“President Trump on Wednesday said that Iran may be planning a “sneak attack” on American troops in Iraq. He warned that, should this come to pass, it will come with a “heavy price” for Iran.

The president’s warning on Twitter comes amid continued tensions with Iran over military confrontations beginning in January – most recently the Soleimani birthday attack in which two American troops and one British soldier were killed,” reports Just the News.

The President addressed this intel and potential for action in the briefing that took place on April 1, 2020, which included his Secretary of Defense Mark Esper and the Join Chiefs of Staff Mark Milley. Pray for protection for our troops who are serving abroad at this time–particularly in hot zones such as Iraq.

The New York Post reports “Trump’s tweet came as both countries were struggling to contain the coronavirus outbreak.

Iran has 47,593 cases and 3,036 deaths to date.

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said late last month that Iran had rejected offers of US aid to combat the pandemic.

Pompeo also condemned Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei for promulgating conspiracy theories that the United States was responsible for the outbreak, and pointed out Iran’s own misdeeds that he claimed exacerbated the spread of the virus.

“The U.S. has offered $100M+ in medical aid to other nations—including Iran—and our scientists are working 24/7 to develop a vaccine. @khamenei_ir has rejected American offers and spends 24/7 concocting conspiracy theories. How does that help the Iranian people?” Pompeo tweeted, referring to Khamenei.”

Heavenly Father, There is so much happening all at once around the world. We as Your beloved children look to You and You alone for comfort and encouragement as we seek to bring these burdens before Your Throne. We rejoice that You alone are God and see all things and know all things, even the things hidden from our eyes, they are not hidden from You. Thank You for the Intel that brought forth from darkness into the light this conspiracy! We look to You, Lord JESUS, as the Light of the World, to continue to expose all that its hidden in the darkness. We pray for all those in authority in our military and all the troops who are serving abroad, that Your warring angels would surround each and every one of them and that Your Presence, Lord JESUS, would be manifest to all, drawing all to Yourself as Lord and Protecter. We pray Blessed Father that the populace of Iran would know the truth about what is happening in their government and about the United States’ offer to help their people during this pandemic. Lord JESUS, please show Yourself in the fullness of Your love to the Iranian people that they may know You and have hope eternal. In Your Name, Lord JESUS, the Name above all names! AMEN
