I Prayed have prayed
God, have mercy on the missionaries kidnapped in Haiti.

A notorious Haitian gang known for brazen kidnappings and killings was accused by police Sunday of abducting 17 missionaries from a U.S.-based organization. Five children were believed to be among those kidnapped.

The 400 Mawozo gang kidnapped the group—which also included some elderly people—in Ganthier, a commune that lies east of the capital of Port-au-Prince, Haitian police inspector Frantz Champagne told The Associated Press. The gang was blamed for kidnapping five priests and two nuns earlier this year in Haiti.

The gang, whose name roughly translates to 400 “inexperienced men,” controls the Croix-des-Bouquets area that includes Ganthier, where they carry out kidnappings and carjackings and extort business owners, according to authorities.

Ohio-based Christian Aid Ministries said the kidnapped group consisted of 16 U.S. citizens and one Canadian, for a total of five children, seven women, and five men. The organization said they were on a trip to visit an orphanage.

“Join us in praying for those who are being held hostage, the kidnappers and the families, friends and churches of those affected,” Christian Aid Ministries said in a statement. “As an organization, we commit this situation to God and trust Him to see us through.” . . .

A protest is scheduled for Monday to decry the nation’s lack of security.

“Political turmoil, the surge in gang violence, deteriorating socioeconomic conditions—including food insecurity and malnutrition—all contribute to the worsening of the humanitarian situation,” BINUH said in its report. “An overstretched and under-resourced police force alone cannot address the security ills of Haiti.”

On Friday, the U.N. Security Council voted unanimously to extend the U.N. political mission in Haiti.

The kidnapping of the missionaries comes just days after high-level U.S. officials visited Haiti and promised more resources for Haiti’s National Police, including another $15 million to help reduce gang violence, which this year has displaced thousands of Haitians who now live in temporary shelters in increasingly unhygienic conditions.

Among those who met with Haiti’s police chief was Uzra Zeya, U.S. undersecretary of state for civilian security, democracy, and human rights.

“Dismantling violent gangs is vital to Haitian stability and citizen security,” she recently tweeted.

Amen Steve, Lydia and Susan! I stand in agreement with your thoughtful, powerful, effective, spirit-filled prayers for Haiti. “Truly I tell you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven. Again, truly I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything they ask for, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven. For where two or three gather in my name there am I with them.” Matthew 18:18-20
In the name of Jesus we bind up the devil and his ways to steal, kill, and destroy in and through the lives of these “400 inexperienced men.” In the name of Jesus we loose the power of the Holy Spirit to exchange hearts of stone for hearts of flesh in these 400 men, bringing about an experience of transformation that brings about Godly sorrow, which leads to repentance, which leads to times of refreshing renewal for these 400 men, their families, their neighborhood, their city, their country, their government, and these 17 faithful, Jesus-strong and courageous missionaries. In the name of Jesus, we pray that the testimonies from this miraculous work of God will set aflame a movement of the gospel to spread rapidly and be honored in the hearts of all who hear it throughout the country of Haiti, the United States, and Canada, and around the world.

Dear Father God! We cry out to You on behalf of these people who are in peril! And on behalf of all of Your saints who are in similar situations, Father please cause their oppressors to either let them free or to be kind to them, not to be harsh and evil, and to turn to You and be saved!

God, we pray You’d intervene and give these missionaries all they need to survive and be released. We pray for food, medical supplies they need, beds, clean water and safe, clean places to sleep and use the bathroom and bathe themselves. Show them You are with them by the way You intervene and give them favor with their captors. Bind them in unity and help them support and encourage each other. Give each person a testimony of how You provided and protected them. Give them grace and comfort. Show them how to minister to their captors and make a way for them to be rescued and/or released. I pray this would not go on long, but that you would cut short the days of their captivity. Give wisdom to those who are trying to secure their release. I pray this would be done quickly. Break through the corruption and make a new way to bring a good government and police into Haiti. Use Your church to stand up and live holy lives so You can anoint them to take their land. Cause Your church to rise up out of the corruption and I pray they would repent of the voodoo they have practiced. Use the bad conditions to bring the church into a place of holiness so they can transform their nation for You. Show them how to use the Bible to disciple their nation. Show them how to impact every sphere of society with the Word of God and holy living. Cause Haiti to rise up our of the corruption and lawlessness into a nation that honors You, keeps Your law, and has order and peace. Transform this nation. Show these kidnapped Christians how to pray for Haiti and for their captors. Raise up a new president and raise up a new government that will honor You and stand for righteousness and justice. Show them how to train their police to be victorious over evil. Show the church how to stand for righteousness and how to transform their nation for You. Give the church hope and a vision of what You want their nation to look like and behave like. Bring in a righteous government, righteous business, righteous education, and creativity in entertainment. Show them how to turn their nation to You and to turn their nation around.

Susan, I agree whole heartily with your prayer, yea and AMEN!
My niece is also in Haiti as an “American Missionary”, so I am diligently praying for the safety of all the missionaries. I was in Haiti 3 different times and my heart aches for the redemption of Jesus to be experienced in Haiti.
I pray there will be “break though” and the power of the Gangs be broken, May other countries intervene. It is time for redemption, Haitians have seen enough!

Heavenly Father I pray for your sovereign protection of these missionaries.May they experience your peace in the midst of this situation. I also pray these “inexperienced men” may have a life-altering experience through an encounter with You,that they may rely on You for their sustenance and security. To You be the glory! Amen
