IFA intercessors prayed fervently for Justice Amy Coney Barrett during her nomination and confirmation. Her ruling on vaccines is raising many questions. What are you sensing from the Lord? Please share in the comments.
Justice Amy Coney Barrett on Thursday rejected a plea from a group of Indiana University students to stop the university’s requirement that all students be vaccinated against the coronavirus.
Barrett, who received the request because she is the Supreme Court justice tasked with emergency petitions from that region of the country, did not give a reason. It appears she made the decision on her own, as she did not mention referring the matter to the other justices…
In their filing to the Supreme Court, the students claimed a constitutional violation.
“Students are facing IU’s imminent demand that they relinquish their constitutional rights in order to start school this fall,” their application said. It added that the school “is coercing students to give up their rights to bodily integrity, autonomy, and of medical treatment choice in exchange for the discretionary benefit of matriculating at IU.”
They contended the vaccine could be more dangerous to them than the virus.
“The risk of serious morbidity and mortality from COVID for those under 30 is close to zero,” their lawyer, James Bopp, wrote. “The known and unknown risks associated with COVID vaccines, particularly in those under 30, outweigh the risks to that population from the disease itself.”…
The lower courts relied on a Supreme Court precedent from 1905. In Jacobson v. Massachusetts, the court backed a government requirement that people get vaccinated against smallpox or pay a fine…

what about that university students life being threatened by poison,and her constitutional right to be protected,and her God given right to be protected?
you guys did not address “what it means”..that Barrett did not defend the student,but rather upheld the university
Part of the issue of vaccines is the “fear factor”. Since so many lies have been perpetrated by the media and the government-Fauci- there has become confusion of truth and knowledge regarding the danger of Covid. Many people are not certain what to believe and institutional governing bodies tend to err on the side of government money.
The real issue is that American Christians became too complacent and comfortable to be involved in the fight for truth. We allowed vociferous, angry, demonic led people shout us down. We have allowed pursuit of the $, and the newest gadget to interfere with our family time, prayer life and pursuit of holiness. We have not taken the responsibility to visit our children’s classroom, help them with their homework or talk to their teachers. We failed to investigate candidates before voting for the school board, the mayor and even the President.
We listened to the hyperbole from unreliable news media. One teacher years ago said that Americans would rather complain about their government than pray for their government.
The “church” in America built fancier buildings rather than give $ to missionaries. We let the government provide for the poor; we became self-serving rather than God serving. Our children are ungrateful because we have failed to teach them to be grateful by buying them stuff and sitting them in front of televisions to keep them occupied.
I could go on and on. We all know this, so we must quit blaming the unpleasant outcome of our spiritual sloth on politicians and Supreme Court judges.
But now is the time to return to the Lord, to seek His mercy. It is time to shut our mouths except in prayers and petitions and speaking the words of life. It is time to give thanks that, so far, God’s judgement has been merciful. Who knows, if those of us who call ourselves Christians truly repent, return the our first love; walk in holiness, humility and unity of purpose before our Father, we may once again have His favor on our nation by pouring out His Holy Spirit, and bringing revival to America.

I pray that students and people affected by unconstitutional mandates will respond with their money. Students may need to seek other schools, workers may have to sacrifice and seek new employment; people will need to stop patronizing businesses that require them to release personal information. Ms Barrett, et.al, have forgotten HIPPA. If their families have been threatened and they can’t stand up to the threats, they should recuse themselves or step down.
I have been wondering for a while about her and Kavanaugh. Is it possible that their children have been threatened? We need to pray protection and guidance for them both.
I really am kind of surprised she made this ruling and the case was rejected. Our rights and freedoms MUST be defended. Thank goodness our permanent home is not down here on earth.

