What does this decision mean for our First Amendment rights?

In 2016, meme-maker Douglass Mackey decided to lampoon Democrat Party voters by creating and posting an image that claimed they could vote simply by texting “Hillary” to a cell phone number, instead of waiting hours in line. The joke was posted to his popular “@TheRickyVaughn” page on Twitter, known for its biting satire.

This week, Mackey was convicted in Brooklyn, New York, on a charge of Conspiracy Against Rights stemming from what the U.S. District Attorney’s office called “his scheme to deprive individuals of their constitutional right to vote.” …
Mackey faces 10 years in prison, with sentencing due in August. And though his lawyers claim they are “optimistic about our chances on appeal,” a precedent for pursuing meme-makers through the courts has now been set. …
Hypocrisy.
A number of Mackey’s supporters have highlighted similar actions by Twitter user “Kristina Wong,” who made memes targeting Trump voters by telling them to vote on “November 9th” while wearing a MAGA hat. She was neither charged nor investigated.

Mackey said of the news: “My conviction essentially means there is no First Amendment protection of speech … If you make a meme they don’t like, the Federal Government will come after you”.
“It was no criminal conspiracy. It was the internet,” defense lawyer Frisch said in his closing argument. He added that although roughly 4,900 people called the vote-by-text number, “No one was tricked.” …

Let this man go freein Jesus’s Name!!! It was only a joke. Someone on the Far Left did a similar joke and nothing has been done to that other person. Totally a two tiered system of justice depending on one’s political views. Most unfair!!! Illegal!! God help our country and free speech.

I believe this case is “window dressing” to scare away others from making such bold sarcastic moves, be they righteously motivated, or otherwise. I believe intimidation is the name of the game here. May we stand up to such intimidation tactics with sly protests, maybe millions of memes that will be impossible to jail, prosecute, fine, or otherwise punish. while i do not endorse nor support mocking sin (fools make mockery of sin, says proverbs, the bible), it has been given unto mankind, a very creative brain, a heart which knows, inherently right from wrong, and a desire for liberty, justice, and a good joke on those who are just plain wrong and ornery, like the situation in the old testament bible of the book of Esther, which does not even mention God at any time or anywhere i the story, yet Gods hand is brilliantly displayed when wicked Haman , who would destroy the Jews, falls onto Queen Esther’s couch to plead for his life, and thus angers the King even worse, and gets Haman hung on his own gallows which Haman built for Mordecai the Jew, who was Queen Esther”s uncle who raised Esther. For such a time as this, Lord please raise up righteous, creative people to carry the gospel to the uttermost parts of the earth, that all men and women everywhere may get save to the uttermost!
Father, I ask that you would give Douglass Mackey strength and courage. I pray for New York and I plead the blood over that state which would take down all our Constitutional rights. Cover their faces with shame that they may seek you. Convict them. Let the Christians there be faithful to pray and walk in your authority against this horrendous evil!
