From Breitbart. House Judiciary Committee chairman Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) escalated Republicans’ investigation into the Manhattan district attorney’s indictment of former President Donald Trump by subpoenaing a prosecutor on Thursday who resigned from the office last year over the district attorney’s initial reluctance to pursue Trump’s case.

Jordan’s subpoena, reviewed by Breitbart News, directs Mark Pomerantz, who resigned from Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s office in February 2022, to appear before the committee for a deposition on April 20.
In a cover letter accompanying the subpoena, Jordan said his committee had legislative reasons to demand Pomerantz’s testimony.
“Congress has a specific and manifestly important interest in preventing politically motivated prosecutions of current and former Presidents by elected state and local prosecutors, particularly in jurisdictions—like New York County—where the prosecutor is popularly elected and trial-level judges lack life tenure,” Jordan wrote. …
Pomerantz, a former special assistant assigned to the years-long Trump case, exited the Manhattan district attorney’s office right after Bragg took over. The move became a public affair when his resignation letter appeared in the New York Times last March. …
Pomerantz later went on to publish a book about the matter, called People vs. Donald Trump: An Inside Account, in which Pomerantz discussed internal concerns people had about the investigation and worries about the credibility of Cohen, a convicted felon.
“You describe your eagerness to investigate President Trump, writing that you were ‘delighted’ to join an unpaid group of lawyers advising on the Trump investigations, and joking that salary negotiations had gone ‘great’ because you would have paid to join the investigation,” Jordan wrote of the book. …
The subpoena marks Republicans’ strongest move yet in its investigation of the New York County’s indictment of Trump amid questions from some about Congress’s authority to probe open state-level criminal matters. …

Heavenly Father, I thank You for the service of Congressman Jim Jordan and his desire to serve both You and this nation. I asked that You would grant him revelation as You did Daniel, as he moves forward in this assigned position. Pour Your favor upon him and align him with Your wise counsel. Please cover him and his family with the blood of Jesus. Let no deceptive actions or traps be set for him. Bring forth Your mighty word of scripture upon his heart and mind that will guide his steps. The judge in heaven is in judgement of the American judicial system. I declare and decree righteousness and justice is and will reign in this New York Court. I appeal to heaven for exposure and prosecution of guilty parties. I bind unequal scales of justice and loose heaven’s rule of law. All Americans have a right to a fair trial and that includes President Trump and the January 6th people as well. Heaven is shining its light on America’s justice system. A demonic statue was put over the courthouse in Manhattan in January and there was a headline – Move over Moses. I recall that when Moses and the occult people of Pharo threw down their staff, both turned into snakes, but the snake of Moses ate the other snake. The gates of hell will not prevail against the church. Who can stop the Lord Almighty? I declare this is a book of Ester time. I declare the recking ball of heaven is and will destroy corruption in our judicial system. The unalienable rights of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness come from God and not corrupt government. If we can keep it is the question and I say yes to keeping our constitutional republic derived from biblical roots.
Dear Gracious Heavenly Father, none of us humans are above sinning, and to represent You, Lord, in the marketplace, congress, the street, and in the world as we know it and walk thru it, is to put a giant target on our back for our adversary the devil to sling his arrows at. We do pray for Jim Jordan for good quiet times where he can meet with You, Lord, and don the whole armor of God including the boots of peace, the breastplate of righteousness, the helmet of faith and the sword of the Spirit with which to divide the thoughts and intents of the soul, to ward off those fiery darts of the wicked one! thank you, Lord for this man Jim Jordan, who is but a man and may we not put our faith in men, but in you alone!
