Vaccine manufacturer Merck has abandoned the development of two coronavirus vaccines, saying that after extensive research it was concluded that the shots offered less protection than just contracting the virus itself and developing antibodies.
The company announced that the shots V590 and V591 were ‘well tolerated’ by test patients, however they generated an ‘inferior’ immune system response in comparison with natural infection.
The company stated that instead it will focus on research into therapeutic drugs labeled as MK-7110 and MK-4482. . . .
“Interim results from a Phase 3 study showed a greater than 50 percent reduction in the risk of death or respiratory failure in patients hospitalized with moderate to severe COVID-19,” the company’s statement noted of the MK-7110 drug. . . .
Meanwhile, in related news, German scientists have claimed that the UK Oxford/AstraZeneca vaccine is less than 8% effective in over 65s, prompting the vaccine developers to hit back, rubbishing the claims. . . .
UK government ministers have suggested that the claim could be related to the ongoing dispute over delivery of the vaccine between the European Union and AstraZeneca.
The EU, which is yet to approve the vaccine, has threatened to block exports of shots to Britain, in a move that has been branded ‘spiteful’ by British government sources.
In an effort to make sure its member states get their ‘fair share’ of vaccines, the EU has also threatened to block the delivery of Pfizer vaccines to the UK, demanding that drug companies provide detailed information on when they plan to export Covid jabs to countries outside the bloc. . . .

Praise God for some honest research. This is what I what I said to my middle school health class Jan 2020. Thousands of variations of viruses that we shed and live with everyday. God gave us immune systems and we need to support them. I choose to worship the One true God of Israel rather than the worlds god of Pan.
May God bless you for teaching the truth to your students. I pray God will continue to use you and other teachers to teach the truth in all matters from science to history.
There are just too many pros and cons concerning the vaccine. It’s hard to know what to believe. My husband and I are going to wait on the vaccine to see what affects people have later on. Praying it won’t be mandated for travel.