We are Americans currently living in Britain, where almost 90% of the adult population has been vaccinated. We have seen our Covid numbers for hospitalization and morbidity go way down.
My husband is a doctor at a hospital here, and the effects of long term covid are quite frightening.
The fact is , we are all guinea pigs right now. Either you are a guinea pig infected with an unprecedented humanly designed virus, or your are a guinea pig testing a new vaccine.

I am happy that 90% of England has been vaccinated, however, England does not have open borders to our extent and the government is not dropping unvaccinated illegals all over the country by the hundreds of thousands. Lord, we ask that we not be forced against our will to do something that is not proven to be safe. Lord, I believe this is a test for the mark of the beast that will take place in the future for those who have not accepted you. It will be a horrifying time on earth for those left behind. Based on several of the latest comments, I say that we need to give Justice Barrett a break on this one. Undoubtedly she has more understanding of the U.S. constitution that all but a very few of us. From what I gather her decision was a no-brainer. Let us not be quick to deny freedoms to others that we may need in the future. I think that the universities policy is neither logical nor in keeping with science, but politically motivated bowing to social pressure. The university has a right to be wrong, as do you and I. “We know that we are from God and the whole world lies in the power of the evil one.” (1John 5:19). But, “everyone who has been born of God overcomes the world. One of the correlating issues here is that if the Universities get away with requiring students and staff to get vaccinated, that is another bullet in the chest of employees against employers requiring vaccination. Father, we fall humbly at Your feet. People are making decisions under duress that could affect their health going forward. We cry out for justice from You the only Just God. The rule of law, the Constitution, and the Bill of Rights, no longer are applied in this country. Elections are rigged, and the courts refuse to hear evidence. Amy Coney Barrett is still a new person on the court. Mold her into the judge you would like her to be. We all prayed for her because we know she and others hold the keys in their hearts to overturn roe vs. wade. God will deal with this according to his perfect timing. Put your trust into God forming ACB into the judge he wants for the long haul. Amen
There is not much that surprises me about SCOTUS! Clearly, these Justices, with the exception of very few, want to make the law, not interpret it. We have a majority there that have no interest in conservative values. Over many years, I have watched the Supreme Court vote against conservative beliefs and frankly, Christian beliefs! I have no confidence in them at all! They are driven by power and greed, arrogance and pride. It’s heartbreaking to think of the decision they make (if they do) with Roe v Wade! They will give an account to the Lord, though!

I am thinking they need to stand strong even if it means going to a different college or waiting a year. Do not give in to this tyranny. Let’s focus on the one who gives justice. Proverbs 29:26, Many seek the rulers favor, but justice comes from the Lord. Let’s follow Paul’s admonition in I Timothy 2:1,2, to first of all pray for all those in authority, so we can lead a tranquil and quiet life. As intercessors of the King of Kings we have the true power and the authority to be the kings and priests our Heavenly Father says we are. Lord show us how to pray for those in authority in this evil day.

I pray that the Lord would one day soon restore the SC to a place that would support the constitution, American freedom, and true justice. That they would cease become a tool of radical left, and take a stand for truth. They have gotten away from that concept.

This is another illustration showing people are not trustworthy. She should have consulted with the other justices. Not have decided on her own merits. A Proverb says “There is safety in abundance of counselors.” Not in one person’s opinion. That is why there are nine justices not one. Even Jesus consulted with his father on all matters. So who is Amy that she thinks she can give her personal opinion about a matter this important.
This vaccine is not approved medically. It is used still in trial basis. There are many conflicting thoughts with medical people and adverse reactions in people who take it.
As a trial medicine it is not supposed to be forced on anyone. This control is example of gov overthrow and needs to be stopped.

SCOTUS should have declined to hear Roe as it was not in its jurisdiction.
The authority of a university’s governing board is vested in it by the state. Indiana University is under the authority of the state of Indiana and not the federal government, therefore it is not under the jurisdiction of SCOTUS.
You cannot tell the feds to butt out in one instance and run to our aid in another. Follow the Constitution. Be consistent. Irregardless of sentiment, who decides is more important than what is decided.

