INTERCESSOR SHARES A DREAM–WHAT ARE YOU HEARING?
A friend recently told me about a dream he had where he was in a store and the shelves were empty. A man told him that the reason the shelves were empty was because there was talk about World War III. He got on his knees with the President and another person to cry out to the Lord for forgiveness and mercy for America and to keep us from war.
We all know the story in Genesis 18 where Abraham pleaded for mercy for Sodom. Abraham boldly asked the Lord to spare Sodom, first if fifty righteous men were found and finally for 10 righteous men (Gen. 18:16-33). We know that God did destroy Sodom, but He remembered Abraham and spared Lot.
I believe this is a time to pause and prepare and to get to know the heart of God, spending time listening to what He is saying and worshiping Him. But I also feel it is a time to be on our faces before Him asking him for mercy for this nation and to forgive our sins. Right now the word for this season seems to be “unprecedented.” We don’t know what things will look like in the future, but God instructs us to do this: “… approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.” (Heb. 4:16)