I’m wondering why the link to the “German scientists have claimed” phrase goes to a Politico article that does not reference anything about German scientists’ finding about the ineffectiveness of the Astra Zeneca vaccination? Is it a faulty link (obviously), or do you have a better one available that backs up this claim? I’m a source-checker. That’s the only way to really know the credibility of statements made.
I appreciate Merck’s decision! It is so hard for, many people, to know what to believe about any of this! I will not take this vaccine but my parents have taken their first shots (82 and won’t listen to me) and my son, a brilliant doctor and surgeon took it. I pray daily for them and hope God will protect them from any serious side effects in the future!!! I wish more people would listen to both sides and pray before making this huge decision!! I like the credentials of this Doctor so am posting her interview below. There are many physicians who feel the same but many who have no clue, believe it’s safe or just don’t care!! I agree with MERCK on this.. Two coworkers I work around did get the COVID-19 virus this October, and I also fell ill myself but didnt get tested as they did. They were out of work for two weeks. One of them has kidney disease and the other has a weakened immune system from having Leukemia years ago. They are in their 50’s. They recovered at home after with perscriptions from their doctors and supplements/ good nutrition.
They are doing wonderfully now and back to work. Having contracted the virus, they were told that they have a natural immunity to it for about 3 months. With those who are suffering side effects to this virus, many are having strong allergic reactions because their immune systems are on super defense to what is being injected into their bloodstream. Not everyone does, but many do.
That would definitely be me as I tend to have allergic reactions to anything foreign. Also, whenever I do get any kind of vaccine, I seem to actually GET that particular flu anyway., I don’t want to play around with introducing a COVID strain into my body to see what will happen. I’d rather wear my masks everywhere , washing my hands , keeping a healthy distance from others and being mindful of nutrition and lifestyle choices that will keep my immune system strong enough to resist any sort of pathogen around me.
I’ve heard their immunity may last much longer — some are still immune eight months after having Covid. It hasn’t been around long enough for anyone to say there is even an end to their immunity.
I believe Merck is right on. When you contract a virus and allow it to run its’ course, it seems the body has an incredible system for attacking the virus and giving you the natural antibodies to fight the disease. When humans do not take care of themselves thru exercise and eating right and getting off sugar, they are very susceptible to any virus.
Before any chemicals and Drs. there should be bathing in prayer for Gods’ healing hand. I remember in the Bible someone consulted Drs. before prayer and they became very sick. Jesus is the great physician. I’m not against Drs., I just believe prayer is first and allow the Lord to work.
Hello, I just wanted to clarify that Merck is not suggesting that vaccines, in general, should be abandoned in favor of contracting covid 19 and developing natural immunity. They are only referring to 2 specific vaccines that were abandoned due to unimpressive efficacy. The vaccines being used now in the U.S. have been demonstrated safe and extremely effective at preventing hospitalization and death from covid. Once we get 70-80% vaccinated as a population we reach herd immunity, and a welcome return to freedom. Stay well!
Other vaccines are safe and working. I’ve had both injections with no side effects. I an 70 years old.
Last February, before a vaccine was in the works and c19 was just showing up, I had a dream.
In it, I was traveling in a bus in a land not my own.
Suddenly the bus was off it’s course, headed towards a hospital where everyone, by gov’t mandate was required to receive some sort of shot.
At that moment I awoke, and the words came to me so STRONGLY IN MY FACE that I instinctively backed up into my pillow, ‘DON”T TAKE THE VACCINE’.
Perhaps this will resonate with some of you.
I know I have had some allergic reactions to different drugs. I don’t know if that is the reason The Holy Spirit warned me.
I had a similar dream in March/April.. I was just inside what was my daughter’s school.. we homeschool now. Anyway, they were in the process of lining everyone up for a shot. I kept asking, what about the ones with medical exemptions??? And they were saying, nope.. everyone.
Until then, I had been debating fully homeschooling my daughter, as we already had my son and stepson at home. I took that as my warning to pull her from public school altogether . So I did.
One of my daughter’s friends has had Corona twice and came through both times without serious problems. That she had it a second time tells me that she did not build antibodies to it the first time. That being said, She will not take the vaccine, nor will I. I asked my internist about it and he advised me against getting the shot(s). I am in my late 70s, have asthma and CLL (a form of leukemia). My general health is good. I worked as an RN for 45 years before retiring, and I just don’t think enough research, with controlled studies, has been done. This “vaccine” production was a rush job by people desperate to put an end to the spread of the virus. The motive may have been OK, but scientific method and protocol, which has always taken years to develop a product, was overlooked this time. I’m not trusting the time line of its production and therefore its effectiveness.
Perhaps what worries me more than the science of it is the leaning toward making it mandatory for everyone to get this, by putting limits on where we go, who we spend time with, etc. Of course we should be cautious and thoughtful of our neighbors and friends, but government oversight of every detail of our lives is not what the United States is supposed to be about. It is not our government’s job to force us into their idea of how we should manage our own healthcare. Our representatives (congressmen/senators) are just that: representatives, not dictators. The rush to change policies and force us to do their bidding should set off alarms in our sensibilities.
If you choose to take the “vaccine,” good for you. That’s your right. However, if you choose NOT to take it, good for you, too. THAT’S your right, as well. If our right to choose is taken from us by our government, we are headed for big trouble and a loss of our republic. God bless us, God help us, God protect us.

It would seem that drug companies differ in their research. Merck’s take on the vaccine is very interesting. I will wait and see what is proven to be the truth in fighting the vaccine. I do not trust the numbers of deaths and cases of infection yet.

I agree with her but i was told that the hospitals and doctors get more money if they register it as a “covid case”. Hence u see a rise in covid but actually people are dying of other diseases.
Also i was told seniors should not take this vaccines.
Lord we pray for wisdom & protection for all those who were forced to take it. Protect them by the Blood of Jesus. Lord You are the God of creativity. Could You, Holy Spirit, download the solution to this problem. Nothing is hidden from You.

