I Prayed have prayed
Reading Time: < 1 minute

Thank God for the many Christians in Congress, especially the more than 70 members of the Congressional Prayer Caucus, Senators and Representatives committed to serving God and seeking Him. Pray for the spiritual growth of all of the professing Christians.

Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation, now that you have tasted that the Lord is good. (1 Pet. 2:2-3)

“As has been the case in prior Congresses, the 115th Congress is more Christian than the U.S. population as a whole. The vast majority of the nation’s federal lawmakers (91%) describe themselves as Christians, compared with 71% of U.S. adults who say the same, according to a recent Pew Research Center analysis of congressional data compiled by CQ Roll Call.“ (Excerpted from Pew Research Center, Aleksandra Sandstrom reporting.)

“Most citizens are unaware that every week Congress is in session, as votes begin, dozens of congressional Members meet in Room 219 of the Capitol (directly across from the House Chamber) to join together in extended prayer for the country. In 2005, a small group of members of the U.S. House of Representatives gathered to begin praying for our nation to return to its Judeo-Christian principles. Today, these meetings have grown to include more then (sic) 50 members who still meet to pray about important Congressional issues. The Prayer Caucus has been bold in defending religious liberties and public religious expressions, including at the Washington Monument, the Capitol Visitor Center, veterans’ funeral ceremonies, and many other areas where officials had ordered the removal of public acknowledgments of God. With the many attacks on our Godly Congressmen and women it is important to recognize these Godly leaders who boldly stand for truth on the front lines.” (Excerpted from Wallbuilders.)

Holy One, I lift those You have placed in governmental leadershIp positions. I pray that You God keep them strong in faith and with a strong sound mind. Help them worship You in deeds and words not just in their hearts. Help them rise up and shine for You and in Your timing, speak what You have them say. Keep them well rooted in the leadership position as they stand on Your Word to protect, bless, and move on USA behalf. Anoint them for service and keep their family safe, in Jesus name!

Heavenly Father and Lord Jesus, America was founded on Biblical principles and You have chosen to bless this nation for hundreds of years. But many who profess Christ have not really accepted Christ as Lord and Savior. I pray for their hearts that there truly is a reckoning of Truth–that Jesus Christ took the penalty for their sins so that they might enjoy eternity in Heaven with Him. May the realization of an eternal destination cause everyone who professes Christ to really know Christ as Lord and Savior. Because, for those who are saved, You will honor their prayers for America! In Jesus’ Name ~ Amen

Father in the name of Jesus, let those in authority in Congress who profess to be Christian rise up and not be ashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. May they increase in wisdom and knowledge of your Word. May they be receivers of wise counsel and stand up for righteousness in the face of adversity. Let them be examples of Jesus in the Mountain of Government. May Jesus be glorified in this sphere of influence and truth prevail over deception, in Jesus name. We thank you Lord, that you are King of Kings in Congress and salvation is coming to our Government in Jesus name, Amen.

People can say anything, but the Word says “you shall know them by their fruit” (and their love.) Ninety-one percent of federal lawmakers claim to be Christian! Really!?!? Wow. I am thankful for those who truly are and ask You Lord to protect and guide and use them for Your glory in order that Your will may be accomplished America. I ask for a spirit of unity among ALL members of Congress, that they would govern in one accord, that personal agendas would be forgotten, that bipartisan rivalry would be eliminated for the sake of what is right and good and moral. For those who think they are Christians but are sadly deceived, Father open their spiritual eyes to see and know and believe and receive the Truth and gift of salvation so that this inflated statistic will then be accurate and truthful!

Dear Heavenly Father, I thank you for those professing their faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and that they have eternal life. I ask that they not only have the pure milk of your Word but they would go higher and deeper and be partakers of the Meat of the Word and become mature and discerning to another level in their walk. I pray that they would be discerning and well read in the Word of God and be able to know when they are sitting under a spiritual leadership that they are preaching the Gospel according to the truth and the leading of Holy Spirit. Let there be unity in congress among the Christians that they would be of one accord and be wise stewards of their position as well as the knowledge and revelation they incur through their personal relationship with You. Bless them and cover them with Your divine protection, guide them with your right hand and keep them strong and courageous and make them effective and prosperous in their calling to serve You as they serve their country in Jesus name Amen.
