Officials Must Certify Elections, Judge Rules
A Georgia judge ruled that county officials cannot refuse to certify an election, even if they suspect that fraud has taken place.
From Fox News. A judge in a key battleground state has ruled that county election officials must certify results by the legal deadline even if they suspect fraud or mistakes.

Superior Court Judge Robert McBurney of Fulton County, Georgia, ruled that “no election superintendent (or member of a board of elections and registration) may refuse to certify or abstain from certifying election results under any circumstance.”
The officials do have the right to investigate their concerns about the vote count and to review related documents, McBurney wrote, but “any delay in receiving such information is not a basis for refusing to certify the election results or abstaining from doing so.” …
The suit was filed by Fulton County Board of Registration and Elections member Julie Adams and backed by America First Policy Institute …
Adams had voted against certifying the presidential primary results in May. She then sued the Fulton County elections board, arguing she was not able to fulfill her duties as a superintendent after a documents request was denied, and that she was within her rights to not certify the results. …
In his ruling, McBurney wrote that nothing in Georgia law gives county election officials the authority to determine that fraud has occurred or what should be done about it. …

I disagree with the ruling. If fraud is present why would anyone certify it? Time must be given for investigation. The 2020 election had massive fraud as anyone watching the state meetings afterward could see by the testimony of poll workers, voters and pictures/videos of truckloads of boxes of ballots that Republicans were unable to view.
As Tom put it accurately there was NO fraud in 2020 that would have had the slightest effect on the. result. The fact that the lie still has currency reflects little on clear thinking. Trump’s henchman Rudi is now paying $148 million for promoting such nonsense. Pence and all told Trump he had lost – but he preferred a conspiracy.
There is always some fraud in every election. This has been true from the first election up until today. So, no matter what rules or procedures are put in place, some will try and get around it. The 2020 election results were review by non-partisan groups from both parties, the DOJ, more than sixty courts with some of them headed by Trump appointees, lawyers and reporters with foxnews and not enough fraud was found to overturn the election. Trump’s best claims for election fraud which he put in a letter to the Wall Street Journal were proven to be false through links to the court decisions themselves and other official documents or rulings. As time has passed, more and more fraud occurred but it was on the part of those claiming that the election was stolen. Leaving any election results open ended because some fraud is found is not wise.
Father God you love truth and hate injustice. I pray that there are true election results.. Not only in Georgia but throughout the land of the USA. That according to your Word that prayers are being answered now. Because the prayer of the righteous availeth much.
I declare in the name of Jesus’.
Father, I pray that you would guard the elections in Georgia. Bring out truth and foil the plans of those who would pervert the elections.
I am a Florida resident so – fortunately – this ruling is not applicable for me. I don’t know anything about Georgia election law, but the judge’s ruling raises the question: What does certification mean? Are there any standards that need to be met?