I believe let covid run its toll, its not a vaccine by the definition or properties, they stopped the old test on lab animals due to its faliure
Even if the vaccines were all someday proven to be safe and effective in and of themselves, my family still would not take them. I believe them to be a Trojan horse that is leading us to the next phase of globalist control. A few points to consider:
1) “15 days to flatten the curve” back in mid-March 2020 has turned into over 310 days and counting. The goal posts keep moving (or at least what we’re being told seems to keep moving, but I believe it’s playing out exactly as planned).
2) Look at what you’ve gotten used to in just 10 months…masks everywhere, contact tracing, “free money” from the government, ambiguous rules to follow (like 6 ft distancing, which is about as ridiculous as it gets regarding “droplet” transmission of virus particles that are so small, it takes 25,400 lined up to equal 1 inch), “new normal” talk.
3) “Optional” vaccines that are on the fast track to becoming mandatory in order to keep your job, shop at a store, go to a concert, or fly on a plane. The company I work for is now forcing all employees who have to be in the office to wear proximity sensing and contact tracing badges (passive RFID technology). They keep an electronic database of everyone you’ve been in contact with and how close. Look up “Radiant RFID” and Samsung wearable contact tracing technology for an example. And guess what the location accuracy range of this technology is? The 6ft narrative they’ve been pushing was no coincidence in my mind. My days are probably limited at the company, because when they bring my group back I will NOT wear that.
Also, IBM,Oracle,and others are developing digital vaccine passports that will “clear” you to participate in society. This, ladies and gentlemen, is what I see as the real end-goal of all of this. So no, I will not receive or in any way promote, facilitate, or passively allow this to happen while I’m still standing.

Having just read the referenced article and others besides, it turns out the Merck did state that immune responses produced by their vaccine were inferior to those produced by Pfizer/BioNTech and Moderna, as well as to those “in patients who have recovered from COVID-19 infections.” (Jim Crumly, TMFSpeyside) In no way did Merck suggest that it would be better to contract the coronavirus and recover than to be vaccinated. The headline here is misleading, and I suspect, designed to get a rise out of people.
I applaud their taking a stand, looking out for the best all around. long term solution to this virus. Rather than bowing to the big corporations,
the lying media, and pressure from many other fronts, they chose the high road of looking out for the best interest of the people. Not a common thing these days in “modern medicine”. They certainly need our prayers.

We know it is not a typical vaccine as it’s had the usual safety protocols eliminated. By the power and the Blood of Jesus, I pray protection from any destructive forces at work in the cells and various organs throughout the body from now and throughout their lives. May You supernaturally bring perfect health to them and what the enemy intended for bad, we declare good by the power of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Some people are taking Quercetin, Zinc, D3, C as a preventative. I’ve been taking these since April and added NAC, colostrum with lactoferrin, melatonin and famotidine in July. Seems to me that so many of the people who are dying may have other causes besides the virus! We all have so many different diets and many may not be healthy! I have wondered about all the fast foods that seem to be so popular and are they all healthy? I am an old woman and know I can’t know much about this!!!

The foods that we buy in our grocery stores to make at home to be healthy are also a challenge. Pesticides in the feed of the animals and growth hormones to force their maturity is being ingested by our young children bringing on adolescence much sooner than what once was. Our fruits and vegetables are laced with pesticides and are picked before natural maturity – before nutrition and flavor can develop and then radiated to force a ripe color appearance on the outside where the radiation touches which is why broccoli is so white with a little green and tomatoes are beautifully red outside and hard inside.
I used to work at McDonald’s. There weren’t enough workers so they’d come to work with a fever. Food like the pies stayed out a long time. Any drive up window lets flies and ants in. Fast food is nutritionally challenged to boot!