The students’ case being rejected did not surprise me. First know that I don’t agree with educational institutions requiring students to receive a vaccine, or any medical procedure, that hasn’t proven safe nor effective for the individual nor the general public. However, I believe such an institution has the right to form its own requirements for enrollment as it deems necessary per the knowledge and understanding it believes necessary to function at its best.
I don’t believe it is against a students’ constitutional right because the student always has the option of not choosing that place to matriculate, or perhaps alternatively participate online if offered. The college is not forcing them to enroll with them and no law mandates the students to attend.
To begin with, how can one justice decide this? What gives one person the right to go against our constitutional rights, when they have no medical background, for doing so. I SEE CONSPIRACY WRITTEN ALL OVER THIS DECISION, AND I WOULD HOPE THAT PEOPLE WOULD BE SO UPSET AS TO PROTEST THIS RULING.
This lady is truly a disappointment. When she was nominated by president Trump, she appeared to be conservative and a real stand-up Republican. However , her actions on the Supreme Court indicate to me , that she is a RINO. Lord Jesus, I pray that you would cause Amy Coney Barrett to return to her conservative convictions, and to stop playing politics. I pray that she would not cave in to the far left radical agenda which is pervasive in Washington. In Jesus’ name.
She is not a Rhino. As Rose Marie said above, the university has the right to mandate a vaccine to keep their students safe. We are in a pandemic and it does not help that there are still people refusing to get the vaccine and has caused another surge. If a student does not like the rules then they can choose to go somewhere else or take classes online. The Supreme Court has already ruled that a business can mandate the vaccine.
Disappointment is too mild a word for my emotions. I’m seeing a disturbing trend from this supreme court justice who I expected to exhibit courage in the face of fights, but she has shown us something else entirely. My mistake. That was too high an expectation.
Should our country re-examine our practice to keep each Supreme Court Justice employed for their entire life? I’ve been wondering about this due to the disappointing, high-impact decisions coming from Roberts and Barrett.
You would have to amend the Constitution in order to do this. The Dems would never allow you to do this. That’s not their style.
She was appointed to do her job (Brett Kavenaugh too) as a judge and we should expect that all the judges do what is just and right. However, we need to stop thinking that Roman Catholic religion is acceptable to the LORD. Jesus said for us to “Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.” Matthew 9:38. Yes, the LORD can use anybody or anythong to accomplish His will but we, Born Again Believers need to get out the buildings and take the gospel truth to unbelievers who are blinded to the truth.People are changed when they are Born Again not because they say God or go to a church. Believers also need to renew our minds with His truth and humble ourselves under the Mighty hand/ power of God and be led by His Holy Spirit rather than trying to get the LORD to go with our leading. 1 Peter 4:17 – For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?
And it shows us that we cannot count on Amy C Barrett or anyone, we can only count on the Lord God.

