Will Trump’s conviction be overturned in a higher court? Legal experts think it’s possible due to three key flaws in the trial.
From The Washington Times. Former President Donald Trump has three key issues he can argue on appeal to overturn his conviction in his New York hush money trial, including
- [P]rosecutors never identified an underlying felony to the resurrected misdemeanor bookkeeping charges that had lapsed.
- character testimony prejudicial to Mr. Trump and
- prejudicial evidence that the trial judge allowed to be admitted, such as testimony about the infamous “Access Hollywood” tape.
Legal scholars say a defendant’s right to a fair trial and due process is undermined when the specific charge they are facing is not spelled out for them to defend properly.
That was what happened, some experts argue, when Judge Juan Merchan directed jurors that they didn’t need to — under New York law — find the defendant unanimously guilty of committing a felony to resurrect the misdemeanor recordkeeping charges that had expired under the statute of limitations. …
Prosecutors said Mr. Trump used personal attorney Michael Cohen to pay $130,000 to adult film actress Stormy Daniels before the 2016 presidential election because she was shopping a story about an alleged sexual encounter with Mr. Trump in Lake Tahoe in 2006.
Legal scholars say Ms. Daniels’ detailed testimony about the alleged tryst could be viewed as prejudicial because it was unrelated to the business recordkeeping charge at issue in the trial. …
Brian Claypool, a trial lawyer in California, said admitting into evidence testimony about the “Access Hollywood” tape, in which Mr. Trump discusses grabbing women’s body parts without consent, was unrelated to the charges and prejudicial to the defendant.
“This tape had nothing to do with falsifying documents. This was not a sexual assault trial,” he said. …

I pray protection for Donald Trump and his family. The truth shall prevail. I pray the blood of Jesus over Trump and that which the enemy meant for evil God will turn for good for His glory and His purpose. I think Trump has missed an opportunity to state that, “Yes, I was lost;
deep in sin; but God had mercy on me and delivered me from the claws of sin and death
and translated me and my eternal soul from death to life and I live and move and have my
being in Jesus Christ, my Lord and my Savior!” To me, this is the missing link!!!
Our prayers should all be to that end result; nothing else is valid.
I was in tears when I heard that Trump was found guilty on all counts.
My husband said, “Carolyn, don’t worry….remember what happened to Joseph when he was in prison. The Lord elevated him….”
Father God, do for Donald Trump what You did for Joseph, who was also falsely accused. Elevate Donald Trump to a place of victory, to a place of discernment and a stand for righteousness — YOUR righteousness — that his words would be filled with life and love; that his actions would demonstrate Your ways; that he would decree, declare and proclaim LIFE in all things. Renew, restore and refresh his thinking. And Holy Spirit, always remind him that though they plan evil against him, and every manner of mischief, they will not succeed! (Ps. 2:11) AMEN
I think this is just a scam to overthrow the 2024 presidential election. It’s been very unfair to see justice in our country. Turn to evil. I pray the truth comes out. Everything is unveiled for people to see what really did happen. If this could happen to him, what would they do to us?