Well, duh! I have never taken a flu shot, to build up my body’s immunity system. Nor will I take this vaccine. I rarely get viruses. Thank You, Father.
I agree, I’m 78, got the virus and was moderately ill, like a bad cold, but recovered. My 86 year old husband tested negative even though I did not isolate. I know others who had multiple health problems who got it and have recovered. I am aware that some young healthy people have died, but the percent is low.
I believe Merck Has made the right decision! Therapeutics do take care of this virus. It is known that there are drugs called Lisosomatropic agents, such as Hydroxychloroquin and Ivermectin that are highly effective against Covid 19 and all viruses! If there are ways to cure COVID-19, there is not a necessity for a vaccine! In the past, vaccines were only develop for things that could not be cured, like polio for instance.
The pharmaceutical companies should be focusing on therapeutics! The drugs I mentioned are inexpensive and highly available!
I hope people understand that what Merck said was that THEIR vaccine was not very effective and not that others weren’t either. Here is a quote from their website, “This decision follows Merck’s review of findings from Phase 1 clinical studies for the vaccines. In these studies, both V590 and V591 were generally well tolerated, but the immune responses were inferior to those seen following natural infection and those reported for other SARS-CoV-2/COVID-19 vaccines.”
So other vaccines may well be effective, and Merck was not saying that people should not take those. It was their own vaccine candidate that didn’t work out, so they have stopped further development efforts of their vaccine.
I’m not sure that folks are understanding what you’re saying. The ALL CAPS headline published by this site focused on only part of Merck’s press release. Disappointing journalism by this site.
wow what a concept, a drug company telling the truth! Your God given natural immune system (if it is kept strong) is the absolute best way to fight off this virus, or any virus for that matter. Same here. Not needed a flu shot in years…never had the flu and I try to eat healthy. Real probiotics boost our immune system also. Raw cheese (aged 60+ days),raw kefir or yogurt, raw cultured vegetables (korean kimchi), raw kombucha. It works I promise.

I did a quick demographic study of my state – just on death rates. We had more deaths in 2018 than in 2020. But all those numbers because the data bases were amazingly changed all the real data went away – ha. That way the CDC or DHEC can add one, two or three zeros to the death rate – it’s happening.
The U.S. government has been “adjusting” numbers for quite awhile.
exactly you can find the info posted on CDC website last summer that indicates 94% of all the “corona” virus deaths had 2-3 other co-morbidities (sp) so only 6% of their padded number died ONLY of corona , so even with the padded death numbers the recovery rate is till about 99.5 %

God gave us an immune system. USA Today announces Merck’s failure at a vaccine. They also don’t emphasize that the vaccine would never be as efficient as a person’s God-given immunity.
My entire family has had this virus and some are compromised. We all came out of it just fine. Some had symptoms, some had none at all. Several, including my 83 year old father in law were exposed and did not get it at all. We choose to trust Christ for our healing and our time on this earth. I’m just sharing some hope here. There is so much fear out there and not many stories of healing being shared. I have met or know over 30 people who have had this and some were over 65 and some had big risk factors and they all made it through. Please share the good news. Fear is the opposite of faith.
I have to respectfully disagree with you, Lisa. I am not sure all of the scientists are using their intelligence for the good of mankind. God also gives us discernment, if we ask him for it. While not ignoring the fact….some people can get very sick…even to the point of death which is tragic to say the least…I welcome your right to choose the vaccine and would ask the same of you for those who choose not to get it. I choose to ask God to give me the wisdom/knowledge for myself to be able to keep my immune system healthy even in spite of immune compromises and age 71. He has been faithful to do that. I believe should I get a virus of any kind I can get through it and still thrive. In fact I have even having had exposure to those who have it. I am trusting God not science even, if at times, I am grateful for scientists…those who truly have a heart to heal and be a part of health providing. I think it is unwise to forbid healthy people to live their lives in the open…makes more sense to shelter those who are fearful or sick rather than the majority who can keep working and living as we are intended to.
I have faith but can also be cautious at the same time. What you are doing is calling our smart scientist that are creating these vaccines demon. That is not having a good Christian attitude. God gave these medical scientist the smarts to create these vaccines. I follow the science, not crazy people like you. I know people that have had this virus and saw how it affected them. We do have the freedom to choose to have it or not to have the vaccine. I choose to. It is the anti vaccine people that are bringing diseases back that used to be no longer here. Try getting on a airplane or ship without that vaccine.
There is a 99% recovery rate from covid. Those of us who decide against vaccines, wether this one or others that doctors choose to push, have reasons for standing against them. Most of them contain fetal tissue. That is the primary reason we stand against them. At least Merck is honest in their decision. I applaud them.
When one gets their head out of the sand and ‘listens/considers’ the TRUE scientific studies about this dangerously fast tracked vaccine, one may be open-minded to reason based on scientific studies. More and more scientists/medical experts are refusing to take the vaccine themselves and certainly not giving it to their families. ONE MUST DO THE HOMEWORK. God gave us the option of ‘listening to and trusting HIM for good health. God never intended man to inject poison into our bodies. As the saying goes, BEWARE: ENTER AT YOUR OWN RISK. The virus was man-made….biological warfare whether or not one chooses to see truth. In addition, if the populous chooses to succumb to the dangerous vaccine they so strongly believe/trust in, then why would one be concerned about those who choose not to succumb to fear tactics and submit to very dangerous untried, well tested vaccines?

