Pray for Defense Sec. James Mattis and his staff as they decide this week whether to let transgender persons to serve in the military. Pray for God’s wisdom and God’s will to be done.
“Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.” (Mt 6:10)
Defense Secretary James Mattis is facing his first significant decision in the military’s sexual revolution legacy left by the last commander in chief, Barack Obama.
Mr. Obama’s defense secretary, Ashton Carter, issued a directive last year permitting transgender troops to remain in the military and undergo sex reassignment procedures instead of facing automatic discharge.
The next step in the transgender agenda is due July 1, according to Mr. Carter’s timeline. Mr. Mattis is to decide whether the armed forces will allow transgender people to join the military.
Deputy Defense Secretary Robert O. Work, an Obama holdover, required each service to submit plans for how they will open the ranks to transgender recruits. Those road maps are now in, leaving the next move up to Mr. Mattis, a retired Marine Corps four-star general who in the past has complained about the Pentagon’s intense focus on social issues….
Social conservatives have mounted a campaign to persuade Mr. Mattis to suspend the Carter transgender directive with the ultimate goal of recalling it and all of the associated manuals.
“The policies adopted require our Armed Forces to officially assume the risks of recruiting and retaining persons who are suffering with a condition requiring long-term medical and perhaps, surgical treatment, with uncertain results often associated with higher rates of depression and suicide,” said a statement from the Conservative Action Project. “The accommodation of such individuals in the military indicates that the U.S. Department of Defense will bear the cost of hormone treatments, surgery, and post-operative care to facilitate ‘gender transitioning.’”
Nearly 100 conservative activists signed the statement headlined, “Restoring America’s Military Strength.” They said the Carter order requires commanders to “master the nuances of a complex psycho-sexual medical sub-specialty, and initiate or approve procedures for which they have no formal training.”
Signatories included retired Army Lt. General William Boykin, Family Research Council President Tony Perkins and Elaine Donnelly, who runs the Center for Military Readiness….

Mattis as he seeks wisdom amidst angry and hostile people who simply don’t know or accept You as Final Authority on any subject, much less one of gender. Thank you as you surround him with people upholding him in prayer and like-mindedness. Psalm 34:8
It is hard to believe that anyone who can’t make up their mind what gender God made them, can easily make up their mind to pull the trigger if needed in a tense moment. Knowing who they are, Whose they are and what they are willing to die for, seems to be a bottom line belief to belong in a service that requires self knowledge and dedication to a cause. I pray that God’s wisdom prevails, not the wish to be politically correct, in such a life-threatening duty.
The military budget has been pared to the bone, leaving our military forces without adequate resources to defend our country should a crisis arise, definitely not enough resources to effectively mount offensives on more than one front. Our military families often live in substandard housing and rely on food stamps to feed their children. The very last thing our military forces needs is an unnecessary drain on its resources. It is not the country’s place to finance the huge financial expenses for mental and physical support for transgender. If a person feels a need to switch sexual orientations he/she should pay for that switch him/herself, including the ongoing mental rehab he/she will require. The military is still having trouble wrapping its mind around supporting heterosexual vets with ptsd, etc., and providing for its members families. No way is it prepared to take on the role of psychiatrist and surgeon for people who, by definition aren’t well grounded in their own reality. Another fear is that passing regulations welcoming transgender into the military will entice transgender to join for the sole purpose of having the military pay for their trans issues….physical, mental, and emotional. And how can a person whose very self-identity is in flux devote him/herself entirely to defending our country. So many layers of WRONG here!
Of course, the left has dictatorially refused, sometimes in law, to allow those with issues to seek counseling that is Biblically- based, even if they want it. That is against true freedom. But that is not the greatest danger. The greatest danger is changing an entire generation’s sexual mores to ruin the basic hetero stance of most.
Oh Lord give Mattis the mind of Christ. Let him speak Your Words Lord, which up hold both truth and grace. Lord, please help the sexual integrity of our troops, uphold the Biblical sexual mandate and put a hedge of protection around our youth,removing the lies of the enemy. Do not allow the spirit of sexual exploitation and rape that existed in the military in Rome, Greece, Napoleonic France, Germany after WWI in the Freikorps & Brownshirts to gather a further foothold in the US military. Come in Lord with Your Godliness, protect and inform our youth and our leaders, In Jesus Amen

