I Prayed have prayed
Father, we join with Allen, Texas, in mourning this shooting. Comfort the brokenhearted, Lord, and bring peace to this community.

In the wake of this tragic shooting in Texas, many chose to look to Jesus for comfort and peace.

From The Christian Post. Hundreds of residents, law enforcement and elected officials gathered Sunday at a North Texas megachurch to pray for the families of those who lost loved ones in a shooting at a local outlet mall.

Cottonwood Creek Church in Allen, located about 2 miles from the Allen Premium Outlets, held a community prayer service that drew mourners from both the community and across the state, including Gov. Greg Abbott, Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick, Attorney General Ken Paxton, and more than two dozen other elected officials.

A heavy police presence was visible from the Sam Rayburn Tollway just north of the campus as a car line stretched back more than half a mile as crowds poured into the megachurch parking lot, where more than a dozen protesters stood with signs reading, “Let this radicalize you” and “My kids are worth more than your guns.”

Boxes of Kleenex were available for those entering the worship center, a symbol of the raw emotion still heavy among the community just hours after a gunman killed eight people and injured seven others before being fatally shot by police at the Allen Premium Outlets mall Saturday afternoon.

With uniformed police and state troopers looking on, several speakers took to the stage to offer prayers of hope, comfort and love, but not before the crowd rose to its feet in a standing ovation for all those first responders who rushed to the chaotic scene at the outlet mall.

Allen Mayor Ken Fulk said even as the shooting continues to be an “ongoing investigation,” he urged those in attendance to pray for the city of Allen, which has over 109,000 residents and is located about 20 miles northwest of Dallas.

“We’re proud to call Allen home,” said Fulk. “Allen is full of kind and compassionate citizens. We are in shock and are all grieving together.”

Graema Golding, a teaching pastor at Cottonwood Creek Church, urged the audience to pray for wisdom for the city’s officials in the coming days and weeks before reading 2 Corinthians 1:3-4, which speaks of the “God of all comfort.”

Golding called on the people of Allen to bring that message to others who might be grieving.

“As we all go back into our community, that we would be the hands and feet of Jesus, that would love and serve our community with love and grace,” he said.

Moments after Cottonwood Creek Church Sr. Pastor John Mark Caton took the stage, a protester dressed in an orange shirt stood up and began yelling, “What about some gun laws? What about Republicans? Stop the killing!” before being safely escorted out of the church by security.

After the incident, Caton acknowledged the difficulty of trying to provide a “proof text” or a solitary Bible verse that would bring immediate healing and comfort.

He spoke of “living in the in-between” in the here and now, between a fallen world full of violence and suffering and a Kingdom to come, one in which there will be no more pain and suffering.

“I think every one of us longs in our heart for a better place, we long for a better community, we long for better kids, we long for better families,” he said, pointing to humanity’s current path from the first murder in Genesis 4 to the hope of a new Heaven and a new Earth at the end of the book of Revelation.

That, said Caton, is where we should fix our gaze.

“There’ll be no more need for community services, for prayer times together, healing hurts,” he said.

And until then, Caton added, those who call themselves by the name of Christ should do as He taught at the beginning of the Sermon on the Mount, where He proclaimed, “Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.”

“Let’s be people who comfort those who mourn, pray for those who grieve, that bring the oil of joy in the spaces of sadness,” said Caton.

During the earlier Sunday morning services, Caton said students who attend Cottonwood were at the outlet mall when the shooting started, according to The Associated Press.

“Some of our people were there. Some perhaps in this room. Some of our students were working in those stores and will be changed forever by this,” he said.

Ministers and licensed professionals were made available after the services concluded for those who needed prayer and grief counseling.

The shooting Saturday afternoon left eight people dead, including children, and injured seven others. The shooter was killed by an on-duty police officer who happened to be at the mall on an unrelated call.

Citing law enforcement officials, the AP reported authorities have identified the gunman as 33-year-old Mauricio Garcia.

Witnesses at the mall told The Associated Press they saw several victims, including some who seemed to be children. They also reported seeing a police officer and a security guard who appeared to be unconscious on the ground.