An answer to prayer.
Praise God they canceled it and this truth came out. And the answer is very simple on what to do regarding the COVID vaccines and all vaccines. Not take them.
Every single COVID vaccine was either grown in or tested in fetal cells from aborted (murdered) babies. So every Christian has their answer right there regarding rejecting the COVID vaccine. Most if not ALL vaccines are grown and/or tested in the cells of babies mercilessly murdered. If I recall correctly, the rubella vaccine, now part of the MMR vaccine was grown in the fetal cells of a baby from a forced abortion of a mental patient. And this is what they inject into our children. God’s blessing is NOT on this.
And the COVID vaccines should NOT even be legally allowed to be referred to as vaccines. They are MRNA injections, thus GENE THERAPY shots. They were not made with affecting immunity in mind but to inject whatever abomination they came up with to enter into people’s cells and alter them in a way that is supposed to affect or lessen symptoms. Frightening and wicked stuff.
Merk was the only vaccine that did not use mRNA. Though none of the vaccines should be forced on anyone, it was option for family members who might have to have the shot for their job. mRNA is a scary new addition to vaccines. I can’t help but see evil in it.
It is indeed sinister intent. This has NOTHING to do with public health. One only needs to do a little bit of research behind those who have funded these vaccines to understand the true intentions behind these shots, which are NOT actually vaccines. I think the canceling of these vaccines is an answer to prayer. Nothing about the virus and this proposed cure is in anyway natural. No previous coronavirus vaccines have been able to be developed because of the side effects and so we should not expect anything different this time.

Vickie, thank you for posting which prompted me to research the connections to fetal cells. Because we are often criticized by the secular, we need to be careful in the wording of our objections to the vaccine. Neither the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines contain aborted cells. But, fetal cells from the HEK293 (cells descended from tissue taken from a 1973 abortion) were used to ensure the vaccines work. So, a more accurate objection to one of these vaccines would be that one doesn’t support vaccines whose manufacturers used cells grown from an aborted fetus to test its effectiveness.

Dear IFA intercessors, I am 75 years young. I am very healthy and take no medications except HRT (Hormone replacement therapy. I was not going to take the vaccine for several reasons, like many of you. Then, I thought I’d better ask my husband what he would like for me to do. He said he would feel better if I took it. Neither of us were ill with the virus this year, nor with any other flu-like symptom.
Upon reading this article, I am now not sure what to do. I have an appointment in late February. Would you please pray about this for me? If anyone has any words of wisdom, I could sure use them.

Will pray for you, but I want to encourage you to do some research for yourself. I, myself, had Covid a few months ago. I will not be taking the vaccine, but would not even without having the virus. I do work in health care, in a hospital as well, just to give you some of my background. When you do your research, be sure to find info on previous attempts to produce a corona vaccine, as was done for SARS, and MERS corona virus’ that used the MRNA in the vaccines. Also go look at The Frontline Doctors website and Dr Mercola’s site. In the meantime, maybe get your Vit D level checked, by a simple blood test and if it is low start taking more Vit D and even Vit C, and Zinc. Pray that the Lord will give you the wisdom to do what is best for you.