Father, I thank You that You are a Holy God. I thank You that Your Word is clear. I pray for a simple answer for Mr. Mattis in that our government will not take on these people until they decide who they are going to be. Show him that it is not the governments (therefore the tax payers) job to pay for a soldiers medical care; except in case of disease or injury during their time of service. Or as a veteran who has served honorably. Make it clear, Lord, that sex change, like abortion is not health care but is a choice no different than if a person wants a face lift. Father show these people that even though You give them free will to do the wrong thing, if they must, that they will not make those who oppose their decision to pay for it; which is their goal.
Father God you are above all and in all things. For it is by you and for you and through you all things were created and it is by your divine will that we are created male and female. I pray that your hand of justice be on our military and that General Mattis will uphold what you have established. Please stop this madness Lord and lead us not into temptation. Forgive us of our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. We know that the transgender agenda is nothing more than another evil attempt to steal kill and destroy the blessings of creation and wreck discontentment within the hearts of so many. Hear us oh Lord our cry. We need your holiness, your righteousness in the matter. Please disallow anyone who practices and encourages this type of thinking into our military ranks. Strengthen our forces under the banner of Jesus Christ and may we march on, trampling out the vintage where the grapes of wrath are stored with purpose and resolve for reasonableness and thoughtfulness of your will being accomplished. We ask Father for your forgiveness and that You would draw Your children back to You in obedience and trust. We lift General Mattis and his staff as they make the decision about the transgender issue in the military knowing that this We pray that You would give General Mattis and his staff Your divine wisdom and Your Words for this decision and that it would bring You all the glory. Putting women in with the men was to make our military weaker. Transgender – God made them in and out a man or woman and can’t change that part of anyone. Physical changes don’t cancel inner workings. How did God choose those to go conqueror -chose 300 men out of MANY and He was with them, only way one wins. The rest proved not to be as reliable. For one thing they did in the simple testing. Now we know men would be looking out for the women and maybe other ways involved which would make them all unreliable, for their own protection and protection of others. Yes, men look out for one another too, but this other way weakens our military. WWJD…? Women have many ways to serve that are just as important for our military.
How to Pray for The Lord’s will:
The LORD’s will is simple: God Almighty will not interfere with your free will, so if you don’t want to find The Eternal Lords’ will and pray it nothing will happen, except what has already been taking place. Jesus relies on the church to find His will and pray it, so if your will is to become apathetic, and instead of finding God Almighty’s will, and praying it into existence, you throw it back on Jesus, and say, you your will be done, or in other words, find someone else to find out your will and pray it into the earth. Then nothing happens.
You get to know Jesus, and find out what he wants, and they you pray or declare it into existence. If the Eternal Lord was simply going to do His will, then everyone would be saved, & he wouldn’t need you to pray and discover His will, “which is that all men get saved and come to the knowledge of Jesus.” God Almighty doesn’t even hear unbelief. God Almighty only answers Faith not wishing, so if you have no faith to decree His desires on the earth, please don’t waste other people’s time by not knowing what to do, because if you won’t pray His will into the earth, then Jesus is able to find a believer who will. If Moses prayed with unbelief for Israel, when God Almighty was going to destroy it, then it wouldn’t exist today, but fortunately for Israel, Moses knew the ways of God Almighty and prayed their salvation into existence saving the Israelis.
Abba Father,
We come to you in the name of Your beloved Son Jesus Christ. LORD we need Your Mighty Hand to help us against those who are seeking to turn the hearts of the people in this nation away from You. O Righteous Father, hear the cry of Your people, be our Defender against the ungodliness prospering in this land. Father, forgive Your people for remaining quiet and doing nothing. Give them boldness and confidence to proclaim Your Word. Thank you, our Mighty King, for the help, You will bring us. We seek shelter under Your wings in our time of trouble. Give the leaders of this land wisdom to set the oppressed free, and to help the needy in the land. To do justice and righteousness once again. Root out the evil council that surrounds our leaders and replace them with godly council. Remove the wicked from power and let Your light shine once again across this land. Lord, I pray for guidance for our leaders in doing the right thing in regards to our military. It should not be a platform for social experiments. We pray for the men and women who have been deceived and are receiving support for this deceit, They are precious in Your sight, and they need You, Lord. Be with those who are Christians in our military and caught up in this. Give them wisdom in how to shine the Light of Jesus wherever they are.

People of recognized gender (as on a birth certificate) Remove confusion of our militaries purpose. This was just another act from Obama to destroy America. My husband served 25 years in the Marine Corps. When he joined it was a proud place to serve. The last few years before retirement things started going bad. Make the Marine Corps a proud place to serve again.
I believe this issue should be considered not based on physical ability or education, but medically Requiring our government to perform sex change surgeries and medical care and follow up issues (not related to military service or war outcome) reminds me the persons with certain medical diseases tell that they commit crime just so they get free medical care from our prison system.
President Trump has been undoing many of Obamas iladvised dictates, pray he undoes this one!

Praying for the hearts of men to be softened and changed. What would Jesus do? He went about healing and teaching and then went away and prayed to the Father. We need to give time for Holy Spirit to convict and reverse some of these perverse decisions.

As a veteran and wife of a retiree this social engineering is not conducive to good order and discipline of the military. See what happened when women were allowed in combat roles. Sexual assaults etc. the whole thing needs to get back to pre Clinton aye and restore the order and dignity of the armed forces. Obama S on,y focus was to destroy America and hopefully the General knows that and will act accordinginly.