At least nine people were hospitalized following the incident, with their ages ranging from 5 to 61, according to a spokesperson for Medical City Healthcare, which operates three trauma facilities treating the victims.

Father, in Jesus’ Name, King of Kings, Lord of Lords, comfort the families of those who died, and I pray full recovery for those who were wounded. Lord, in the name of Jesus I rebuke the demonic spirits behind those who would choose to kill as this man has done in Allen, Texas. Lord, deliver every state, city, and place in America, and across the world from the powers of darkness. Send Your protection to hover over your entire Creation. Come, Lord Jesus. Amen

God as tears fall for these families: “Nothing in life can prepare us for the death of a loved one. Whether death results from a sudden accident or a sustained illness, it always catches us off-guard. Death is so deeply personal and stunningly final; nothing can emotionally prepare us for its arrival. With every death, there is a loss. And with every loss, there will be grief.” Father God be with all families who are going through the pain of loss of loved ones. God will heal you and remove pain, as you focus on the good memories. God knows about Pain. I call down prayers from heaven to bring The Holy Spirit so His presence will be felt and with it comes comfort. God says to each family “ come to me, all who are heaven laden.” Jesus touch these families as they try to get through these next few weeks. “Psalm 147:3 – He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. This is what our Father does: He Heals! We thank you Father God for always being there for us. Psalms 91:14 “ 14 “Because he[b] loves me,” says the Lord, “I will rescue him;“ God cares about his children. 🙏🙏🙏🙏💕😊🤗💯❤️❤️❤️

LORD 👑, I thank You for Your promises of comfort to all who mourn, and the Great promise of Your Return to set up the Kingdom of God that will end all this evil. HalleluYah! Please send Your Loving heart of peace and comfort to these in Allen, Texas, and make us more understanding of eternity and how fleeting our lives are here on this planet, this Earth threat reveals the Glory of God. “The Earth is the Lord’s, and the fullness of it.”. Glorify Your Name in this Earth, and bring Your Kingdom, and Your Will, even as it is in Heaven. Write Your law of Love on the hearts of Your children, that we would share Your Love, the message of Yeshua, Salvation, to this lost and dying world. God, Abba Father, fill us with Your Holy Spirit, and Love and send us to those around us. Take away fears, and intimidations so we don’t hold back the message of eternal Life in our Messiah. Guns don’t kill people.
Bad people with guns kill people.
Good people with guns protect people and prevent killings.
Guns are NOT the issue – SIN and evil are the issue.
God, touch the hearts of the killers and bring them to You – they NEED You!! We ask for justice with mercy. In Jesus’ name.

Let’s take leading from the letters to the churches in the book of the revelation of our LORD Jesus Christ.
1. Return to the love for Him at the start of our walk of faith
2. In our suffering, remain faithful to the point of death
3. Turn from serving sexual gods.
4. No longer tolerate those teachings that compromise holy living and
Hold tightly what Christ alone has given us.
5. WAKE UP! STRENGTHEN WHAT REMAINS before it dies! We look alive but are not. REMEMBER what we received and heard; OBEY it; TURN from our sin.
6. Keep on persevering in obedience and faithfulness to the name of Jesus.
Look for doors Christ opens.
7. Exert yourselves; get our riches from Jesus; shop in His clothing store; use His cure for our powers of perception; turn from our sins; OPEN UP to Jesus’ knock.
May our ears be open to what the Spirit is saying to us

I am so sick of these incidents always becoming about gun laws! First, I ache for the friends and families that lost loved ones, and then I brace myself for for the protesting.
Why is it so hard for people to recognize that guns don’t shoot by themselves, and that lots of people own guns and have never shot anyone.
People who use guns to murder innocent people are SICK and need help before they resort to shooting others, AND if sick people want to get their hands on a gun, they will find a way, because they are not planning on abiding by the law anyway.
How about some mental health laws?? What is the deeper cause for these random mass shootings? Until we figure that out, no gun law is going to stop this from happening again.