It’s no wonder I was so adamant about not taking the vaccine. It was Holy Spirit. My husband has ADD. He is willing to cancel, but is still thinking about it. He has set me free to cancel my appointment, which I will do. The word “experimental” along with alarming neuro-diseases (MS runs in my family) tells me the answer is still “NO!” God bless you for leading us to valuable Truth.

I am praying for both you and hubby to go to the Lord together….James 1 says if we lack wisdom He will give it to us when we ask Him for it. He doesn’t think any less of us for the lack…in fact He wants us to ask HIM. He promises to answer. You (we) must however trust Him…believe Him. I am thankful that Merk is being honest. Honesty in the Pharmaceutical industry has been sorely lacking since the US government removed liability related to vaccines. By the grace of God, this will be a new trend in the makers of vaccines.

I do believe that pharmaceuticals have their place in this world but I am almost 80 years old and I have contracted and lived through innumerable VIRUSES without them. I think Merck has the right idea. They are a company that has been at the forefront in medicine and they know what they are doing by providing us with help as our bodies fight the residuals of this virus.
My husband and I both have recently recovered from COVID19. Praise Jesus it was no worse than a cold/flu. No fun for a couple weeks me, and a week or less my husband, but no worse than the case of bronchitits I has that lasted for months. We are both in our sixties. My husband has Diabetsis and is 65. I’m 62 and have dealt with immune issues for decades. We are fine now. No medical care given. Most people I know who get it have mild to moderate symptoms. My sisterinlaw, close to 70, overweight got it and ended up in the hospital for a month for breathing issues and weakness. Her husband, same age, not overweight, had a mild cold. I heard a doctor say his overweight patients with other issues did not usually survive COVID19. I knew one young man 30, who was a professional body builder (that can be unhealthy), he got it bad and ended up in the hospital, but is now fine. Everyone else so far that I have known who had it was sick for a few days and then recovered including one of my sons who him and friends actually lost their smell and taste for a month and were tired. My daughter’s fiance has it but he had mild lung issues but is doing fine so far. They are both quanrantined. I believe that a virus that only kills 1% of its victims should in no way be causing all of this pandemic hysteria. I believe it is fueld for sinister reasons. I do not take vaccines. I simply trust God and to be blunt. I’m glad I got the virus t hen and now have antibodies. I will not put a virus cell that comes from aborted baby cells into God’s body. I believe that is sin and anything not done in faith is sin. Those of us who know scripture know the plans of the enemy. Healthy people have died from this virus. There are people whose organs and brain have been damaged or has been effected from having this virus. Just because you have had it once does not mean you can’t get it again. I much rather get a vaccine that is 95% effective than to take the chance of getting this or spreading it to a family member and they get sick and die.
And we are thankful that right now people have the choice to do what their conscience, beliefs and situation leads them to decide. Corona Virus ia a Flu. The flu comes around every year….hence people getting their yearly flu shots (which I don’t!) and hence Fauci saying we can get CoVid again. The flu virus mutates until the next flu season and a new flu shot (vaccine) is concocted hopefully to stop the suspected virus strain.
The flu has historically had victims each year, 100,000 or more, we have just never had the news of it played over and over on the TV creating Fear to the point of suicides! And, we have never had “trusted” organization and officials looking for any death to add to the CoVid count.
The flu does not cause organ damage or brain damage. When you have the flu, it may only be a week or less. With this virus it can take months to recover. NOT THE SAME
You get to decide for yourself as we all should be able to do. I hope we are all praying/asking for direction from the Lord regardless of our decision.
I believe that everyone one has to do their own research and prayerfully decide for themselves. I have family members who can’t wait to take the vaccine and I am in the camp of not taking it. It is an individual decision. I won’t judge those taking it. I choose not to take it.

I praise God for Merck’s forthcoming honesty in this fear driven society. There are medications to help relieve patients of covid. It seems the ventilators are the demons working against this illness. If we pray, live and eat healthfully and use common sense in regard to hygiene, it will go away like flu season, eventually.
