ have had enough of their government.

T Mc, Israel was under “cease fire” when Hamas attacked innocent children, men, women and the elderly “unprovoked”. Israel asked for return of all taken hostage multiple times, Hamas refused. Journalist, physicians and other Palestinians helped hold hostages against their will. Which ones helped free them? Women were brutally raped and mutilated, children and families burned alive in Israel, why, because they are Jewish. You cite no sources for your numbers except the false narrative by Hamas. UNWRA helped perpetrate training of innocent children to become terrorist in Palestine, no accountability. Israel sent notification “before” advancing into Palestine. Hamas used their own civilians as human shields (no notice by Hamas). You are spreading propaganda. Please stop. How many rockets has Hamas fired, how many tunnels did they build, how much food have they taken from the needy (their own people)? Please report those statistics as well. Why were rockets and weapons found in schools, mosques and hospitals where tunnels were also built? Why have the Hamas leaders ran and hid to protect themselves? Why no mention of death to America, as has been spewed by the pro Palestinian leaders? We had Americans killed and abducted, what about them? Do you agree and support these type of atrocities? The God I serve is the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, who is yours? Jesus Christ is my Lord and Savior, the only way to everlasting life. Who saves you? We would not be having this conversation if evil had not been intentionally planned and intentionally perpetrated on October 7th. What is your name? What is Palestine willing to do for true and lasting peace? What war crimes will the Hamas leaders be tried for in Palestine or at the UN? Where was the mercy for Israel on October 7th or how about the abducted right now? A Yazidis girl taken at 11 to be trafficked by wicked men, where was her mercy? Answer – IDF found her and returned her to her family not Palestine. “Finally be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power. Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devils schemes”. Ephesians 6:10
“To Him who sits on the throne and unto the Lamb, be blessing and honor and glory and power forever.” Abba Father, please bring Your shalom peace through Jesus and Holy Spirit to Israel and the middle east. May the King of Kings and Lord of Lords be acknowledged as the Messiah and the blood of the Lamb be applied to every family by Your great grace to bring reconciliation with You our blessed Father and everlasting peace to the peoples of the region and our world. Only by You and for Your glory forever and ever amen.
