Lord God, our oil industry needs Your help. We lift up this major issue to You.

As the COVID-19 epidemic spread across the world and communities and states began drastic measures to encourage people to self-isolate, the price of one of our most precious commodities, oil, plummeted on the global market. The results of both could spell economic failure to the United States as well as other nations in the world.

Further complications occurred as a production agreement between Russia and Saudi Arabia failed when Russia failed to follow Saudi Arabia’s plan to deepen price cuts. Now the two nations are locked into a war on which one has the market share. In the middle of the COVID-19 crisis and the two giant oil-producing companies’ fight, are the U. S. oil companies, and the most vulnerable are the smaller oil producers in states like Texas, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Colorado, and North Dakota. Analysts expect the price-war to result in a hit to the U. S. economy and potentially wipe out the smaller independent oil producers. When oil prices drop, smaller companies may go out of business. Most likely the larger oil companies will take advantage of struggling independent producers and purchase the companies at rock bottom prices. Many people may lose their businesses, and many others may lose their jobs.

Dear Lord, I’m grateful to you for the abundant energy you’ve given America. Thank you for the ingenuity of the men and women who took risks and endured hardships to find oil and make it usable. Thank you for the oil industry’s contribution to this nation and the many comforts we enjoy because of the abundant energy you have given us.

Now, Lord, we pray for every oil-related business in America as each one endeavors to weather the storm in which they find themselves. We believe your Word when you said you would be a refuge for the poor, a refuge for the needy in their distress, a shelter from the storm and a shade from the heat. You rebuked your disciples for their failure to rebuke the storm that threatened to take their lives, so Lord, we speak to this storm caused by a disagreement between Saudi Arabia and Russia, and we say, “Peace be still.” We speak to the storm of COVID-19 and we say, “This plague must stop in the mighty Name of Jesus.” We ask that you steady the market. Save our industry from the largest business to the smallest. We say we will stand firm in our faith in you during this time. We will watch and see the deliverance the Lord will give us this day!

(Isaiah 25:4 and Matthew 8:23-26)

  1. I am going to contact my Rep in Congress and let him know what we the people need from this stimulus bill and what we do not, which is funding planned parenthood, etc. My representative unfortunately,is a staunch Democrat and has informed me personally that he will not help President Trump in any way,but I will once again prevail upon his duty as my representative,to do the right thing.

  2. I believe that the Corona Virus is. Judgement from God, for allowing the murder of millions of babies in their mothers womb . Also homosexual marriage . Pray 1st chronicles 7 : 14 and romans 9: 8 Have mercy on us Lord

  4. I am the owner of a small family owned oil and gas business in Pennsylvania. We are in the process of laying off all of our staff and my brother and I as owners are cutting all of our pay.
The ongoing war on fossil fuels and now the 1-2 punch of the price war and COVID-19 have pushed it over the edge.
All of the owners employees of our company are Christians we trust the Lord and we thank him in the good times and we thank him in the tough times.
    Praise the Lord

    1. We pray for you supernatural wisdom and the God who is Strength, our personal bravery, and invincible army who makes our feet like hinds feet to make progress on the high dangerous mountains and trouble, keeping you and yours safe while fighting the good fight of faith on the heights of the trouble, while he is increasing in us teaching our hands to fight and our arm to bend a bow of bronze. Psa.18:33, Hab. 3:19

In His name, may we increase in Him, more and more of Him in us and less and less of us.
The decrease of us, for the increase of Him.

In His name may blessings abound upon you. Grace to hold firm, stable, and steady in the midst of this time.

    2. David, Thank you so much for your comment. I will certainly pray for you. Most people are unaware of the hit independent oil producers take in times like this. I pray you not only recover, but your company prospers beyond anything you’ve done in the past.

(From the email of my great friend, Lois E.)

In the Name of Jesus, our Lord, may it be!

  6. Of all the inventions prior to fracking it is indisputable that Howard Hughes Sr’s discovery of the rotary drilling bit in 1901 revolutionized the oil industry. From my meager knowledge of drilling for oil, it could be looked at as a dynamos procedure of “mixing” iron through “miry clay” to reach the deposit of oil.
Daniel 2:41 – “And whereas thou sawest the feet and toes, part of potters’ clay, and part of iron, the kingdom shall be divided; but there shall be in it of the strength of the iron, forasmuch as thou sawest the iron mixed with miry clay.”
Since the economy of the nations in the middle east “stands” on oil perhaps Nebuchadnezzar’s dream was a vision also including our present times…