I personally do not know why Justice Amy C Barrett ruled this way. It is very disappointing. If if I were enrolled to go to that university, my first inclination would be to withdraw my enrollment and seek other options that give freedom of choice, even if i already had spent money in enrolling.
I don’t even know how to pray anymore, for defeat after defeat. I only know that God is good all the time, I pray for his goodness and mercy upon the college students , and for God to open their eyes to the evil that is prevailing, so they may come to Him and his ways. Holy Spirit please sweep across the universities and bring salvation to our young people. In Jesus’ name 🙏
Yes, I am surprised and a bit dismayed at this ruling. We pray for our Justices to make righteous rulings, we thought that this Justice would uphold our constitutional rights and liberties, and banked on the fact that she is a person of faith. So when we we a ruling against the rights of students without any reasoning or word of standing behind it, I scratch my head and say what is this? It is true, a student can choose not to attend this college, but it is also true that this ruling gives precedent to every other institute of higher learning as well as any other public place that wants to require the citizens to “bow down and do what we say or don’t be included in what we have to offer.”
If we as a body of citizens would stop, and think about the control that society is trying to place on us, the yoke that is being bound on our neck, we might find that we have more power than we think. Parents, are you paying for the indoctrination of your child to attend these places that are demanding compliance?? STOP!! Students, walk away if you are feeling compelled to do something that is against your personal will and you believe is an attack on your liberty.
Do you think that Justice Barrett has subjected her children to a jab that is experimental and contains or is derived from the cells of babies that were not allowed the right to live and breathe and make their own choices like you and I?? I mean she has been touted as the poster child on the bench for right to life🧐🧐 whatever the case may be, God calls us to be faithful to follow Him and His ways.
We may call ourselves believers, that is all well and fine. Even the demons believed who Jesus was. We are called to be more than believers, followers is what we are supposed to be. We are to do the things Jesus did, live the way Jesus lived. Jesus said he did nothing apart from his Father, he could only do what he saw his Father do. THAT IS THE LIFE OF A FOLLOWER OF CHRIST. We seek first the kingdom, (peace and righteousness). We are responsible for our own temple. It was bought and paid for by the blood of Christ. We need to not be swayed or moved by public opinion and the rule of man if it goes against Kingdom values.

Amy C. Barrett has been a major disappointment. I truly believe she’s sold out to the far left. God had called her to be an Esther for such a time as this; she’s ignored this calling and He will remove her.

Father I pray you will raise up institutions that will not force use of an experimental vaccine upon those who decide not to take it. Allow those institutions to prosper economically to send the message to others it is not in their best financial interest to force this upon the American people. I pray we will not have a society with 2 classes of citizens depending on vaccination status.

I’m not happy with the outcome, but from a lay person, it doesn’t seem completely unreasonable. As the article states, the students have other options permitting them to avoid the vaccine and still attend Indiana or, they can choose a school that doesn’t mandate the vaccine. The 1905 precedent left the authority of individual states intact, and in these days that may be as important as it has ever been.
The Supreme Court has already ruled that hospitals can mandate the vaccine. This means a business can which probably means universities can.

I also feel that ACB is wrong in proclaiming a unilateral S.C. decision If the S.C. has already ruled that vaccines can be mandated, what a poor decision. Adults need to make their own mind up about vaccination, without coercement or intimidation tactics. This is America, not Communist China!
It is shocking that (in)Justice Barrett, who indicated, with steely resolve during her confirmation hearings, that she would uphold the Rule of Law and US Constitution, has failed so completely on this and other decisions.
A KEY LIBERTY that we enjoy is our God-granted liberty of conscience. Aside from this vital right is the Geneva Convention’s rule that an individual CANNOT be compelled to receive an experimental (non-FDA approved VAX)!
AND where was BARRETT when it came time to look at the evidence of massive Election fraud in the case brought by Texas (and over 15 other states) several months ago regarding SIMPLY LOOKING AT THE EVIDENCE and the 100’s (now 1,000’s) affidavits signed under penalty of perjury declaring that these individuals had personally witnessed fraudulent, illegal activities take place during the 2020 Election process?
When the SCOTUS Justices are nominated to serve, and undergo the rigorous confirmation process, they KNOW that they will be asked to decide “hot potato” difficult cases, and BARRETT (and others) have FAILED to fulfill their duty to hear the evidence, instead choosing a convenient “way out” by denying hearing based on “standing” rather than doing the HARD WORK of looking at the case based on the evidence/ “merits.”
–Will “wilting Amy” be able to stand for TRUTH should a decision about ROE reach SCOTUS?
We will continue to pray for BARRETT, Gorsuch, Kavanaugh, and all of the SCOTUS Justices, that they develop courage to TAKE the tough cases, PURSUE the TRUTH (wherever it leads), and make CONTITUTIONAL decisions in the FEAR of GOD, standing up for the God-given RIGHTS of WE THE PEOPLE.
